Looking forward to Trengove's image on the Banner

I truly suspect , if he was asked off camera and off the record that Lyon never really believed he was stil a chance. He might have hoped, buit didnt beleive. More the point he would have hoped Scully was the man he beleived he to be as opposed to the reality of who he has shown. Garry has a hard gig. He has to get things done in the nitty gritty whilst showing the world all is well and clam. He wants to appease the membership whilst having to deal with realities. Its all a song and dance show really. I dont htink either of Stynes or Lyon were conned. It was just teh brave face put on for the benefit of the club and its followers. Its politics as it applies to Sport.

Now lets go put that money to a better use. Trade week he we come

Weak weak weak you and others had the temerity to shout down anyone who had the gall to call into question young Tom's seemingly godlike teflon coated 'honesty' Well you can slink off to you little corner now. "I dont know" " I dont know" " "I dont know" if youd thought hard enough and applied much of that reason and logic that you do have it ought to have occured to you it was all a crock. Go Dees

My my...some of you have changed your tune . Im not bitter agaisnt Scully. I had every inkling this was happening, nothing made sense unless you took the view it was a sham, a charade and lo and behold , he was probaly not telling the whole and unequivocal truth. In simple terms for some. He was lying. Some may cling , for whatever reason works for them, that hes only just made up his mind ; but the more rational amongst us know this is a furphy. This day has been coming for months now. maybe close to a year as it was surely back in last Oct that the seeds were sown. Personally I think we are well rid of him. I dont think , unfortunately, he'll ever get to the lofty heights many think he will. GWS have paid well over the odds in my opinion. We are a proud club, with great tradition. Its values are not his and will never be. Dont judge the club by who has left but rather who remains Take the money and run young Tom. Enjoy your time with that bunch of mercenaries. Not sure how you'll go with an eternity of losing but good luck with that.. Now do some of you get it.???? Still trust in Tom ??? lol

I seriously doubt Jack would have wanted to go anywhere. Everything he does just reeks "Im a Demon" I just get the sense he wants to be a Melbourne premiership player. Hes on a mission and already has followers. Just an impression of course. I think GWS targeted their man

No, not at all.. I dont accept the legitiamcy of the idea that there was any real nned to wait at all. That is to say this is a show. If you accept they was no real direction one way or another and we had go through this charade til he made up his mind, then fine. Hes been resolute.. hes stuck to his plan.. He just didnt bother to share it with the masses. There are essentially two schools of thought. Those that still beleive theiur is some sort of decision looming. The other suggests we are merely waiting for an announcement of a decision made at some previous point in time. . Now on this there are copious divisions regard when that monent occured. In what manner DL has he shown TOTAL committment to the club ? Hes been a paid employee ...like the others. In inferring committment there must be some defintion of 'lack of committment" So what would that be ?

To get an idea of where we might al be in the not too distant future just look sideways to Basketball. Yes some are loyal in their manner ( some quite deeply) to a club. Many and now the most are journeymen in the main. . NRL isnt that much different. EPL is all but totally that bar a few here and there, but THEY are the exceptions not teh norm. It all didnt get that way overnight. Indeed some change was all but imperceivable of time. The more it got commercial and professional ( note the importance I place by order) the more mercenary and indifferent it all becomes. Many might be tempted to get narky and disgusted by it all and seek to vent but before you do ask yourself whos actually been dudded here. You, the club, the players, the game ? And then ask by whom. For mine the culprit is the AFL, and by that those charged with its safekeeping and health. In an almost distasteful rush to man the barricades of a fort not particualry under threat the game is being wedded shotgun like to a model that is diametrically opposite to the values that steep its founding constituents. The heritage that bore this game upheld certain values and these are being cast aside in haste to supposedly galvanise a code against all comers. At what expense ? Who's expense ? I suspect the games 'common' supporter. Strangely and ironically there is a fork in the road. There will come most likely tow ilk of players from here on in. Those that choose a jumper and those that choose a journey of non specific allegiance. We have even now at our own club examples of both. In my opinion one Tom Scully embodies the latter and Jack Trengove the former. Again the real culprit is the AFL who have soufght to use an almost Black Ops approach to serve its own end. In doing so there is and wiull be collateral damage. Integrity is the first victim. Loyalty will come next. Unfortuntaley for many should you take those two away then Relevance might follow suit.. Tom Scully is on his journey. Go Dees

Whilst I acknowledge yor view there DL. He doesnt present as a man challenged or in conflict. If anything he comes across as quite resolute. Granted , very few samples, sound or image to go on . The only real consistency now, and before ( pre AFL ) is to play football at its highest level, and in his own manner to play it well and to the best of his abilities. Thats the What and When, but as to for WHom< im not sure it really matters as much as many might consider. I think in some ways he does actually embody the new age footballer. No particular allegiance other than for whom he plays for on the day. I have no real problem with any of that. This cat and mouse game...thats another thing. Not totally of his own making, not once you cross a line. We're entering a brave new world of football my fellow Demons.

Lol...anyone would think this is EOW stuff...ffs.. Just a bit of good old fashioned subtefuge. He'll go we'll get something.. Season 2012 will be upon us and teh grass wil still be green. Anyone who lumps their happiness upon the fortunes of a club, or more particularly the inclusion of this player or that really needs to get a grip A sportsperson is upping and going for a sh!t load of money. How novel. This player hasnt really done much for us and Im sure well cope with his vacating just dandy. Lifes full of little disappointments. The waiting is nearly over.

If youd care to remember it wasnt their idea to be traded !!!. Scully is a willing participant. Hardly the same. But your entitled to believe what ever you like.

-
I was watching the TAC show..but got distracted.. supposed to be some commentary about compensations picks etc.. anyone catch it ? cheers
-
Im a bit surprised that there hasnt been a complete board set aside for Tom, let alone a thread !!
-
3rd party offers were there, but jumped on by Vlad.. its an equal playing field huh !!! lol . The AFL is making sure the 'move' all goes to plan. It works better for us to get as much 'positive " press as we can. This augments the position that the AFL needs to compensate us satisfactorily. its only an opinion I grant you.

The point is..the longer its played the higer the gain. You only play your best trump when it exacts a win. Play it all too early and everyone knows your cards. I suspect the clubhas known for ages what the offer was to Tom, but needed it outed. It does so by placing an ambut offer of its own. Forces GWS to fess up, sort of. We all know only the gist of the offers. We arent privy to the clauses and the bonuses etc etc. This will form part of any compensation. Dont for a moment underplay the impact of public sentiment also. Let the cat out of the bag too early and itll have no legs come time for serious barter . Theres much in haggling about timing and the opportunity to leverage the hard to quantify..i.e perceptions etc WE are now the litmus test for compensation. Not the Doggies..or the Crows..or Freo or anyone..its US. Were losing our "treasured" #1. No one else. Play it right and we'll possibly do ok in the long run. Stuff it up and all the wait will be for nought ( next to ) I trust the club
