  1. just signed a new one-year deal! his time is now...
  2. it'll be interesting to see what gw$ do with all of cameron (presuming he stays), himmelberg, finlayson, and riccardi being tall yet they're not really 'power' forwards but they're more mobile forwards - and they all want to play that same role finlayson extended his deal, can't see them moving riccardi on, cameron has been one of the best forwards in the game for the last half of the decade...
  3. good luck to him; he's good enough to play a role for an afl club for at least another contract, if not a couple
  4. from my understanding he's on significant money at the peptides no doubt he's a seriously talented player, but very injury prone and inconsistent if he was amenable to remaining in melbourne - which seems fraught with danger as he's tried to engineer two trades 'home' to sa since he joined the bombers - and you could spread his salary over more years, then we'd be fools not to enquire a talented player
  5. GEELONG WEEK 1 FINALS UNDER CHRIS SCOTT 2020 QF - Lost to Port Adelaide by 16 points 2019 QF - Lost to Collingwood by 10 points. 2018 EF - Lost to Melbourne by 29 points. 2017 QF - Lost to Richmond by 51 points. 2016 QF - Defeated Hawthorn by 2 points (Isaac Smith missed goal after siren). 2015 - Did not make finals. 2014 QF - Lost to Hawthorn by 36 points. 2013 QF - Lost to Fremantle by 15 points. 2012 EF - Lost to Fremantle by 16 points. 2011 QF - Defeated Hawthorn by 31 points. glorious
  6. pretty sure report was amended to make it clear burgess was on a one-year deal
  7. he's not on anything like that sort of coin frost was a -100m player - runs 15, kicks it 50, then stands still while the ball sails over his head 35m from his inevitable turnover
  8. very happy to keep both
  9. nfl side from memory - offered him a small fortune but he couldn't get out of the deal with the demons
  10. mahoney gone; richo gets his role
  11. come home jesse, come home
  12. pear tiggas footscray meth coke
  13. official?
  14. everyone knew gawn was crocked; it's why he missed a succession of games towards the end of the year, and he clearly couldn't jump properly gawn on one knee >>>>>> any other ruckman in the competition
  15. it's not been the same since the daily mail dudes took over the editorial aspect about two or so years ago; the ethos of the site's reporting really changed
  16. can we swap two first rounders out in a row, i.e. 2020 and 2021? i think geelong - surprise, surprise - got special dispensation to do so a few years back... what's the relative strengths of the 2020 vs 2021 draft? i'd be going as early as i could for a pick swap tho - why not hawks or gc17 with pick 4 or 5? i've read mention that the talls in this draft are relatively strong - thilthorp, grainger-barrass are likely to be available in that early clutch of players - so i'd be targeting an early pick all comes down to whether gc17 need 'points' for whatever ridiculous academy selections they've got this year / next year i suppose if we could do 5 for say hawks' second rounder, one of our later picks, and our future first?
  17. classy user who can play midfield / half-back? yes please!
  18. completely disagree unless you mean that fitness is in the top three most important things for the footy dept, in which case i'd 100% agree
  19. it all comes to what we draft i guess; say it's the equivalent of rivers taken with pick 40 this year, then we're better off having that than nibbler again, all comes back to looking at what we bring in vs what we lose in totality anb is obviously best 26 for us - all comes down to the total of what we lose vs what we gain
  20. You rang?
  21. no, he turns 30 literally the day before 2021 ends; he'll be 29 for the entirety of 2021 most teams run with one ruckman on ground at all times - there's no need to 'panic' about us running with just gawn and jackson being our sole two rucks on the list in 2021 as there's still a whole trade and recruiting period to come
  22. eh? max turns 29 at the end of this year jackson is one of the most exciting young talls we've recruited in a long, long time preuss turns 26 midway thru next season and has played less than 20 games in his time playing afl; if he has value, now is the time to move him on
  23. sadly so https://7news.com.au/sport/afl/harley-bennell-hospitalised-hours-after-announcing-afl-retirement-c-1349741
