theres obviously a lot that most of us arent privvy to. I sense there were areas that were coming to a head between some aspects of teh clubs admin and the fd , in particular teh Coaching, and therefore by definition Bailey. Teams dont just forget to play footy overnight. We arent really 30 goals worse than Geelong. There is however something sytemic in nature that permeates through some levels of the club and teh club in its wisdom saw that dismissing Dean immediately would hopefully turn that tap off , if only for the moment whilst other areas /problems are worked through.

I see it as the MFC's hand being forced re Bailey but not kneejerking into a decision really one way or other with Schwabb. They'll come to him in due course, and when waters are calmer...Makes perfect sense.

Should be very interesting to see if theres anything of the "Viney " way of things stamped over the way teh team takes to teh game this w/e. Not a lot you can do in a week... except scare the bejeezus out of a few slow coaches and big-of-ego's. Interesting 5 weeks ahead. ( maybe)

Though it has been deemed purely by chance to happen at this time ( beleive that if you care ) this is , for mine a message by the hierachy of the club to all and sundry announcing that "we do the hiring , firing and decision making here " not certain elements. Theyll review Schwabby in the clear light of day when its required.

Theres still something ( or some things ) very odd about all this. Obviously Sat's effort and result was an absolute catalyst for what is following but is it all as it seems ? Im convinced this isnt the closing act to a murder mystery but more akin to the second chapter of a longer tome. What have we in amongst all this. Bailey: Until Sat had ( for the most part according to various factions ) the backing of many to receive a 1 (or 2) year extension . Massive loss...massive backflip ? Schwabb. Rumoured to be imposing his expectations beyond teh board room into areas some others didnt think warranted. . SUpposedly Sat's efforts were maybe directed as protest towards him ? . A case Tail wanting to wag dog. ? Board turns around and secures a 1 year extension from CS. That cant in any way be accidentally coincidental. Thats a statement. No players, here the Dog wags tail. !! Connolly. Supposedlly his views re coaching direction not welcomed. By whom ? Coach ? Players ? Result Cuddles remains. I and some others had prior to Sat formed the view that far too much was far too cosy down at Demonland. I just get the gut feeling somoe of the playing groupd sensed change was at hand and this didnt sit with some. . Pure speculation of course. So again. it come back to timing.,..why NOW. I can only think that some in a position to see and understand things far better got an idea that this sea-of complacency had to be up-ended. There seemed inbedded inertia that just couldnt get going. As though some spell befell the footy dept. . This spell is broken with Bailey's removal. The sense of cosiness wil lbe banished, the club reinforces its position of it being in control, as opposed the whim of some whos egos outsize their playing proess. just an impression ... Something's just a bit strange....still next chapter please

Im not sure why some are so quick to dismiss Laidley. He is respected as a game day strategist, he constantly got a team to hit above its weight and always had the best interests of the players at heart. He was very no nonsense. Id look at him.

Id be happy to start with players that respect the Jumper and the Club.... seems wer hqve many that dont

Im not sure where else to put this so this will do. Ive not been a big fan of Bailey ( the coach ) for some time , but I have no ill feelings towads Bailey ( the man ) . For what its worth Dean no man ( person ) deserves to have been served up the crap that your charges delivered as your c-d-g yesterday. id buy you a beer and thank you for your time and efforts. I still dont think they are the right fit but you have done what you have with belief and integrity. I can not say thiis for many of the players that took to the field yesterday, a day that will be remembered long after many of these players are given the flick at an appropriate time.. I cant see how he can continue in any manner. I think its either brave of foolish really to consider theres a future for DB at Melbourne. This blokes got balls Ill give him that. Im disgusted by many who call themselves Demons and had the gall to take money for their efforts yesterday. But the future will be what it will be

Are they though.... and as ludicrous as it ought to be I really have my doubts. They ought to have been mortified to a man...but were they ? Laurel and Hardy aka Green and Rivers seem to have confused the occasion with the Comedy Festival....but then again maybe they didnt as they played like clowns. Again.. I raised the notion that some have it far too cosy at Melbourne.. As bad as Baileys results are to date with trumped up wannabes parading as players giving that kind of return any coach would for the chop. Again...are they really hurting...or instigating ?

the day the players start thinking they rule the roost is the day its all over red rover !! and if any player can be shown to have put on the brakes then they should be dropped for 3 weeks or so. No questions asked et. I dont care if we do get belted pillar to post as a result but NO player is ever to step foot on the fileld as a Demon and not put in 100%. Im struggling to comes to terms with this notion.. Not only unpalatable but nauseating !!

What exactly has Schwabby done wrong ?? Has he actually called for the various components of this club to be accountable, in the same way he would be ??. Players calling him to task?? thats laughable if true. Because so many have benn putting in 100% and ripping it up out there. Id be sacking players first.. really.. Mate.. Ive been following this team for that manyyears I can hardly remember.. Theres no pain or angst you feel that some of us havent already. . If I chose not to wallow in pious self inflicted woe thats my perogative. If only today shatters you you cant have been Dee for that long as thats really all this club delivers ...decade after decade after decade. Weve done NOTHING really since 64. I stil think the Jnr thing has absolutely nothing to do with today...and should it have , then we're really in the mire deeper thanis imaginable. We wont get Malthouse.. hell we wont get Struachnie or anyone will self respect after today. There need to be some serious souls searching down at teh MFC...and heads need to roll. Somehwere on oanother thread a few of us suggested there were symtons of great unease in the R and B camp and itts just bizarre that it would come to such a head in such a manner. Somethign very wrong is afflicinting the club. Im certain , in my mind at least its not the Jnr thing. I dont think the TS song and dance has helped anytinng but such a collapse as today points to somethign even more prevalent and deep rooted. We really ought not have been that bad today..

There in lies the real conundrum actually.. How did it fall apart on so many levels. It was a complete and utter debacle. How does that actually happen. No semblance of any real competitive spirit or direction, nothing. Its actaully quite bizarre.. There is far more to this than simply the shelacking we copped...much more.

I suggest you get over yourself. Its not the end of theworld.. no one died....just a glimmer of hope...thats all.
