that ground is going to be shifting sands on saturday. frightening really. yet they'll no doubt say it's perfectly fine, nothing to see. scary for the players.

Define 'young' - is it five seasons and under, or three, or less than 50 games, or 100? Hogan would be definite top five under any of that criteria you'd think.

Gotta be GW$. Took the best 17 year olds out of drafts when we were down and a rabble desperate for quality kids, stole our #1 picked player, dominated drafts as we continued to struggle along, and currently have a winning record over us, one of few teams they do already in their young life. I loathe them.

with administrators night crawler. along with about 420 other people waiting for their homes to be finished, we're in a holding pattern right now. it's unleashing the suckitude, that's for sure.

jesse is better than other emerging forwards of the same age - e.g. daniher, moore, schache, etc. - but clearly is not at the same level as others as yet. he's tracking beautifully tho. tom lynch (gc17 version) is good, but #1? no fear.

they had a polo shirt sponsor for richo and then the buggers went belly-up, taking the 20% of my house they haven't built with them! bloody watersun... back to the top at hand.,.. our brand has been seriously damaged by ten or more years of unmitigated failure. as praha said, we are a very small club with a very concentrated supporter base and limited exposure. i also think the general public is actually more positive toward the dees than most fans.

Best 22 for Round 1, 2017

I wholeheartedly agree. Teams should always be defenders thru to emergencies! -
they might have been announced after afl took over (november for adele tix, september for docklands buyout), but i would suspect that the dates were already long booked.

ominous.

yup, signed until end of 2018.

as a general rule, sponsorship at any level of the club is handled by the corporate affairs / sponsorship manager. the likely parties involved in satisfying client requirements would be de crespigny as chief commercial officer, tom parker as strategic relationships manager, julian heinz as manager of partnerships, and orry lack as senior account and new partnerships manager. satisfying a sponsor at club level is notoriously hard work and i'm sure they're all doing their level best to get a satisfactory outcome for all parties.

Big blow for Col and our defensive depth. Dunn will be missed?

AFLW Round 7 - Melbourne V Fremantle

Dominant so far. So judging by the live ladder if we really bury them and Crows win by some small margin we could still make the GF even if they win? -
What's Nev Jetta worth to the team?

Couldn't they end up with two top 5 picks if Lakers don't get top 3 lottery protected, so they can lands say pick 1-3 (their own) and 4-5 (the lowest the Lakers pick can fall?). Lonzo Ball's dad would be so [censored] if he got picked by an eastern team; he wants his boy in purple and gold. -

boston-philly rivalry could be huge for years to come. can kawhi take the spurs past gw$ in the west this year? as awesome as it would be to see cavs-gw$ again, i'd personally be just as happy with celtics-spurs final series. i'm personally hoping spurs can pip gw$ for the top spot in the west, okc claim 7th, and first round of playoffs sees kd back in okc with westbrook going mental for 7 games. -

2017 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch

carltank supporting mate is celebrating already. he's convinced they're finishing stone motherless and will appeal for a priority pick, have picks 1 and 2 at the table, and pick up these two potential gw$ boys. i personally think if that does happen it's far more likely sos will give picks 1 and 2 to gw$ for some magic beans, but whatever... -

as you say, they don't have positions. they just rotate through. i just the like the idea of the senior brother as the last line of defence! -

one of the first picked every week for mine. really hoping he kick starts 2017 with a ripper game against the saints. -
With the news that Hibberd is out, and up to 17 listed players turning out for Casey, I agree that the line-up for Round 1 is far from settled. Given his loss, I would much prefer Smith to Garland as the extra 'small' tall down back. I simply don't rate the latter. I thought Pedo would be best 22 for us this year as the spare parts tall, but his lack of preseason and weight loss has me concerned for his durability and start to the year - I think that we've played Gawn and Spencer all of the preseason, we will continue with it for the regular season. I hope that Watts and Jetta both play - I'm far more concerned about the latter's limited start to the year as he's a mainstay in the team for me; if the coaches prefer the potential of Weideman for the proven unreliability of Watts then I'd personally be okay with it. Disappointed, as I fully believe he's a best 22 player, but boy oh boy he must've stuffed up. All last year we basically played 7 defenders - Vince would be the first choice defensive rotation but the likes of Jones, Lewis, Salem, Brayshaw, Stretch, Bugg can all contribute there I think, rotating through as that loose. I'm really disappointed vandenBerg is crocked again - I think he's really important for our forward rotation with Petracca, Garlett, and Kent. If the latter doesn't play it's a big loss as he's a player with pace that moves up and runs and carries with the ball. We don't have enough of our mids do that. Given his last start, I want Oliver as starting midfield. He's a contested beast. We will need a heap of rotations against the Saints I think. I'm really worried about their midfield dominance and their quick, zippy players particularly as I'm most worried about our propensity to turn it over and then see our zone defence cut to ribbons by quick and accurate ball movement. B: Jetta - T Mac - Smith HB: Hunt - O Mac - Melksham C: Lewis - Jones - Vince HF: Petracca - Hogan - Bugg F: Spencer - Watts - Garlett Foll: Gawn - Oliver - Viney I/C: Salem - Brayshaw - Tyson - Stretch Emerg: Garland - Weideman - Harmes

I thought last year we played into their hands both times and we got cocky and over confident both times and then panicked when they got a run on both times. Hoping it changes in 2017.
