  1. georgiades signed a new deal with the pear so that's not happening mouch i can see replacing dunstan, but no doubt he will prefer to go somewhere where he's likely to see afl action, while billings is a completely different sort of player and wouldn't replace a dunstan-type on a list goldstein will want to be an afl-ready ruckman for a side next year, not behind gawn in the queue for afl opportunities
  2. genuinely can't believe we have three players of the quality of petracca, oliver, and gawn in our side at the same time... ...let alone adding may, lever, salem, rivers, brayshaw, viney, and pickett to those three...
  3. was he eligible to play as an 'overager' in the talent league competition? because personally i would say, if not, he's far better off playing at vfl intensity than a local league
  4. it will be very interesting to see how the extended time periods and reduced interchanges effect scoring, which seems to be the generic complaint about aflw i think it'll help teams such as ours, tassie, and the bears, who are coming from a strong base
  5. that used to be the case but i have no confidence it is now
  6. will o'sullivan last until what is, at this stage, pick 15?
  7. i don't think chol would be in our starting 23 he's good enough to maintain a spot on our list and play on occasion, but he's as reliable as a weideman or a schache when it comes to that ruck / forward role
  8. would happily take that but i doubt the pear would be happy
  9. my best guesses, which is all they are... harmes - 2024 contract smoothed out to 2025/6 grundy - requests trade to pear; probably a future 2nd coming back to us hibberd - retires / possible rookie spot retention melksham - retires tomlinson - retained on the list in 2024 due to no trade interest jordon - signs as a free agent elsewhere dunstan - no contract offer in 2024 disco turner - elevated to senior list brown - retires early, 2024 playing contract turned into coaching contract that's 5, possibly 6 off the list
  10. She’s just another bois club member Legal graduate? Check! VAFA background? Check! Consultancy background? Check! Part of the firmament for years? Check! No different to Gil and Dil
  11. i don't know about that @binman - bedford's skills don't seem as sharp to my eye as laurie and last season it was chandler and bedford that seemed to be in competition for the same role
  12. bedford got offered a three year deal at gw$ with more opportunity, as opposed to two at the mfc where he was behind pickett, anb, chandler for the speed forward role he made the right call and good luck to him
  13. i'm going to make an argument against this... ...if we pick two talented players, they're going to sign the standard two-year deal for picks... ...now let's say they extend that to an initial three-year deal... ...but what guarantee do they have of breaking into a perennial finals side? in two or three years time they might be frustrated with their lack of opportunity and request a trade for greater opportunity elsewhere; what's the chance we'd get a pick 4 or 5 back for them? i'd say unlikely - at the moment first / second round picks like jefferson (who will need to get ahead of jvr and petty) or laurie (in competition with spargo, chandler) or jordon (sparrow, woewodin, etc.) can't be guaranteed a spot in our side, and they have the added benefit of being part of our system and have, with the exception of jefferson, experienced a 'taste' of senior footy we're far, far better off putting our eggs in one top basket and backing one player who is considered by champion data to be the best talent and to have the best underage #s since petracca to break into our side quickly and to influence our play
  14. when he gets THAT LOOK i know that we as a team are about to go on one
  15. he's going to be a ripper of a player think ben hart
  16. i would hope it'll be 95k plus change but in terms of actual ticket SALES, it's quite a bit less
  17. more like 75k the rest is dependent upon corporate and mcc allocations
  18. fwiw, good source tells me we're 'odds on' to get pick 4 from gc17 pick 1 is 'up for discussion' if the above happens - i assume cos we're looking at bundling 4 and 5 for 1 i'm all for it
  19. tom mcdonald bags of beef aplenty and a life supply of bbq's awaits
  20. Mate could only get standing room in afl members High 90s looms
  21. a game winning goal against the bears is my favourite milkshake
  22. i'm a joel smith screamer away from waiting in a virtual lottery queue for afl member tix
  23. as per taylor swift, it's a complete lottery - the allocation of tickets is random entry you could log in now and be waiting in the queue for 2 hours and not get tickets or you could log in at 10.11am and go straight through and get tickets it's a random entry system
  24. and run him around he's got a history of hammy troubles that have taken time to recover from he'll be about 3 weeks since the last one make him work it
