I I dont know about some of this lack of repercussions etc. I would have thought that anyone in the media ( or otherwise for that matter) would need to tread carefully before besmirching anothers good character. There are such things as Libel and Slander still.

just a simple question: Who actually has NEVER lied...or know someone who has NEVER lied ? Its but a human condition... It happens
-
who ever goes back to Adelaide ???? lol Trenners is the next Melbourne Captain in many's eyes. Not a concern for mine
-
" Look Son.. you're gunna be 4th choice going forward. Your AFL match payments will refect this...or you can maybe get the 2nd man gig at...( insert club )" not so tricky really
-
In many ways the scumbaggers ought to get double demerits etc for off the ball stuff. There's sport...and there's thuggery !!
-
Hence my suggestion a rnd 2 pick might be more to someones taste. Gawns improvement this year I would have thought is further down the track than wed really dare to imagine. Spencer m,ight just be a victim of unfortunate circumstances... 4 into 3 wont go...as it were

beat me to it..!! Unusual for us to think alike ..but footy 's a funny game at worse a high to mid 2ND maybe. Certainly worth puttinig the notion to teh test youd think.
-
Strangely most will. You're just showing your pettiness and having a dig. See the difference is I wi lhappily say that's exactly what Im doing. Poke..poke..Im having a dig at your supercilliousness .( oops sorry probably above your comprehension levels..isnt it !!) ..and the word is NIAIVE !! something you should be well aquainted with. Many will indeed understand the analogy rpfc. That you seem to need things to be published in some fish-wrapping before you can understand it is a stance of your own volition. Dont expect everyone to do so, some have already awoken and smelt the flowers. Tom may , or may not leave come seasons end but I certainly dont believe the decision will have been made then. I hope he stays. I hope the club doesnt pay him 5 million ( well not over 5 years ). I hope they can agree to much more appropriate munerations. Amazing that everyone else can get on with things.. Stilll if nothing else GWS have done us the favour of establishing the level of our compensation.

Newsflash...its actually being made now...like it or not....maybe no announcemtn til later.. but the machinations are taking place NOW Good for you
-
So some of you actualliy believe all the crap that espews fron his management and the GWs ..and on and on. .. Its all a bit " I did not have sexual relations with that woman!!! " Often in many a working environment there are whispers., there are observations and granted sometimes things are not always what they seem....and yet many a time they are exactly what they seem, just no-one 's made the official announcement. .. No, the mine's not closing..certainly not , whilst all around equipment is re-assigned elsewhere, workers shifts reduce, natural attrition isnt replaced until suddenly its not 'viable" anymore. But it was never going to close !! Anyone who honestly believes what they are seeing is the real -time observation of events is very niaive !!
-
This somewhat hilarious in a fashion. Who honestly believes that this is only NOW happening. This is the public SELL of what has been going on all along. Just look at the hypocrisy of the logic's presented. Follow this up with inane remarks by his management ... :"We haven't told Tom what it is only that it's substantial and it warrants due consideration." what.... like its all a secret...hush hush squirrel sh!t !! ffs ..its laughable Just as the supposed nonsense about GWS not being able to secure people til end of season, that they had this supposed window of opportunity prior and that was all. Its all farce. All the way along young Tom has had 'plausible deniability " on his side. Now that goes out the window. I honestly wouldn't decry the young lad from taking up the 5 mill offer. That's big BIG bikkies..And if hes any good ( i.e worthy of that really big bowl of coin ) then he'll get just as much next time too. Its up to him whether he wants to do such in the land of the unknown, without ever really tasting the ultimate success for its terribly terribly unlikely GWS wil make any real inroads for 15-20 years by which time one TS will have been a player, but no longer. What we are only privy to ( if that ) is the public face of the offers. You can bet your house there are under the table "sweeteners" to this, and if Melbourne isn't doing such then someones head needs to go on a plate. Who's silly enough to think they wouldn't roll out the cheque book to pay for his general living expenses where they could etc. All above board etc..lol This is high stakes Poker and GWS has a far bigger kitty to play with. If they go 'all in" we cant match it nor should we for here's the real equation. We need to look at his value in the context of him being but one player amongst many fine ones who;ll also need looking after. If we go the mats on one kid then how do you not have to up the ante all around and can we do so. Irrespective of what young Tom wants....in terms of supposedly waiting til seasons end he in actuality needs to clear this up now. We don't all get to do what we want. Often the playing filed changes mid game in life and you adapt. If he thought he could tuck all this away til a rainy day ,well, its p!ssiing down buckets now !! The blowtorch just went up a few notches .. I'm sorry Tom....time to make a call !!!

who's Gerald Healy I know of some bloke called Greg !!
-
Progress ?? thats the question erally isnt it.. progress or Stagnation !!...if its progress , then its slowed to a snails pace. The alternative is to cut and run...to choose to redeemwhat ever market value is gettable and put that towards another kid , or indeed other player if looking to pick up a ready goer. The club without doubt is in the box seat to know his true value going forward but it might decide to play on other club's not-so -deep knowledge and seek to unload him. Everyone's all but happy to come up with this excuse or that as to why he's underachieving... I let that simple observation carry its own veracity..i.e He's an underachiever. Move him on.

