It's speculation about his non performance that makes me think it's his thumb that's the issue.

JLT Round 2 vs. Carlton at Casey Fields
whatwhat say what replied to Wiseblood's topic in Melbourne Demons
Jack Watts to play or not, that is the real question... 25 man squad again? Perhaps: Hogan Salem Watts Petracca Viney Trengove Brayshaw Gawn Oliver Hibberd Stretch Frost Melksham Garland Vandenberg JKH Weideman O McDonald Hunt ANB Bugg Spencer Garlett Jetta Smith ?? -
The thing for me with VandenBerg is the 'default' chf role he plays whilst also being able to run through the midfield. He's built like the proverbial brick outhouse and isn't afraid to throw his weight around. The coaching dept love his work rate and when he plays well we tend to go okay. I'd argue that when Watts plays well we tend to win - he's our barometer.

Who would you like to sponsor the club?
whatwhat say what replied to Chris's topic in Melbourne Demons
I said the same - gotta be a known name as sponsor. The way it's going I'm half expecting my ATM / Aussie ATM to get a go again as per the Power's bad days when it was mates of the media manager who came to the rescue at the last moment. -
The amount of whinging going on about this is extraordinary. They announced when the broadcast rights deals were confirmed that Telstra afl live pass would be truncated to seven inches; no one bothered to pay attention. These companies are here to make money not provide a benevolent service. The watchafl international geolocation can be tricked if yr running an OTT vpn service, and it will also have all the fox footy mag shows available on it - it's pretty decent value really, certainly if I didn't have foxtel it's what I'd be buying.

Nasty hip injury to GC17's Sam Day - sucked on one of those sticks on ground the pain was so bad.
-
Salem should be one of our best mids as he can play inside and out and he's so clean with his disposal as a rule
-
Me and the kids drove into Hunt and Petracca repeatedly on the dodgems.

Spencer and Smith were two who staked a claim for round 1 early on in the preseason based on yesterday. What I found fascinating to watch was the way Vince, Lewis and Jones were switching between defensive, inside and outside mids. I wonder if that's a sign of things to come in 2017 and beyond.
-
Ah yep, Hibberd too. Their outs better than our outs, i guess. A win is a win is a win

We went to pieces mentally in the last five minutes of the second and fourth quarters - I think greater concentration and drilling in what's expected from the senior players will help. From what I saw, the fringe players will struggle to get in due to the greater depth in our side's make-up. Spencer, Smith look likely candidates to be best 22 in our side come round 1 - the waxing and waning btw Spencer and Gawn was exciting to watch, just like at the Cats game a couple of years back. Smith just looks all class coming off half-back, but I guess at the moment it's between him and Hibberd, and for mine Hibberd wins? Interesting with Melksham, he essentially played the 'small defender' role. For mine, Jetta is a walk up start for that gig come Round 1. JKH and ANB were okay, but nothing amazing. They played their roles but didn't strike me as pushing towards the best side. Lewis, Jones and Vince swapping between half-back, wing, and inside mid was really good to see. Jones on the outside was arguably the most threatening of the three for mine, but Lewis and Vince were good too. Some don't like him, but vandenBerg is a monty to be in there come Round 1 for mine. His attack on the ball and the man is really great to watch. Only issues for mine was how easily T Mac got lead up the ground by Cloke and that Wagner got injured, and his loss definitely hurt our structural set-up. Looking forward to the next hit-out.

From our best 22 you could argue we were five down - jetta, watts, tyson, frost and kent. how many were the dogs down?

Dees win by a goal. Interesting game.
-
Our composure has gone to pieces in the last five minutes

Stretch is super

Hogan injured?
-
no way, loving the shaggy look. but tending to agree with the rd 1 prospects.
-
clayton oliver, my goodness he is going to be a good footballer
-
agreed. he can't kick properly and trac gives hospital handballs - fortunately things that they can work on.
-
i'll say it again - brayshaw is a very poor kick who regularly misses targets. under no pressure we had an easy 50 entry and brayshaw turned it over - and they got a goal as a result
-
outstanding mark by hogan, and a smoother run-up to drill the goal
-
yes, they're not saying knee or ankle, but possibly something with the fibula.
-
shocking decision making by melksham to try to tap it rather than take possession
-
they don't waste possession
-
they've dominated last five mins
