  1. if he stays he stays; if he goes he goes he's having a ripping year...as a half-back flanker even better year than last year...where it was a defensive wing and in turn that was better than the last time he played as a pure mid...nearly 5 seasons ago! he might come back and be the greatest inside midfielder essendon has had since jab watson...and i still doubt he'd be better than the combo of clayton oliver, christian petracca, and jack viney even playing as a half-back interceptor his defensive workrate can be mighty suspect
  2. more definitely more andy than @binman, but listening to relentless anti-mfcss from the latter is somewhat...cathartic? wish i had anything close to the confidence! it's an absolute must listen when it goes live as a podcast - great work as always
  3. if he does choose to leave as a free agent and picks the peptides - 🤮 - we simply MUST match and force a trade to get their 2023 first round pick no way can we let gus walk and only get a pick in the 15-20 range
  4. you can shave about $400k off the rumoured per annum salary indicated by sumich, and even then it's STILL $2-300k a year more than we are offering i'm going to be shattered if / when he announces he wants to return to wa, as i think he's a generational talent if the rumours are true re his reasoning behind wanting to go 'home' are personal, so be it at this stage, however, he's an exciting, promising talent rather than the whole article
  5. we've had a pretty bad spate of copping injuries early in the games this season it would seem that burgess isn't just good at managing injury and fitness but also brings a fair dose of luck with him
  6. yep, heaps from our own club, viney is an obvious one
  7. so we score 100 points, and have 110 scored against us, and people want to swap one of the three pillars of our backline out to send em forward? i don't understand the logic of doing so whatsoever
  8. the money that has been talked about as being on offer from freo is - from a reasonable source - not even close to accurate it's still huge money for a 20 year old - over $800k a year - but not close to the rumoured $1.25m per annum over eight seasons
  9. 6: Oliver 5: ANB 4: Brayshaw 3: Fritsch 2: Gawn 1: Weideman
  10. switched and changed i thought - petty when he was up the ground further and moving back i50, which was when i thought it got lost, with tomlinson and petty not getting the 'change over' right
  11. without lever we really lacked leadership in the backline i don't know / understand what's happened to may, but since he copped that concussion vs freo / at entrocote he's been a shell of his former self on the one hand i thought petty was very good; on the other had 5 kicked on him frustrating game to watch as i thought it was completely played on their terms - fast, open, lots of ball movement it's not all doom and gloom - this season is crazy even and i think anyone from 2-10 is in with a chance if everything 'clicks' for them, but at the moment i think the cats are clear favourites which is annoying as all hell
  12. Yep you can see why they were keen on Cerra Surely with gw$ having a fire sale we can get a good midfielder to add to our rotation
  13. Lovely lead and mark, good kick, absolutely pathetic in a contest or 1:1 situation
  14. IN: Lever, Chandler, Brown OUT: Tomlinson, Melksham, Weideman
  15. he IS from wa...you'd think both sides over there would be all over him like a rush given that they both could do with a tall forward
  16. hahaha jeremy cameron
  17. karl amon with an atrocious kick across goal
  18. poor kicking at goal keeping footscray in it
  19. wow, that ryan daniels article was typed with one hand on the keyboard and one on purple, wasn't it? pure fantasy and nothing to do with how they ACTUALLY get the trade done "we're going to keep all our players! and be able to pay jackson!! HUZZAH!!!"
  20. nice rove by amw
  21. chandler very nice set shot
  22. long year to play out yet... tbh he's not in my top ten most important players to our side; i'd have him behind all of may, salem, petracca, viney, lever, gawn, oliver, langdon, plugger mac. and fritsch a very good player nevertheless
  23. chandler seems to be more of a midfielder who goes forward - a la petracca? - at casey than a small pressure forward who works defensively, which is his role at afl level
  24. amz could've gifted a goal to jvr but couldn't hit the target speaking of which - jayden hunt; beautiful reader of the play, fantastic speed...can't hit a pass to save hisself
  25. the goal kicking tonite is putrid
