  1. filth finish each quarter so well
  2. he's not the model of consistency but he is a fantastic player to watch when on song
  3. i have not seen said reports - the gc17 player that seems to get most commonly linked to the filth is matt rowell ben king is signed up there til the end of 2026 on massive coin that would see him clearly be a restricted free agent when he comes ooc; they ain't going to give him easily
  4. over the last three years we have gone for: oscar allen jake waterman nick larkey tom lynch mitch georgiades lynch and georgiades the closest to coming to fruition; former only decided at the last minute to stay and be the senior citizen at the tigs and the latter was likely moving before his acl curtailed a likely move
  5. neither did harris for dingley tho - it was all based upon expectation to invest the future fund is our club's investment arm, rather than property, and appears to have been successful for the club getting waverley for $1 is just one of the great strategic moves in modern times
  6. geez georgiades can dive
  7. great crowd - over 56,000 it's almost like saturday arvo footy at the g between two melbourne-based teams is a good thing...
  8. 5 goals 5 to no score at all this quarter baggers coulda won with some accurate kicking for goal we know that story well @No. 31
  9. cal is the only media person who repeatedly says that we've targeted key forwards over the last few years most other media nuffies just say that we should...completely ignoring that it ain't for want of trying...
  10. baggers play like the mfc with a strong contested football game based upon territory and - just like the mfc - it suits the kangas' gameplan which is based more around speed at the contest, with the likes of sheezel, wardlaw, simpkin, mckercher, o'sullivan, etc. having the skill to hit the gaps and hurt the oppo with their possessions
  11. Hawthorn got waverley for $1 because: the afl no longer wanted to manage the ground they negotiated that hawthorn was committed to using it as a base the deal was beneficial for both parties it was understood that it would eventually predominantly be redeveoped for housing and the $1 was symbolic - they had to pay for quite significant redevelopment and relocation costs as part of the agreement their fundraising ability dwarfs ours - see jake niall's series of articles about the club power brokers here https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/the-afl-s-powerbrokers-20250423-p5ltn4.html geoff harris has donated over $10m to kickstart their new dingley home; they bought it for around $8m about a decade ago ian dicker has donated close to $2m over the course of the last decade as part of their 'foundation heroes' as well as negotiating with mirvac to give them the community aspect of dingley once kennett left their board a few years back they also got $15m from the govt compare it to mfc of recent times: quite simply, our über-rich don't put their money behind the club like other supporter's wealthy benefators do in - the except being diamond joe who was rumoured to have tipped in $2.7m in the mid-90s to help better balance our debt
  12. Solid hanrahan’ing
  13. i suspect it'll be the new umpire's home it's one oval; doesn't accomodate afl, aflw, vfl, vflw teams - exactly why dingley are in, well, dingley
  14. oh&s i assume
  15. England vs India Test series starts tonight
  16. Good grief - hawks buy Waverley for $1, sell it back for $20m…meanwhile Dees remain homeless https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/afl-leading-the-race-to-buy-waverley-park-from-hawks-20250620-p5m932.html
  17. windsor should be the max holmes that we thought we were getting til the puddy tatts traded up ahead of us in the bowey + laurie double similar #s in their respective second years, albeit that holmes was on the peripherary of a premiership team at the time...
  18. i reckon the maggots will end up at waverley
  19. from draft guru: corey wagner was of course on our list, playing 11 games in 2019, before being delisted at the end of 2020 since joining flagmantle he's played remarkably consistent footy since midway thru last season as, arguably, their best 'small' defender
  20. je ne regrette rien
  21. from the horse's mouth if not from the mouth of the mrc chairman? john kanga would seem to be a serious thorn in the mfc's side
  22. so he seems to be being deployed as a genuine wingman?
  23. other than the friday night there's not much to be excited about this round i'll go: flagmantle puddy tatts baggers? pear filth gw$? footscray i think results are irrelevant to us now as we're so far behind the 8 our season feeling like it's 'over' midway thru june is all too familiar and just sucks
  24. leppitsch is not a coach anymore, i don't think - now head of list management
  25. also true
