He ( MM) does seem to have a greater interest in things Melbourne , games & list , than one would suppose of any other clubs coach. Youd just have to think a flag for the Dees would be the cherry on a very good cake. There is plausibility about al this. Probability is another thing. Seems all we do this year is wait...lol Still , all good comes to he who waits ...hehe

How long do games go for qtr wise. Is is a 'social ' game with some etiquette...or a young lads rucking antler event ?

Was talking earlier with a bro-law ( whos filth ) and the subject of Mickey M came up as we discussed the likelyhood or otherwise of possiblky Lyon ® to Melbourne. He raised an interesting idea or rather conundrum. Where CAN Mickey go ? Its highly unlikelyhed move interstate. I doubt hed really entertain anywhere that didnt have much of a list or any decent facilities.. Lets assume for a moment that he does indeed want to coach as opposed to mentor. Where can he go ? Id scrub Adelaide off the list. Youd think Rats would be safe now...but ?? I dont think hed fancy the Doggies list much. A scenario was put that if Lyon came to us then StKilda is open. , but theyd need a rebuild. I dont think Micks interested in a rebuild...a renovation yes perhaps.. but not a whole new shebang. Where ever he goes it will most likely be his last big hurrah. He will want to go out in a blaze of glory ( sorta) there arent that many jobs going that would attibute hero status more than a piece of silverware for the Dees.. Where does he go ?

Your on th eright tract I think WWL. It wil serve us nothing to get al lsilly and worked up right now. It only plays further into the hands of our adversaries. Best to take a deep breath or two, consolidate our position and work to maximise out compo. I agree..keep civil with GWS. DS..Id probably agreee that our strike rate in the past has lefft a bit to be desired. Ive got my fingers crossed somewhat, that the current officialdom at Dees have a few more smarts about them. After the dust settles a little later today Id expect the media hyhenas to start focussing on the very notion of level of compensation. I know its already started here and there but Im inlcined to htink it will really heat up. Many vested parties in all of this. . We arent alone in having a player nicked. Ours just happens to be the most expensive and hihgest placed so Im expecting any fire into the arguments will hopefully drive up our position. The club doesnt need to actually be at hte front, jsut as long as its stoking. We need to play a balanced hand here....partly agrieved , partly deserving of highest return etc As someone once put it..Walk quietly , with a big stick !!

The Club will have known , as it does now that our compensation relies on many components. The finishing positon of the player related to his club, the various offers on the boards , amount of games etc etc.. Who say we are just laying down ? If Tom signs he signs.. bugger all we can do really short of putting a gun to his head is there !! Maybe the Club realised very early its best return was to play along. Make GWS pay top doillar....shine the trophy up a bit. I imagine the club has for some time had a committee , a working party etc totally focussed on garnering the best compensation possible. I think you may safely claim the dumbass title. All yours. Maybe RR is the Notsodumbass !! Whilst you seem to not add a lot to content other than snide and purile ramblings RR had the wherewithall and fortitude to back his stance with honesty. And he paid a price for it. Back about..a whole lot of posts I described two types of players for this modern era. One values the jumper and the other is new era , non specific allegiance player who dons a jumper and plays for it. But its never part of his soul. Trengove is the former, Scully the latter.. Scully's whole demeanor was always exhibiting the latter.. You wouldnt have gone. Have no doubt. You like myself I suspect, have values that reach into an older time. I dont begrudge Tom for his decision.Probably quite smart in many ways. I seriously think GWS will be dudded ( cruelled that is ). You re right in suggesting we need a Malthouse or Lyon...or someone of that ilk.We need their values.
