  1. Of course it's not that simple. Abbott knows what he is doing. He is much smarter than most give him credit for. He is an awkward communicator but a thoughtful and calculating person. Abbott is destabilising the (lost) Government by advocating centre right policy for the centre right party.
  2. So it is sniping by Abbott to argue for Liberal Party values? I don't think it is. Rudd leaked and did all he could to wreck the Gillard Government. Abbott is just spruiking what most Liberal voters want and putting his name to it.
  3. Jack Watts can't get a game in the JLT cup due to his training standards at the moment. I wonder how old mate Colin Sylvia would go with the current regime?
  4. Is it sniping by Abbott to encourage centre right policies as an elected member of a centre right party? And he also has the guts to put his name to it and say it openly. This whole blaming Abbott for Turnbull's poor polling is farcicle. Turnbull ran the worst election campaign of the moder era. Is that Abbott's fault too? Turnbull was well behind in the polls before Abbott started saying the obvious about RETs. Perhaps I am letting my bias influence my thinking but I don't think Abbott has done much wrong.
  5. I don't normally post about soccer but thought I'd see if this had been mentioned. It seems to me like sacking Norm Smith except worse. If Goodwin wins us a premiership I want a statue of him at the G and a liscence for him to coach as long as he likes.
  6. I'm sorry for your German Shepard. Unfortunately, I can't understand the rest of your post. He wasn't a guide dog was he?
  7. 3 months after his passing, the ABC has changed their tune and he is now a divisive dictating figure. I guess none of their readers care now. It's a bit like all the climate records that make front page news and are later retracted quietly. Back when he passed the ABC presented him as a fun loving, cigar smoking, hero. So glad my taxes are being spent well.
  8. I like Pederson but... swap him for Carey, Dermie or J Brown and it is a premiership side.
  9. Jetta, O Mac, Lewis Hunt, T Mac, Hibberd Jones, Tyson, Stretch Petracca, Pederson, Watts Garlett, Hogan, Kent Foll: Gawn, Viney, Salem Int: Vince, Brayshaw, Oliver, Melksham O Mac would want to play well because Frost has a lot going for him. Jones will relish an outside role this year. His foot skills are under rated because he is so tough, bald and has tatts. JKH waiting in the wings and will make a go of it when he gets a chance. Same with Joel Smith.
  10. Not sure why this has been bumped but there are 2 players in the modern era who I have seen play 1 game and walked away thinking wow he could be elite. Viney and Hogan. Exciting year for both.
  11. No ProDee called you out. The inversion doesn't work because centre right is free thinking. The left is for followers. I know your opinion on gay marriage, climate change, Donald trump, big government etc...
  12. I'm on the right. What issues am i supposed to be avoiding that don't suit my agenda? What collective am i scared to break rank and stray from?
  13. I will hold your bet on Trump not lasting 100 days. Even money. How much do you want on it?
  14. Still nothing from all those I have written to. i just asked for one study showing non-drinkers have a mortality rate even equal to heavy drinkers. They just don't seem to exist, despite extensive studies.
  15. Choke - what if your taxes, you work all your life for, go to the ABC who have an obvious bias against your political opinion?
  16. I'm going to quote myself because the AFLWL isn't as popular as it could be yet. The Dees are flying and could easily play off in the GF. Get on the girls. We beat Carlton and are in it to win it. Go Dees
  17. I hate to bring up the 80's again (I don't really) but as a kid I had a solar power radio and used to see on the news universities competing in solar power car races. Solar power was the future. Back then computers the size of a house couldn't do what my phone can now. Technology has come on exponentially but solar seems to have been left behind. I don't think solar power as we know it now is the answer or will ever be the answer. Don't even get me started on windmills.
  18. Choke - regardless if I agree with what you write, or not, I appreciate it. You're not beholden to any one line of thinking and this is rare for lefties. I like that.
  19. In all the nostoligia my question to Earlhood seems to have been missed. If your beliefs haven't changed in 50 years (as you wrote) are you progressive now?
  20. This is by far and away the biggest week in the Melbourne Football Club's women's history. We play Carlton on Saturday and simply must win to keep our premiership chances alive. Carlton like us, are sitting at 2-1 and in a short season where top of the ladder plays second for the premiership, this is do or die. The Melbourne Football Club are the founders of this great game and pioneers of women's football. It means a lot to us. We want to and deserve to win the first women's league premiership. The Melbourne Football Club drafted Daisy before there was even an AFWL. Prior to that she had won six league best and fairests playing for the Darebin Football Club. Daisy was in the bests for the dees in the first two weeks but was finally moved into the midfield last week and was a clear best afield in our third win against the pies. We want Daisy to win the best player of the league in the first year of women's football. It should be the Daisy Pearce medal going forwards. Do yourself a favour and support Daisy and the Dees this week http://www.melbournefc.com.au/video/2015-09-12/best-and-fairest-daisy-pearce-speech
  21. Yet i imagine despite not changing your beliefs in 50 years you probably still see yourself as being progressive? When i went to primary school in the 80's i was too young to have formed political opinions but the boys went to the boys toilets and the girls went into the girls. You couldn't wish or identify your way into the other one. We also breathed out carbon dioxide and it wasn't pollution back then. We also played team sports where the score was kept and the idea was to win.
  22. IT was great big Jake Spencer got a game and he took the opportunity and performed well. Unfortunately, Jack Watts on the back of his first top 5 finish in the club b&f, was left out of the side because the coaches believed he hadn't shown enough on the training track. This is not rumour or speculation. Read the T Mac quotes above or listen to the Max Gawn radio interview. I realise not everyone can be given a game but the reasons Jack Watts wasn't are very clear. Hopefully Jack can train the house down over the coming weeks and cement his spot before round 1.
  23. Have you listened to the Max Gawn interview? I'm paraphrasing but says something along the lines of Jack Watts would be in the starting 22 on talent but at this stage was unable to get into the 24 man side. Then goes onto to say Weid has been training well and was picked as a result. You don't need to be a genius to read between the lines.