Ok...on the assumption Bailey does wind up come seasons end then Im inclined to discount Malthouse out of hand. 1) Icant see any timelines working to allow it and 2) I dont think hes the best fit. Clarkson is an interesting option and worthy of consideration. Hed certainly DEMAND their all..and ALL the time. The man proven to get the best out of lists despite they're not looking the best lists is ROOS..and our list isnt/wont be to shabby !! Laidley would be worth a consideration. Maybe instead of a single coach we need to look at the Essendon Model.. I.e A sage senior with an up and comer ? just an idea

Funny you say this as I sit watching the game ( cats v westies ) with bro in law a staunch Filth from a big tribe of filth and they dont particularly rate Mouse, reckoning its nore his entourage and the facilities that brought success to bear more than just Mick.Thats all debatable but im not sold hes the answer to all problems either. A PR coup indeed it'd be but sound thinking ??? all a bit suss.
-
Good job that youre not then !! yep.. been mine too, doesnt stop any warranted observations or misgivings The consensus amongst many , that being media and teh manin the street is that Micky was never really going to put up with that deal and was always likely to take another position elsewhere. This seems to be firming all along. A salient point.A probably the greatest stumbling point to a possible appointment as Dees HC. Still the Footy D and RD often have more to do with the recruiting anyways and this is not possibly the be all and end all of predicaments it might seem at first look. Its does make for interesting specualtion none the less I do wonder what constraints ( or lack of ) might prevent say a Coach signing a HOA with club A whilst still committed to Club B ( but only to a certain date) What brand of Can o' Worms shall we call this ??
-
That might well be the case...i just seem to remember some timeliness of occasion , that Buckley and Scully shared proximity. Happy to be corrected
-
Its an interesting take without doubt. On teh surfacee its highly admirable and we can only hope this is the direction Tom is taking. Bu tthen its raises the question for mine: Much has been made about waiting to decide til seasons end, til after the CBA is ratified ..and on we go. I just make the observation then that if coin isnt the motivating factor, and if the higher aspiration of being participant in not only the realising of a premiership team but actually being a catalyst to this end then what on earth is stopping him from signing with us now ?? This to me represents the fulcrum of our collective vexation in this whole matter I think youre correct re Buckley haviing some connection, via the AIS , with a young Scully.. might be wrong.. memory hazey on that one. ,

Is Purple the new Black ??
-
This is probably his strong suit. On his tod he gets found out somewhat. Maybe he just doesnt revel in the climate of expectation. But given support or rather having HIM in support of ilk such as a more experienced team of ( dare I say it ) Scully-Trengove-Gysberts- Tapscott-McKenzie then he could be that loose Cannon of whom you speak.. i.e the game-breaker. There's been glimpses without the whole show to date.
-
This is actually something that has crossed my mind also. But to extend the foundation observation youd think that as a profesional ( in his mould ) hed work with whomever was the coach. He does however have some ability to choose which is not always a pleasantry in a workplace As is often said about much...the truth is not only out there, but its in amongst the theories. As with so much in life much doesnt make sense from a compromised position of view.

The essence with the likes of Nicholson and Cook and other relative newbies is we havent really seen the elvel to which they can climb. The likes of Bates, Newton, Warnock and Dunn etc we effectively have. The kids will get more time to build the others are looking more and more like the perrenial list cloggers. if I were the likes of Bate, Dunn, Newton et Warnock Id be getting my manager to shop me around and see just what is out there in terms of interest. For some the realy future may be in the footsteps of say Fraser ( Col ) etc....i.e get a gig..keep playing. Ive always liked Maric but he may well indeed struggle to get a consistent call up at Melbourne. He too might want/need to look afield. Someone else mentioned Spencer. Theres a certain idea of a conundrum here. he's seemingly been opvertaken by Martin. It stands to reason that it might get crowded in the queue having Jamar, Martin, Spencer and Gawn. But Rucks ( good ones ) are hard to come by but does one position warrant 10% of your player stocks ? Its a curly one !! Is there value in realising some value amongst that , say Spencer and investing that into another ? Do we need those particular 4 for another season ? Could we pickup another player in a year or two to groom as a ruck , or indeed if we were in a possition to have a tilt we might be able to trade for one. What happens will depend a lot on how other clubs see this years draft. Will they see more value in looking to some players already in the system but under utilised ( or indeed under-done ) or continue to go to the well irrespective.

reported by whom ?? Ah the Silly season starts earlier and earlier !!

Billy >>> http://demonland.com...post__p__454166 ps..Couldnt give a r@ts should people quote me for future mischief, esp when some have no real opinoins themselves..

Since you asked so nicely...( you feeling ok ? ) I have never been able to truly fathom whether he's staying or going. No more than anyone else here can actually KNOW. . What Ive always been very suspicious about is all the denial of anything. The world just isnt that cut and dried that NOTHING ever happens. There has to be something going on , but whether one TS is an actual participant ( directly ) then I suppose we all just have to take him at his word. But this is business and a reality of life is until something is in writing ...then nothing is REAL. Tom has pausible denial on his side and he can run with it. I dont trust the AFL, I dont trust Gubby & Co at the Lesser Western Midgets, wouldnt trust a professional manager with making a sandwich let alone anything bigger !! Now that certainly isnt a one word answer and it really cant be done , as much qulaiifying is required, because its waranted. I dont really know what to make of Tom Scully. I personally think any money of the nature thats being touted is quite frankly over the odds. Hes NOT that good( presently, and in the context of the next supposed contract period ) ..Hes very good but some seem to think hes the next Mesiah.Hes not at Judds level( yet and or posibly ) hes neither an Ablett, again yet or possibly. But he is very good and wil beome very very good. Is he that much more ( $ value ) than Trengove ? or Watts or Gysberts ? Is he going ? Logic suggests YES...my gut feels NO So in summation..I dont think he will go, despite possibly more l;ucrative offers but we will end up paying over the odds and that concerns me for the rest of the team going forwards Now this really ought to have been in the Scully thread...in fact I'll put it there
