This has been the crux of the angst in much of this for many ( myself included ). If youre staying why all the precious diva act, and it is one. If youre staying ( and always were ) then there isnt really a 'choice' just a when as such. And if only a when, then surely youd get all things out of the way at the earliest rather than the latest. You only stall if you ARE contemplating any decision of direction, or if yo want to make it look like a decision is still in the offing but want appearances to be appearances. If after all this he does stay, then ffs he ought to go sit in the naughty corner all preseason for acting the goose. But i still dont see this as the outcome. Going to be interesting to see how the new Coach ( and assoc FD ) go about any reno. Is gong to be a reno ? ..or a rebuild. I.e take much back to scratch and reload. Taking the nalogu further you have to reveal the true and sound founcations in order to get anywhere. Well anywhere that will last longer than 5 min. Much of our footy ability is not there. The no -compromise tackling , teh play as a team stuff. The sense of purpose and direction. All missing. Lots of 'individuals" with some show of ability but no cohesion really. The coach will have to go back to basics.. reinforce the structure and then worry about the trimmings. Where will we be come 2013's end ? A the start of this year I made a bet with my wife ( A MAggie ) that Melbourne would be in the GF come 2014. Thought is was a reasonable idea back then.. Looking a bit shaky at present. Id be happy enough if we werent constantly revisiting the same rubbish and the end of every season. Oh its fine, weve got a couple of likely lads showing promise...a few more seasons and we'll be cranking. Its like a broken record

Talking optimistically about Melbourne going forward reminds me of Real Estate speak whereby , if one was to hang off the chimney and contort themselves sieways and upward and squint really hard and given the tree in front is blowing over sufficiently then you can see the water. ..i.e For Sale, Home with Bayviews !! This is how we go about evaluating Melbourne....you have to get very keen about not much to sniff even the modicum of anything. Its deja vu all over again !!

Theyve been quite a few names linked to GWS that didnt materialise. Theyve really only had a couple defect to date. There arent that many names left asssociated with a move and GWS have been adamanrt that theres a few left to announce. Now with Ward fessing up the likely spot(s) left are looking more and more likely to include one Tom Scully, as soon as he makes his announcement , I mean mind up They still had a big wad of moula left to throw around ! Id imagine the club is well overn this now and will be encouraging somethign forthcoming at the earliest.

Ive personally thought this decision is quite old now. I also have a sneaking suspicion the CLub knows in most ways but the formality. I suspect the Club now is saying..lets get on with it. We all have to move forward..yadda yadda yadda. I await tomorrows presser of course..just my opinion
