  1. i'm going to put it out there... he should have gone when he wasn't made ceo he's overseen a failed regeneration of the football department, with too many stories about conflicts in the coaching box, conflicts in the playing list, and misbehaviour off the field he's been part of failed department and needs to go
  2. tomlinson and langdon have been brought in to play the wings and carry the ball, and already for what felt like half the first quarter we were playing tomlinson in the ruck - let's leave him where he was brought in to play rather than trying to turn tomlinson into a chb or chf fwiw, tomlinson lead the metres gained for the entire match by some margin - he had 503 (more than dangerfield, cats' best, by 30) with viney (433), salem (288), langdon (281), may (280), and petracca (259) our only players over 250 compared to 6 over 300 for the cats previous week langdon was the only player to get over 450, with salem miles back on 355 our next best
  3. i'm in the same boat re goodwin; really not liking what we've seen so far in the regular season at all it's harder to judge the board, but they shifted their own goalposts with the introduction of the new ceo, who is in his second year but we really need to see some action beyond' please give us money so we can survive' what actual effect will going to the afl to survive the covid crisis have beyond not being in debt to them? what are the timeframes on any proposed development would be a start - even around when an announcement beyond 'some time before 2022' would force them to have some degree of accountability they've put the onus on the afl and aflw coaches demanding finals every year; if the new ceo's sole kpi is a home base, they need to do more than just announce an 'intention' to have one near the g
  4. we don't need another 29 year old key defender
  5. given that a clear mandate in the 2022 blueprint was finals every year and a home base close to the mcg, how long is the legrope on these failing to happen? if goodwin doesn't guide us to finals in 2020, is there a getout clause of his extended contract? what are the timelines around a decision being announced for a homebase and where does that position pert as ceo going forward?
  6. small forwards are the new key forwards
  7. having now read the article, presuming you mean <insert emoticon for recycling cardboard boxes>
  8. he left adelaide to go 'home' to brisvegas; can't see him leaving there
  9. funnily enough, watching green play against the filth, i thought EXACTLY this - very much in the clarry mould
  10. because - unlike oliver and to a lesser extent viney - he only works hard offensively, not defensively
  11. nothing; afl will do everything they can to make sure it continues we all know that the only reason this season is going on is cos of broadcast $$ to keep clubs afloat
  12. only reason this season is going on is cos of broadcast $$ to keep clubs afloat
  13. bt was banging on about this during the coverage brayshaw can only play one position - inside mid he was pretty okay yesterday i thought; still doesn't work hard defensively but he's not on his pat malone there
  14. yep most bizarre season ever playing at the g i maintain you MUST have two actual key forwards my ins / outs don't change, personally...but based upon seeing the second half again and lockhart's behaviour he really should be dropped...although i still struggle to justify why jetta was dropped in the first place IN: weideman, bennell, jetta OUT: melksham, avb, lockhart
  15. unlikely to see him for the remainder of the year
  16. either both sides were very ordinary or both sides were very mediocre or both sides were very bad or both sides were very good i think it was sort of somewhere in between ugly contest played between two evenly-matched defensive sides; reminded me a lot of the tiggas v the filth game on resumption neither side could really effectively break down the other's defensive structures it was a seesawing battle of skill error and general ineptitude i was expected to get absolutely hammered, so technically we did far better than i expected still disappointing, but we've had the weirdest start to the resumption of any club, having also had our rd 1 effected as we knew the season was in jeopardy before we took to the field gonna be a weird old year
  17. i dunno if they'll change much considering we're going to play on a smaller ground, but... if you're going to play vandenberg and melksham as default chf's...why not just pick a tall who can play as chf? out: avb, melksham in: weideman, bennell i'd do jetta for lockhart too, but i don't think the selection committee will
  18. 6: oliver 5: petracca 4: brayshaw 3: harmes 2: tomlinson 1: gawn all mids and - for the most part - i thought we were beaten in the midfield! but our forwards were terrible and our defenders were merely okay it was a weird old game
  19. crows 2017-2020 = demons 2006-2009? came close with an ageing list, lost players to other sides, and now look utterly inept
  20. based on how rusty and then exhausted the peptides looked last night after one game in three months, i don't hold out a huge amount of hope tbh cats by 42
  21. or we could pay significant coin to a player who, on a reduced list of 35, has shown zero ability to get on the park for the last two years i still think he's headed north
  22. fogarty just did his shoulder unfortunately he might be another in a long list of player's whose body is simply not made for the rigours of afl-level football
