  1. If we are not much different from the GCS then we are really in a whole lot of bother. I would suggest we are supposedly very different . Far more established. Players Have played far more games and preseasons together. Such a comparison is rather erroneous
  2. Of course they are...This is surprising because ??? lol
  3. This Very much and entirely the domain of the Coach(s) ....to not just mould the body and stylebut the MiNDS that control them.
  4. Yes...all very classic Sheedy-esque Seagull and Martian speak. What do you take from that : I havent spoken to him, I dont do contracts, cant say if anyone else at clubs has or hasnt.. Well blow me down thats all cleared up !! lol Sheeds does make the point you wouldnt want to contract ( to early ) a player who might carry injuries. Perhaps theyve been waiting to see how well Scully recovers(ered ) from his knee niggles. Sheeds said everything and nothing. Thats Sheedy
  5. Im sure there ARE those that might prefer training in the milder weather of a Sth Qld Winter than the rain and wind of Melbourne's !!
  6. also...they we supposedly weakened.. we were running a not far from best 22...and we got thumped thumped thumped.. Yes they are the reigning premiers showing absolutely no signs of a hangover..( unusual in itself ) and we are supposedly up and comers. They used us to wipe their bums.. In the context of the season..and especially our BIG day it was all a disaster could be.
  7. possibly the wrong thread deleted.. the V v B one was due to be ditched
  8. Happy now ??? Lol I knew I'd regret applauding this guy. Shown to be passed it as goes the game currently. He still thinks with a good footy brain but has neither the leg speed or real body on body winning game. Fool me once shame on you, fooled me twice shame on me. Shop him around for whatever we can get pick wise and try and use some value combing etc. 27 , you're times up I'm afraid.
  9. I should have gone skiing !!! Wouldn't be alone
  10. Make changes Dean ,, Micky is killing us ffs
  11. Bates I agree is not only gone, but ought to go for his own sake. He wont progress much if any at Melbourne now his card is marked. Good luck further afield Matty. Im not totally enamoured with Cale. I feel he's been written up far better than hes really tracking. He has a few good games here and there but Im not convinced of his long term worth and would seek to trade him whilst others still might think he has some and before we all possibly know he doesnt.. Even if he did turn ot kinda OK somewhere else I feel his real worth is in what we could use his trade for. Sometimes when making something and its not quite going right , you start again. This is how I see Cale. Rarther put his value in someone else and start again. Ricky Bobby pleases and annoys me. Hot/Cold...Up/down. on/off. Id like to see how his season progresses otherwise he migh well find himslef on that table.. if so for all..so be it Im more concerned about teh well being of a team , rather than any particular players right to stay a dee .
  12. Ive been very critical of Jareds form over the journey and im still not totally convinced but I will give credit and applause where due. He seems to have ditched his nonchalance and niggly attitude and regained some semblance of his early form. Hope he keeps it that way. He's picked up half the yard he lost but it worries me as to how permanent this might be. i.e how succeptible to a relapse etc etc. Currently hes playing better than decent footy. Again, hope that stays that way. Doubt id ever join his bandwagon but will clap as it passes !
  13. So Morton wishes to review his position..fine by me.. trade him Problem solved..
  14. Sorry for condescending ?..hardly you thrive on it.. so lets pass on the pleasantries.. We can al lsee through them. Canberra like most other infrastructure richcities will grow. Australias population will require it do so. They all cant live in the Melbournes and Sydneys of this land. Its currentpopulation of over 350000 will grow easily to 1/2 Million within the same forecasted developmental period being applied to GWS. Yes the raiders struggle...newsflash....the NRL is struggling.. one begets the other. The AFL is flourishing in the very same environments. Dont be so quick to write off a Canberran team within 10 yeras. Arguably AFTER GWS and a Tassie team have taken root. A Tier 2 team would slot in quite well . it would be another generational project. It will also be a prestige project as eventually the AFL will need to have a team of ITS code in the Nation's capital....Its bragging rights. The AFL wants to punish and bury the NRL. ( and so it should, cr@p game) Just an opinion
  15. A Draw for mine also.
  16. A reality is that now unless youre going to finish top 4 youre not in teh race for the flag either.. paint it any which way youlike thats what happens. So for much of the season many teams are going through some sort of "motion" anyway..
  17. Actually Vlad wants a final 10...thats his idea of genius !!
  18. right on cue. You have no way of knowing how such games may or may not have panned out. ..And for the best part its irrelevant as your imposing a retrospectivity when none is warranted. Its going forward. Were dealing with a 18 team comp in this matter not the 16 team comp of 2007 etc.. but hey...coontinue your disnissiveness...youre quite good at it.
  19. Those that decry the notion of a two-tiered system ( as put by Schwabb ) will overlook such a view ^^^ ...wont suit their argument....so they'll be out-of-hand dismissive of it..
  20. I too like it... . I also dont mind a conference system either. All things have their appeal, all ideas have theoir respective pros and cons. Some will dismiss it out of hand sometimes for ill-considered bias. I can see, on the surface , how many would think that the lower tier would suffer from a perceived lesser media attention...This might hold water, but then it might not. The apetite for things footy, indded sport in this country knows no real bounds. You would however then have effectively a competition within a competition but this may actually make for closer more competitive hitouts. Often those lower on the pecking order will know they have not much really to play for in a season. You could argue those beyond the door of the eight are already playing a defacto second tier but without any promise of any reward for trying any harder than required.. With the prize of elevation things might just get a bit more 'real' . id be interested to see ( hear) what the clubs think of it.
  21. Its our MonDAY game ...leave the nights to Fri and/or Sat who soever suggests otherwise needs to be taken out the back and "spoken" to
  22. to which teh only response ought be.... Suck it up Princess !!!
  23. What would need to be argued by the MRP , imho is that you can only employ the reckless defence if the trangression was only a by-product of an incident of play ...and not teh incident itself. There was no need for Thomas to swing and punch other than to hit Jones. It was not a incidental result of any other attempot of effort for the ball, therefore it cant be reckless and must be intentional, as the intent was indeed to swing and hit the player immediately under him. You got niggled Daisy...and more the point you got caught....simple as !!
  24. Of course he will. Collingwood wont make the mistake of going in under-lawyered !!! They aregue brilliantly. They show magical angles of view yet unknown that will prove ambiguity. And so Daisy will get off.. isnt that how it works......... for some !!
  25. Just a bit slow are you I can read fine, thanks for your input.
