  1. classique good ordinary afl level player
  2. glad daniels is out - he is brilliant defensively in combination with bedford, and offensively in combo with toby greene grossly underrated small forward
  3. we've been working on this exchange for at least 18 months; go get him, tim
  4. traditional rivals - filth and geelong modern rivals - footscray and the bears
  5. agreed, grundy's centre bounce work is excellent worth remembering that against geelong grundy went off the ground for 20 mins for hia, hence why grundy was used less around contest for a prolonged period
  6. hard to go past mcvee as the most improved player, with jvr not far behind him to break into that back 7 as a defensive mid with clean skills has been huge for the former, while the latter has been playing as the #1 key forward for the last six weeks they're both super, and i can definitely see both as top 5 in the b&f in years to come, as they do things that coaches really value - good decisions, team-first, and execute at a high level rivers is the same tbh; bowey's form i thought fluctuated from the sublime to the ridiculous prior to his head knock, but i think he's a ripper too sparrow i don't rate overly highly - plug and play midfielder, but can't ever see him in the top 5 of a b&f but i still think he could end up as a 200+ afl game player would have chandler ahead of him in any 'top 5 most improved 2023...so far' list but his form has cratered, coinciding with our scoring struggles - if he could kick straight we'd be a lot cheerier over the last 5 or so weeks
  7. are they inside-outside or one particular 'type' of midfielder? pup brown will come into the squad next year and be another inside player for us
  8. give me an inside / outside gun reid would be ideal
  9. whatwhat say what replied to Demonland's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
fwiw, all the players say these sorts of lists are absolute bollocks
  10. are we the only team to beat em in a close one since last september?
  11. filth's surge footy is incredible
  12. meth coke won't want to take on those contracts, or those players they'll want three first rounders for starts. possibly two second rounders as well i personally think if lamb and taylor believe reid is worth 2023 freo 1st and 2nd round, mfc 1st and 2nd round, 2024 mfc 1st round, then we might as well do it an injection of pure top end class is needed for our mid / fwd combination
  13. numbers are stark
  14. it works when it does, and when it doesn't it doesn't
  15. really thought disco turner was bog from my spot far from mordor at home in the heartland harmes really wishes he was dusty martin with those fend-offs
  16. Agreed yet ironically some of his kicking tonight was ghastly
  17. ben brown with a brilliant forward stoppage ruckwork for a white rove and goal
  18. as if a forward wouldn't kick it from the mark by the square on his natural right foot snap around the body sometimes i like yr commentary; sometimes i think you look for issues where there are none deakyn smith a couple of nice marks down back, and brown continues to work hard up and back
  19. dunno if it's the quality of video or the angle of the camera or what have you, but sideshow bob looks thinner tonight and has moved up to the wings with a bit more attack on the ball in the air
  20. shoulda been called holding the ball ffs perfect tackle execution i loathe geelong
  21. given the incredible pressure we maintained either side of the main break, was it really that much of a surprise that we dropped off as badly as we did in the last? also. i would suggest the 'average' output of 163 is also fairly meaningless - i'd like to see a breakdown based on ten minute increments, as the puddy tatts absolutely dominated that first 10 mins of the last before we were able to put some pressure back on them
  22. 100% he should've been an ausltralian that's an appalling effort by scanlen's first they took out the chewing gum and then they didn't create a card for lord nev? disgraceful!
  23. at times like this i stick with the maxim of [f-expletive] football; it's a [s-expletive] sport and i hate it
  24. it's the second time we've avoided a blow out in losses if only the lights went off last night we might've won! with the d50 transition scoring, i can't believe how easily we allow teams to exit d50 - our set-up defensive zone would appear to me to have moved back a contest compared to earlier in the year
  25. for a real retro round we could play them at the g...
