  1. Toey as Has the crowd estimate really become 85k?
  2. Bears in all sorts without a ruckman you’d think
  3. that's my favourite bit too
  4. woey ended up getting concussion as a result of the hit; would expect that factored into the suspension still, that's a hefty one
  5. is that sellars maclure?!??
  6. he's best mates with zach tuohy, isn't he? puddy tatts win again (here's hoping they fail, once again, in september)
  7. i dunno, they both miss their fair share of shots on goal!
  8. bedford playing thru the midfield has a little bit of shai bolton about him
  9. nothing in it
  10. woewodin does everything nicely except for finishing
  11. cox's 'knees out' at the contest is, imo, not reportable BUT it should be a free kick every time he does it
  12. i believe they term it 'awareness' these days...
  13. fwiw, orrong park / toorak park was not an option once the surrounding area was rezoned for residential the reason other clubs keep getting more funding is because they already have pre-existing land and infrastructure to develop we are essentially looking for a mythical green field fwiw, not having a so-called 'home base' doesn't seem to damage our on- and off-field success of late
  14. i think, back in mid-2021, 2022 and 2023 were the big risks with five genuine star or potential star players - petracca, brayshaw, jackson, oliver, pickett - out of contract across those two years since then, we've locked the cream away, with the only two left of those five being the youngsters, jackson and pickett, who absolutely must be in demand from other sides other players ooc at the end of 2023, in order of my perceived importance to our success over the next 3 years: may anb rivers jordon jvr howes amz mcvee deakyn smith chandler weideman can't see the elder two at the top entertaining offers elsewhere and would, in all likelihood, be looking at three year deals at the max, while the next three should, hopefully, be key players for the rest of this decade, and the next few are likely role players and great depth to have players ooc in 2024 in order of my perceived importance: lever (although i thought he signed an extension?) plugger mac sideshow bob bowey sparrow harmes laurie tomlinson lever i thought signed an extension to take him thru to being a 30 or so year but as i think he'll be the next skipper i can't see him leaving, the elder statesmen will move to yearly contracts you'd think unless they retire, while the next three are the epitome of role players one thing that i think it was montagna said that i actually agreed with is that clubs should pay their star players what they're worth, but role players can be found and developed into important but, ultimately, replaceable players i would be shocked if any of the above two years of uncontracted players will be flight risks, with the exception of the two wa boys (rivers and jvr) and the sa ones (anb and sparrow), all of whom SHOULD be in high demand in their native states, either as key players (rivers and sparrow) or as providing key leadership and setting standards (anb), or potential in a hard to fill role (jvr) tl; dr: we've signed away our best players, now it's time to lock in the leaders and the depth
  15. jack watts seems to suffer from relevance deprivation syndrome symbolic of a long gone era of the mfc
  16. yep, i'm a theatre-goer for it too i hope they slaughter each other
  17. i thought it was gc17 have offered him ~600k and crom blew it out of the water with a $900k offer
  18. afl control all finals membership ticketing
  19. 4 tix in M17 happy days
  20. not only should max be a lock for his 6th aa jacket, but his second as skipper
  21. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/north-approach-peter-jackson-to-steer-roos-into-the-clarko-era-20220822-p5bbrz.html
  22. scarcity will ultimately make individual games more important and broadcast rights more valuable...in the long term there's no way afl will ever countenance taking the short term financial hit of going from 22 round season to a 17 / 18 round one (depending on if tasmania come in) i sound like a broken record - nfl has 32 teams but only 17 games per team over 18 rounds, and is arguably the most valuable sporting broadcast rights in the world
  23. if you look at the history of the peptides since the 1960s to now, they pretty much have been a rabble except for when sheedy was in charge sheedy dominated for a long, long time - 27 years, four premierships, multiple finals campaigns, and building the club into an absolute powerhouse after coleman retired due to failing health in 67, from 1968 until 1980, five different coaches were tried, with none lasting longer than four years, until sheedy came on board in 81 but their long term history indicates that they really do tend to be fraught with internal fighting and board machinations that see them constantly cutting of their nose to spit their face long may it continue!
  24. y'all not suffering from mfcss?!?? i'm worried about EVERY other team in the 8 one of the most even seasons of all time; i reckon everyone in the 8 COULD win it, but cats are - deservedly - favourites
