magic beans? wines is going nowhere - will be their next skipper i fully expect we may target a free agent - gaff, dahlhaus, lynch (unlikely unless we lose hogan), etc. - as vince is ooc and we need to keep bringing talent in in order to get better

  3. pre-emptive move - all clubs are preparing for the afl stopping clubs owning pokies licenses, whilst at the same time taking in excess of $10m from crownbet to be official wagering partner, plus all the residuals from the other gambling companies the afl hypocritical? well, i never...
  4. i'd hazard a guess, if hogan isn't in it, that these are the top 6 untradeables: gawn, oliver, petracca, viney, t mac, jones (plus all the other veterans like jones by default, more or less)
  5. Genuine superstar potential

gawn was recovering from a knee injury and built like a twig when he joined us

this i also think it has to be factored in that he and curnow are very different sorts of players for us, hogan plays the curnow role weideman will ideally be able to pinch hit in the ruck as well as be a tall marking option it would be fab to have curnow, but it'd also be fab to have martin, fyfe, sloane etc. etc - we have to work with what we've got not worry about what we didn't i'm still convinced weid will be a very good player for us
  8. they generally toe the line, but purple barrett tends to sink the slipper
  9. AFL media is not the afl; independent editorial
  10. slower than blease, faster than trengove!
  11. I personally think we’re going to need him to play default chf if t mac is missing

My kids all had Dees pjs They had Schwab’s logo all over them at weird angles everywhere
  13. no way the afl will split from asada if it means they stop getting all the govt funding that is a requirement for asada agreement
  14. i presume you mean brett lovett? my 33 years watching the dees i'd go this as order of great defenders for the dees: 1. sean wight 2. alan johnson (expecting this spot to very quickly be filled by lever, but really he could end up being the best defender we've had) 3. brett lovett 4. matthew whelan 5. adem yze 6. jared rivers 7. graeme yeats 8. james frawley 9. neville jetta 10. anthony ingerson
  15. t mac report - another metatarsal injury ffs: https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/melbourne-swingman-tom-mcdonald-in-doubt-for-round-1-clash-with-geelong-at-the-mcg/news-story/47f971e45c3636e4fef6068f80175a56 looks like jones needs injections to manage his back, and lewis is battling

those patches posted by dedokter - but especially the first one - both get my vote as, like our current logo, they're only red and blue no white in our emblem thanks our current logo is my favourite of all of ours tho pure class:
  17. Had no chance to take three kids but once they found it wasn’t at Luna Park this year their interest was dissipated I would have loved to interact with the Dees players when I was 7-11, but kids these days just don’t see it as that exciting to meet professional athletes
  18. I always thought he had the capacity to be the second best mid taken in that draft class, just behind Kelly Had no idea Bont would become a mid or Cripps would go to his Oliver-like level Still think Salem can be right up there with those mentioned Such a smooth mover
  19. most ridiculous fine ever
  20. it's going to be interesting to see where he fits into the side by the end of 2020 a permanent midfielder? a dusty-a-like who can switch btw mid and forward? a primary forward with occasional stints in the middle? just how good can he become - clearly he's a fairly exciting talent, but at the moment he only finished 7th in the b&f last year despite being now widely lauded by the stats boffins as a 'elite' for his position - remains to be seen but definitely one of the most exciting talents at the dees seen since, well, since jesse hogan joined the club

No white on any logo ever again thanks We are red and blue Melbourne Demons, not Footscray!! Dave Larkin’s logo = best logo

i expect he'll stay and be made their captain i'd have him, absolutely, but i think in order to entice him to leave you'd be paying big $$ and quite frankly we have other priorities
  23. from all reports sloane is headed to the saints and tom lynch is on his way collingwood, both for huge money it'll be interesting to see what happens with gaff...we've chased him a couple of times, haven't we?
