  1. care to graph that and deduce the trend ?? probably not huh !!!
  2. And ifyou want to talk averages I'll take it back to 28.3 There's a vast distance for Dean to cover to get to 50%, good luck for him and us if he can accomplish that.
  3. Alright Nasher...just last two... we'll discount Baileys first 2 seasons , so then we're humming along at 38.2%... just marvee by jingo !! That would also place him ahead of Hardwick.... lil unfair to Damien I would have thought ?? Nothing would please me more if Bails turned it around. In reality I couldnt care less who either plays for Melbourne or who coaches them. I just want a fair-dinkum effort culminating in premiership success. I dont want try..I want DO but atm were not even trying.
  4. concur...wouldnt look good at all. Strangely enough he had a 52.3% strike rate which isnt too shabby But I dont think hes the man we need.
  5. Captains lead...i.e they captain.. I know this sounds harsh but whats he done? Last year he did many of those 1% things...all the stuff for which many of us thought would make him particularly suited to the leaders role. Have seen bugger all this year.. Just saying what Im seeing

Only one blokes got a worse % and he's got the Suns !!! yeahhh...I'm Excited !!!!!
  7. The bus is coming !
  8. just trotting out the predictable
  9. youll think im splitting hairs here but i consider mental toughness and ability as to widely differing things. You can have ability and not the fortitude or conviction to act upon it. Youcan be tough as nails and over the top we go stuff but not have the nous as to when to duck your head ! He can be as resilient as the Pyramids but if deep down there isnt what it takes to lift his coaching way above the current mediocre into 'success' it will mean nothing. I dont doubt he has smarts...but does he have ability. I havent seen any true ability at coaching displayed yet. Have seen no masterstrokes mid game, have seen no walls particularly shored up when a dam threatened to crack..Ive seen Melbourne run over any number of times. Ive seen Demon teams with hunched shoulders ( as did Bailey have at games end) . He got us through the maze of 'game management' but in hindsight was this as much luck as real direction ?..After all doesnt take a genius to lose a game...but win them ?? I have liked him..I still like him...just havent any faith currently thathe's an able coach , let alone the one for us .
  10. more the point...has he the abilty ?
  11. The Facebook thing was somewhat feral and wouldnt be looked upon that seriously by those that matter. It has however been constantly mentioned in dispatched and so lends itself to bolstering the general angst. Only a hundred joined the face.. but would have thought thousands wrote or phoned the club... The club is wellaware the general membership isnt overly enamoured with our eforts just now.It wil be even more acutely aware of murmurings and dissatisfaction amongst the clubs upper echelon. If it keeps up there will be a tap on Jimmas shoulder followed by the "well ...whats happening ? "
  12. ho ho ho.... bet Garry cant wait to turn up for work today ( not ) Caro sharpening her pencil even now. Pick your questions !! a) Would you coach Melbourne in 2012 Garry ? B) are there any moves at Melb to remove Bailey mid season ? C) Is Melb drawing up a short list of potential replacements? d) Has Melbourne already spoken ( quietly ) to anyone ) e)can this wait til seasons end Garry or will the club have to act sooner rather than later ? roll up roll up !!
  13. Some will only suggest its stating the bleeding obvious...and should be seen as fluff. I would contend its that it is the veryfact that its the Bleeding Obvious....that its ceased being the Elephant and that its now rampaging for all to see that it now needs to be addressed. Mathew knights lost his charges long before he lost his job. I cant help but think Im seeing the same on the field with Melbourne. Players performing like wet blankets...how does that occur.. Individually there might be individual reasons but when a team starts playing like sh!t en mass its a team thing. You really have to ask the question...and Robbo does..is Bailey a dead coach walking ?? I think he is
  14. Bailey on the Brink Bailey on the Brink - HS Tackle and so it starts...the torch is now well and truly on Melbourne...and so it ought to be quite frankly
  15. The real move is to put Grimes and Davey on opposite half back flanks...would compliment each other pretty well.
  16. Has become a little too cushy with that pay cheque
  17. I repeat as elsewhere.. Id love to see a Viney Laidley combo.
  18. I dont think hes got the mongrel for this position. His little jaunt around the boundary line for the media seemed far too comfortable...a pleasant diversion. Insert a Malthouse,a Roos..even a Jimmy Hird and there wouldnt have been any bounce in their step , there would have been a steely glare and circumspect comments..the bare minimum...not so for our Dean. Turn it around ?? ffs turn it up. He hasnt just arirved yesterday...this is his 4th bloody rear at this and were really not much better for it. Yes much ought to levied at the players but who's job is it to gett t he players going ?? There's a mailaise at Melbourne. There was also the same disease at Windy Hill ... but the understood the ailment and sought a cure. So should we.
  19. For the simple reason that these players excite the minds and hearts of folk who have lifted the bar oooh lets say an inch off the ground. In his own way Moloney has played a very good version of the Moloney game, that this game in itself is severely limited in thinking or spread of options seems to escape the many who gush and fawn over him. I dont for one minute question his endeavor , heart, nor dedication to the jumper but hes the sort of player an oppo will love to play on because hes so SO predicatable.. Jones also is playing a game above previous levels....hes lifted from C to C+. This isnt a go at them...it might sound like it but like the old adge ...what looks like, sounds like and walks like so it must apply to sportsmen etc...they are whatt hey are. Much of the syruppy admiration stems not so much ( I sense) from the actual demonstrated abilities but for the desire to have someone, anyone, in a Melbourne jumper doing something approaching adequate to abate that niggling reality that we struggle. Trengove is a class above these guys already but he cant do it alone. He will need the likes of a Scully...or possibly a Viney ( in years to come ) to form a real midfield. Gysberts when he can toughen up and maintain consitency will provide a major assett to the midfield and Tappy is ably gifted to usurp Moloney as soon as next season. Players wil fear this bloke...make no mistake. Currently Moloney is giving most of what he has. Sadly thats limited. A number of players will displace Jones next year. Id trade them personally...yeah...an early call I know... but its that kinda year....again.
  20. Laidley won't cut it ?? That's funny . Generally acknowledged as one of the most astute footy minds around. A track record of getting a team to consistently punch above their weight and bleed for the jumper. His game day ability casts Bailey into the shadows ( but then again who doesn't)
  21. Possibly Brad might have displayed better judgment and declined the show. "Sorry 10 , more important things than providing fodder for you guys" Im disappointed again . I was disturbed to see Bailey with similar untimely disregard donniing the Boundary Rider gig when really he ought to have been fuming and getting stuck into his charges. Some strange priorities eminating from this club.
  22. in a fashion id agree that we have many of the pieces. Some need refinement and dare I say it, developing further; but the design thats currently being used for these peices seems obviously wrong. Essendon in hindsight were similarly not far off !!
