I'll happily go on record and say this has been a welcome return to great form for Bruce. I still have issue with his disposals but by and large a very good contributing year. Now speaking of contributing the club has lined his pockets rather handsomely for a few years now, even dare I suggest when it wasn't overly earnt . With Junior goingit might be wise to retain him for a year or two (2nd year no guaranteed starts ... Maybe not even first ) but he needs to understand a little bit of payback is needed via a salary cut. That seems fair enough; otherwise enjoy the Sun by all means!

Didn't he once look after some list of a Victorian team ? lol wasn't particularly reknown for bringing the kids on; development probably not his long suit !!

So much morality and high ground stuff. How dare a team attempt a tacticv to their advantage. They dont owe anyone anything. They need to do the best thing for thier own rewards. Its not outside of the laws of the game though some may suggest the spirit. But is it ? Its horses for courses. Freo dont owe the Kangas anything. If they ( Nth ) were relying on Freo then maybe Nth ought to have won a few more along the journey. Over the years the game has changed. Its methods morphed towards something almost unrecognisable. In so many other sports the very best team is often kep for the really big games; weve simply been accustomed to this not ever being a trump card played in our beloved code. But given the ridiculous hoops Freo had to jump through just to get to that game Im not surprised a hard call was made . Its not everyones cup of tea but Im very curious to see if their gamble comes off. It might just change the game forever .

Well. Hes certainly brought about a variety of discussion over the years. Hes frustrated the hell out of me at times( and Im sure im not alone in that ) but I do admire his pereserverance. In past years when the general standard of depth at Deeland was not what it is now the likes of Strauss etc would have their places without as much scrutiny. The bar is higher, we have a fair smattering of talent, some still to get on the paddock and as such Straus wants to get a wiggle on. More draftees and rookies to come. We don't carry passengers on this freight train !!

I would think that with the exit of unior they will be looking for another relative older type with calm , sound mind on shoulders for a couple ( 2-3) years til a youngen matures into the role. Bruce wont be around that long..( just a reality most likely ) Leaves only Green and Davey. Green likely to get the nod and thats also the view of many in the game ( media etc ) Still as the players are to get the say it might prove all of us wrong
