  1. so four full days of trade radio rambling
  2. free agency doesn't even open for some time, let alone trade period
  3. at this time of the year, hope springs eternal! the mfcss will kick in with the first report of 'player x is on restricted duties as the dees return to the track'
  4. Harmes should remain our first rotation mid - more effective playing that role than Brayshaw, Sparrow, Jordon et al for mine
  5. fwiw, from the sun: Melbourne says it wants two first-rounders and a second-rounder or two picks within 10 (including one within the first seven picks) for Jackson. https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/moneyball-afl-trades-all-the-latest-news-and-whispers-on-potential-2022-player-movement/news-story/1855f1401433f17306a756a3e7f5405a first time i've seen it said what we are chasing for dog
  6. what we give up will be entirely predicated on how much the filth are paying over the next five seasons
  7. he was named best over ashcroft? surprising i liked what i saw of mckenzie, aints' academy kid that they're going to lose the rights to
  8. yeah, i think we have depth but it's not great quality or emerging i want quality players pressuring the likes of brayshaw, harmes, and sparrow for their roles as second and third rotation mids, rather than being ready to plug-and-play like dunstan based on what i saw of vic country v vic metro, if we trade our way back into the 1st round this year then there's a fair bit of talent available that should do that much more so than talls, where cadman looks a top 5 prospect but there's not much beyond that
  9. i know, but he's meant to be a midfielder first and foremost
  10. burst speed is excellent ability to run up and back all day is definitely in question i see him as a half back who is able to offer run and carry OCCASIONALLY - he's far too unpredictable with the ball in hand to want having him get it more than 15 times or so a game
  11. if he's leaving he's signing a four year deal i am not sure if i ever see him as more than depth at senior level much prefer the mid / small defender rotation of hibberd, salem, brayshaw, bowey, rivers over hunt being part of it as soon as next year, let alone in four or so years time
  12. is he any good? has struggled to break into the midfield of a poor to average side
  13. Harley Reid for next year's draft looks very, very special
  14. IF yze does get the peptides job, and IF he takes choc with him THEN i can't wait to hear how their presentation to the board, with sheedy still on it, goes
  15. Francis is a bit like Toumpas - just not up to afl level
  16. That was a tough read Pretty vile
  17. If he's on $500k a year that's 'only' $125k above the average player
  18. you would presume the higher round pick we give up the more weighted it is to the filth paying a chunk of his salary i'm reasonably confident he'll be a MORE than handy player for us, even if i don't personally agree with the logic of bringing him in
  19. afl-accredited grounds... nsw (+ act) - scg, blacktown, olympic park (+ manuka) queensland - gabba, carrara, cairns vic - mcg, docklands tas - hobart, launceston nt - darwin, alice sa - adelaide oval wa - perth stadium i think we safely know which (non-)football state gil wants to bid the most
  20. talk of the 5 man bench was all the rage at the start of this year died away will be interesting to see if it's revisited and announced to all clubs about three days before the season starts like the sub rule was
  21. any sensible manager would be asking for a three year deal if he went somewhere else even at base minimum salary of $375k a year that's still over double what he's only guaranteed for one more year at the dees
  22. i suspect it's because if you won the centre clearance but had 5 charged from i50 arc to the square you'd have one player to kick toward and all teams play a zone defence so they wouldn't be sucked up into the contest with their oppo as 1:1 defense doesn't work we tend to play an arrowhead f50 structure at centre square contests - 3 across the arc and the other three in a line to the bounce behind them to the one in the square
  23. because MONEY
  24. opportunity would clearly exist for him at a third club what we get for him would be determined by how much of his wage another club is prepared to take on
  25. whatwhat say what replied to Gorgoroth's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
even further, i'd say his best performed positions are: 1. half back flank 2. wing 3. inside mid
