  1. his last half of 2018 showed why sydney chased him so hard and we were so keen to keep him - his body just didn't allow him a clean run at performing to his brutal best on a consistent basis
  2. his resurrection under roos was a massive part of our journey towards the 2021 premiership
  3. so i have been informed they wanted him in 2022 but the tigers managed to convince balme to stay for another season
  4. apparently there's footage after this of bont, in the background, saying 'what the [censored]' as well - he was on the bench for the first two, i think, so it must've been after this goal
  5. yep, my crom contact has been saying it's been a done deal for over a year, and the dees are happy for him to go home - had an extraordinary two years in covid-affected seasons where he's not been able to see his kids, and the mfc are about the person as much as they are the staff member the other thing i'm assured is that balme will be there in 2023
  6. hey @Demonland, any chance you can split out how the voting went for home & away vs finals? from memory oliver was bog for the semi, gawn for the prelim, then trac in the premiership, but curious to see how it split out below those three
  7. subscribed 😈
  8. the block on dunkley before trac's dribbler would've earned him a premiership medallion if it was the ONLY team thing he did - instead he had 23 pressure acts, and was 'on' right from the start when he stopped footscray getting low pressure exits from d50 due to his constant harassment how many second year key forwards have kicked the amount of goals he has and put the sort of pressure on that he's able to exert on a continual basis? what a draft 2019 was!
  9. six in a row first thanks right the 'wrongs' of the 50s
  10. lever or petracca are the obvious candidates for leadership positions but who is to say that in a few years time when gawn is ready to hand it over (or retire at the end of his new contract as a 6 times premiership skipper) that there won't be another candidate emerging and jake and trac as then elder statesmen prefer to concentrate on their football? max is an inspiration at the moment and has proved to be an amazing leader
  11. i am under the assumption that burgess specifically recruited selywn griffith as his own replacement he was previously at the bears for a long period of time it's hard to see the 'program' changing given it has been an obvious success
  12. there were a couple of clear missed calls both for and against, but the important thing is that the decisions - or lack thereof - didn't have any impact on the result BUT we should've won by 90 as max's set shot in the second quarter was a clear goal (biased view, but seemingly correct judging by the video) and was an 11 point turnaround and shifted the momentum entirely as the bont nailed his set shot up the other end immediately thereafter
  13. i had no tears either when we started rolling it was just so exciting to be delivering such scintillating football to such a high standard that it was just so satisfying we had the opportunity to win a premiership, we took the opportunity brilliant
  14. bought too much; will buy more
  15. cerra is an absolute jet and would slot perfectly into our midfield rotation he is now likely to nominate the blues from all reports, presumably cos we can't get the deal done as we don't have the assets to offer freo for him
  16. that's a pretty significant tear
  17. 8 players aged 19-21 are now premiership players extraordinary
  18. 6: petracca 5: fritsch 4: oliver 3: salem 2: brayshaw 1: jackson
  19. final team sheets are 90 mins before the bounce, i believe
  20. if he becomes a player bt is gonna struggle big time saying didomenicantonio
  21. first goal: spargo norm smith: gawn most goals: plugger mac margin: 13
  22. i oscillate between wildly confident and worried about how losing it is going to effect me emotionally
  23. simplicity, as always - "just be us"
  24. thanks in some way to a golden run with injury we need to make the most of this opportunity to bring it back to the topic, it's a shame that hunt misses out - he's one of two players (tomlinson being the other) who were key parts of the journey to get where we are, and if fit would likely be in our best 23 jordon has 'played' every game; he'll be the sub again - it's ridiculous that you can 'play' a game when you don't take to the field
