  1. god i hope not love the idea of an in-form and switched-on garlett being in the side, and i really like what lockhart offered in his first two games at afl level, so... IN: lockhart, garlett, jetta OUT: spargo, c wagner, j wagner B: Jetta - Frost - Hore HB: Salem - O Mac - Hibberd ? Harmes - Jones - Brayshaw HF: Petracca - T Mac - Hunt F: Preuss - Weideman - Melksham Foll: Gawn - Oliver - Viney I/c: Stretch - Fritsch - Garlett - Lockhart Emerg: Spargo - Petty - C Wagner - J Wagner ostensible best squad currently injured: may, lewis, lever, kolodjashnij, hannan, vandenberg, j smith (also jkh, who is probably in that 28-32nd player on the list)
  2. saints are quick, and are playing winning football; given our below average form you'd be a fool NOT to be worried one thing that they're definitely not doing is scoring - high of 86, low of 66, two other scores in the 70s they're obviously not getting it inside 50 as much as us (average of 52.8 to our 59.8), but they are going at nearly 50% efficiency once they do get it in (we're at a paltry 38.9% by comparison) their defensive 50 work has been fairly mid-level (avg 9.3 to our 13.8 tackles i50) they rebound from 50 better than us by a fairly big margin, but their desire to play on and run with it will really test us (9.5 bounces per game compared to our 3) their game plan is not entirely dissimilar to the peptides in that it's all about fast ball movement and getting players out the back to help facilitate that if they pull it off it looks terrific, but if they don't hit the targets under increased pressure that you'd hope we'll bring, then there's a good chance they will themselves be susceptible to turnover themselves as they'll be out of the position and they don't track back that well we can win, but honestly...who knows in this nutzoid season
  3. aflua seems to have the 2018 laws of the game, but not the 2019 version: https://aflua.com.au/laws/
  4. Scoring has to be at a low for the afl era, surely? GC17-Carltank another low scoring snoozer
  5. yes, he played against henry walsh (sam walsh from carlton's little - but much taller - brother) in the draw walsh had 20 hitouts to bradtke's 15, 3 disposals to bradtke's 11, a mark apiece, and no goals for walsh i believe there's a replay available on the nab league app but i have not watched
  6. sounds like a fair response from last week then!
  7. he's so balanced i'm never expecting him to have a 'breakout' game tbh; i want consistency from him if he can be consistent at having these 16-25 possession @ 70-80% efficiency, 1-3 goals, 3-6 tackles, 3-6 mark, 3-6 i50 games that i'd rather he manage that sort of output on a week-to-week basis than have one 30 disposal, 5 goal bog performance and a whole lot of 10 disposal, no effect on the game games most important thing for me is that he reduces his turnovers - going at 4 a game thus far this year
  8. my general vibe is that most on the board think we should have been playing him, but unfortunately copping an injury in the vfl praccy game that coincided with jlt2 and then average form as a ruckman in the vfl saw him have to wait to debut i never quite understood why he didn't play alongside gawn in jlt2, given that the aim has always been, presumably, to play gawn in the ruck with preuss as a relief ruck who is a massive unit as a forward target i stick by the roos' maxim that you recruit blokes to play them in the 1s, not the 2s very happy to see him make an impact and fingers crossed the shoulder is all good
  9. best bit was the end when gawn said 'if we don't do it again in ten days it means absolutely nothing'
  10. footscray to surprise the filth gw$ to lose to the puddy tatts at the taxpayer's stadium bears to continue their run against the peptides pear to knock off the tiggas the future tasmania to beat the cows meth coke to belt the jokers gc17 to knock off carltank aints to knock off poos&wees and continue their surprise season gotta say, it's VERY nice to have all eight remaining games ahead of us after a win
  11. it's always hard to tell when the camerawork and the commentary are bad in unison
  12. be interesting to see what happens with preuss and o mac, the latter of who copped concussion brayshaw copped a knock to his knee, i think it was? would be great to see some vfl form from garlett and anb will lockhart's back by right for him to play in the vfl in a couple of days? sounds like jetta might be touch-and-go for in ten days, but anything can happen in ten days IN: jetta, lockhart OUT: spargo, j wagner B: Jetta - Frost - Fritsch HB: Salem - O Mac - Hibberd ? Brayshaw - Jones - Harmes HF: Petracca - T Mac - Hunt F: Preuss - Weideman - Melksham Foll: Gawn - Oliver - Viney I/c: Stretch - Hore - C Wagner - Lockhart Emerg: Spargo - Kolodjashnij - ANB - Garlett
  13. blessed relief incredible defensive effort in the second two and a half quarters leaders stepped up
  14. 6: gawn 5: petracca 4: jones 3: salem 2: preuss 1: oliver
  15. controlling the footy for a bit!
  16. i honestly don't know what we need to do to get a free kick
  17. what on earth do we need to go to get a free
  18. how on earth was hore iso'd on buddy where the hell are ya, frost???
  19. six, but much of a muchness we should be at least five goals down; our accuracy keeping us close thus far this year
  20. buddy way too good for frost
  21. it really does feel like that, doesn't it? we started the year as a bookie's favourite and haven't look competitive at all to start the year, beset by injury and atrocious form
  22. we're finishing stone motherless last, aren't we?
  23. fmd...preuss has just done his shoulder
  24. frost now playing franklin 15-20m away fmd worst key defender playing afl currently
