  1. they talked about this on the real footy podcast a couple of months ago his body is clearly not made for afl
  2. He was, but he also had good form in the vfl leading up to his debut He had actually earned it
  3. whatwhat say what replied to dazzledavey36's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
He’s worth a first round / second round to the Swans and a second / third round to another club If he’s leaving the Swans he’ll have a share of suitors As others have said, he’s a classic nqr / good ordinary player
  4. It’ll be interesting to see if he goes straight down the coaching path or diverts to media He has an incredible football brain He’s been okay for us - our backline looks far more organized with him instructing His experience in the finals last year was invaluable
  5. he's barely fit enough to run out three-quarters of a vfl game and blows up after a half of afl his fitness level is coming from a long, long way back
  6. the lack of promo for this evening indicates a fairly lowkey set of inductees, i suspect?
  7. tom morris on the couch said that may and lever will defo be in for queen's birthday
  8. two games against the filth could be the selection panel's deciding vote! both should make it; both are super ruckmen
  9. i disagree - carlton's list is a hodge-podge mix that is pretty average too many tall defenders who lack strength (jones is easily the best of an average bunch, marchbank, weitering, plowman, plus goddard as a rookie) too many poorly skilled mids (as good as cripps is he's a terrible kick for the most part, dow is an awful kick, sps is super average, and fisher is tiny and not skilled enough to make up for it, matt kennedy and setterfield more failed gw$ recruits) too many tall forwards who don't like body contact (mcgovern, curnow, mckay, and to a lesser extent kerr, who won't make the side while the other three are around) no real small forwards providing defensive pressure (pickett and garlett are the only ones and they're perma-crocked, while silvagni at least tries to tackle but just gets brushed aside by bigger and smaller oppo) too many injury-prone veterans (murphy, daisy, kreuzer, casboult, simpson and docherty is not old but hasn't played for coming up three seasons) the likes of walsh, dow, weitering, o'brien, fisher and stocker should be good, but how many times have we said that about kids who show something in their first year? if i was plucking the eyes outta the blues list there's not many players i'd be super keen on: cripps walsh mckay charlie curnow marchbank maybe weitering, fisher and sps jones as a veteran, but he's no better / worse than frost, really o'brien, stocker you have no real idea on them at this point the rebuild continues on and they have adelaide's first round pick in 2019 and then nothing til the third round
  10. he's so clearly our best player at the moment it's not funny
  11. bolton dropped the selection committee who picked him in it - 'here's all the people who picked me, half of whom are still involved with the club, who now just sacked me'
  12. if lever is fit enough to play, he plays i personally don't think he should be, but really if he's going to do his knee again it could happen at afl, vfl, or during an innocuous training incident i'd be curious to know whether a player is statistically more likely to do a knee at training than during a game; the prevalence of players doing an acl in training seems more common - i can think of four off the top of my head so far this year vs only doedee early in the season then dunn in the vfl in a match for this year, tho i'm sure it's happened to more players...actually add ward in too
  13. this peptides vs carltank match be the worst game i've seen this year and i watched every minute of our mob's 1 point victory over gc17
  14. i'm also in the camp that doesn't think lever has enough footy under his belt yet; but, then again, they played hannan and jkh off not much more of a footballing base, so.... IN: May, Salem, Lever, Hore OUT: Spargo, Stretch, O Mac, J Wagner B: Hore - May - Lever HB: Salem - Frost - Hibberd ? Jones - Harmes - Fritsch HF: Petracca - T Mac - Hunt F: T Smith - Weideman - Garlett Foll: Gawn - Oliver - Viney I/c: Brayshaw - Hannan - JKH - Baker Emerg: Spargo - Stretch - O Mac - J Wagner if lever does get left out, j wagner would be the in i'd have for him
  15. that was AWESOME
  16. the filth are like meth coke; they aren't playing particularly well but they're not losing
  17. Both named in vfl
  18. Add Lever and Sparrow to the injury list - neither named at either level this week
  19. Lever not named either
  20. 1: rowell 2: anderson 3: serong ?
  21. jones is one of most consistent midfielders; if he wants to play on he should get another year he's having a better year than anyone outside of gawn, harmes and (borderline) oliver
  22. because he has more perceived value worth remembering we gave up pick 23 for him god our trading of picks for players has been.......what's another word for atrocious?
  23. unfortunately i don't think he has any value whatsoever and any club who was 'in his ear' would be telling him that they'll pick him up as a delisted player
  24. yeah, it's an interesting time, particularly as you say for those mid-age players like stretch, anb and jkh - only possibly the middle one may be trade bait i personally think that with lewis a near-certainty to go that jones gets a reprieve, unless he a) chooses to go elsewhere or b) retires i would guess, from the senior list: baker - new deal (two years) garlett - gone frost - new deal (two years) jones - new deal (one year) / retire jkh - new deal (one year) / gone lewis - retire maynard - gone anb - new deal (two years) / trade bait j smith - new deal (one year) / retire stretch - gone weideman - new deal (two or three years) j wagner - gone / downgraded to rookie list and the rookies: chandler - new deal (one year) dunkley - new deal (one year) keilty - gone lockhart - new deal (two years, upgraded to senior list) t smith - gone c wagner - new deal (one year) bradtke - new deal (one year) walker - gone that'd leave minimum of four senior list spots and four rookie list spots, i think, before any trading even begins?
