Demons will win the flag in 2022.
whatwhat say what replied to Deenooos_'s topic in Melbourne Demons
i always think it's super hard to win outside the top 4 and harder again if you're forced to travel to an 'away' venue that first week but i think this season is - geelong aside, perhaps - the most even it's been since 2016 we absolutely can win it, but we need that second tall target to do so mirror the 2021 structure; win the premiership easy done! -
naughton would be great - he'd fit right in with some of his misses from directly in front

tiggas look certain to get 8th spot will neck tatts be back for finals?

it's often quoted in the media - and by the club in our dark days as a 'good news story' - and it is based on that nielsen / roy morgan data that's guesstimated annunally to membership ratio https://www.roymorgan.com/findings/9029-afl-supporter-ladder-april-2022-202207260047 work out the ratios of supporters: members and we rank fairly high
-
2a we are outnumbered virtually every game we play as we have one of the smallest supporter bases and the highest conversion of supporter: member of the actual clubs, rather than the make-believe franchises
-
i was afl members too i think yr split is about right the filth has probably 5x more supporters than us, not to mention 40k odd more members with the way they're playing at the moment, how they're not having 80k of their 110k membership base turn up every week i don't know the rotten [censored] are very, very good

2022 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
whatwhat say what replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
No Kynan Brown in yr prospective 2023 first round, @IvanBartul13? -
given that they're trying to emulate our 2021 set-up it would not surprise me if zurhaar - another wa boy out of contract - was a key target sideshow bob = tabener fritsh = zurhaar gawn / jackson = darcy / dog anb = switkowski [fwiw he is really missed in their forward structure last few rounds] pickett = walters spargo = schultz the one they really lack if lobb goes is a plugger mac type as that gut runner up to the logos as a chf they're basically set up behind the ball very, very similarly to us (three talls, a host of mediums, no genuine lockdown defender) and if fyfe can ever get back to full fitness they have a similar midfield set-up too

when are we signing up rm williams?? -
anything over 70k is massive in the post-covid era would love to see us top the 'modern' queen's birthday crowd, which is 83.5k in 2018 this year's big freeze total was 76k above that? happy days
-
also, fwiw, i wasn't referencing a failure to win at the mcg, more so a failure to get chains of ball movement happening to the same degree that we seem to be able to do so at perth stadium

Breakfast with Simon Goodwin in Perth
whatwhat say what replied to darkhorse72's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think the devil horns has to do with the way we set up defensively at stoppages Sparrow did it after his long bomb goal in the premiership and Oliver and Petracca went ‘yeah, nah’ and bang bang bang ensued -
Why do we seemingly struggle to move the ball at the MCG compared to the (near) identical Perth stadium?
