  1. AFL under Vlad, Gil, and presumably Dil had a longstanding mantra - don’t open an investigation into something you don’t already know the answer to It’s why Adrian Anderson got sent to Coventry for raising to spectre of ‘tanking’
  2. Yep going from 2 to 4 with finals was part of the points allocation change I assume
  3. seems certain that the change to samoan heritage is going to be brought in...for 2026 and beyond some scuttlebutt that it will require clubs with samoan nga picks to show 'evidence' that they've had them in their academy and helped develop them / divert them from going down other sporting paths sounds utterly make believe to me, so i can only assume gc17, gw$ have samoan players coming thru
  4. announced on pravda today that the '2 nga picks if you make finals' has been rolled back; four available for the franchises regardless of whether or not they make finals
  5. he's one game in to a new season and role, can we just give him a wee bit of time before declaring he's done? he's playing an entirely new position to that in which he's consistently been one of the best mid-sized forwards in the competition credits in the bank, give him time to adjust
  6. No chance Small deal now, back himself to become a mid, then a big contract awaits Star defender; moving into midfield the big query
  7. so bains and watt are out?
  8. from my understand zurich needs certain things from the brayshaw camp and / or afl in order to move to the next phase for whatever reason, those obligations haven't been fulfilled
  9. it you think mcdonald's a turnover merchant, what're yr thoughts on may when he tries to pinpoint those 25m stab passes i have conniptions
  10. indeed some of petty's reading of the ball in flight and ability to spoil / intercept mark was fantastic to see on the weekend - he's such a different player behind the ball as opposed to in front of it that we've got a fourth equally capable performer on t mac abe to sub in there in lieu of one of these three when there's injuries is fantastic i seriously think plugger mac is one of the most underrated players in the competition, and has been a such a good player for us across the course of his career
  11. currently egm for football for gw$ former list manager at footscray, and prior to that dev coach at flagmantle post-retirement
  12. in terms of key defenders in the competition, it's only harris andrews, sam taylor, and jacob weitering that are competing with him as the best tall defender in the competition i want him back there with lever and petty; that's our core tall trio behind the ball
  13. Asked a few q’s - it’s not a ceo at another club, and it’s not someone at a club in Melbourne that’s currently thought to be favourite Jason McCartney seems to be one of the folks who is moving thru the process - someone else mentioned him earlier in this thread
  14. you missed the 'first rule'
  15. pfft, that's yesterday's press conference; first truth in football is 'always lie' what matters are what convos his partner is having on instagram baits where she's not saying no to moving back to vic...
  16. crazy tall line-up there @WERRIDEE i'd go...based upon one game in the season... staring xxxiii B: McVee - May - Petty HB: Windsor - Lever - Salem C: Langdon - Petracca - Lindsay HF: Fritsch - Turner - Chandler F: Johnson - van Rooyen - Pickett Foll: Gawn - Oliver - Viney I/c: Bowey - Tholstrup - Rivers - Sparrow Sub: Langford Emerg: Jefferson - McDonald - Sharp next (casey) xxii B: Bonner - McDonald - Howes HB: Sestan - Adams - Hore C: Billings - Culley - Sharp HF: Spargo - Fullarton - Brown F: Melksham - Jefferson - Henderson Foll: Campbell - Woewodin - Laurie I/c: Kentfield - Verrall - Mentha - Smith unavailable: McAdam, Moniz-Wakefield i was a bit disappointed by sharp's second efforts in round 1
  17. what did the ox have when he made his first comeback, super quick? the thinking around acl recoveries / returns seems to wax and wane a lot as to whether to go quicker or slower as required
  18. ldu over allen over butters for mine, solely as the first two are free agents and the latter will require a trade to be executed to bring them in i think you'll find that a lot of the gus $$ have been passed around to other contracts, as well as part of his payout, with portions of his contract paid out in each year of his deal we have to pay a lot of his contract in the final few years in full it's annoying
  19. no, it's going to have to be thru the draft our two nga picks coming up are toby sinnema at the end of this year as a wing, marcus prasad in 2026 is a (very) small forward
  20. current ceos at other melbourne-based clubs... carlton: brian cook - unlikely, he's only been there a couple of years and it was seen as his 'last gig' at the time collingwood: craig kelly - no chance, he's running that club like a fiefdom essendon: craig vozzo - has made the move from meth coke recently, his tenure and brad scott are tied together footscray: ameet bains - professional ceo, been at the dogs since 2017, time for a new challenge? hawthorn: ash klein - been there last than 18 months, unlkely north melbourne: jen watt - has a history with mfc, but only been there a bit over two years richmond: shane dunne - just over 6 months in the gig st. kilda: carl dilena - been there less than a year by process of elimination, ameet bains is the most likely, but jen watt is the 'cultural fit'
  21. His story is pretty incredible
  22. dingley filth? crom? pear puddy tatts bears us? bloods? gw$? very early in the season, but that means we are favoured by the competition being even, so best results for us would see: baggers draw peptides tiggas aints meth coke us flagmantle gc17
  23. this has all the hallmarks of a request for a trade at the end of the season I’ll definitely be here, and [I have loved] my time here https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/trying-to-find-excuses-ex-curator-lashes-afl-over-adelaide-oval-call-20250317-p5lk51.html
  24. Shame, but hard to see him getting off on appeal
