  1. What's all this about other Vic clubs having better facilities and being more professional etc? Don't tell me Tom hates the drive to Casey every once in a blue moon as well, isn't he from that neck of the woods? Are we still at the Junction Oval? Last I heard we had new state of the art facilities that more than compete with everyone else, and just a Tappy drop-kick away from the 'G. Granted we don't have first class tickets to Arizona or a cardboard factory, but it'd take more than those things to make me believe a bigger Vic club is what he wants. Better coaching staff maybe? Tell me where Bailey has gone wrong in terms of where he's played and developed Tom. The only thing I'd believe is an itch, an itch to play for Richmond. Can't see how that deal would get done. It's an itch - Rich It's money - GW$ Or it's us I'd put money on us.
  2. I'll say Gysberts, there's just something about him that is so cool, and he doesn't shirk a contest even being slightly built and lanky. Good over head, will kick goals, will be creative. His upside is massive.
  3. Yep, exactly what happened. Sylvia was yapping all day, was a very good low possession game by him, he lead very well.
  4. WOWWEEEEE I agree with BT. I turned to my uncle and with a chuckle I said 'f.. we're front runners'. Give us an interstate team and a decent start and back us by 60+ every time. I don't see it as that much of a bad thing, why not beat up on these teams that come here and don't take us seriously? I just can't wait until we can absorb pressure from a top Vic team at the G and pull out a win.
  5. I think Gysberts has more upside than all of them, and may well be right at the top of the list in 5 years.
  6. I doubt it'll change, it's scary to think how good he'll be when he's this good already. Only injury could hold him back.
  7. Just because Trenners got rubbed out doesn't mean these tackle suspensions sit well with me. It's a contact sport, tackling as hard as you can used to be a highlight. Brisbane won 3 flags doing it ffs, and it was a joy to watch.
  8. Surprised Sylvia is all clear, nice MMA backfist seemed to KO some Docker loser, I was worried.
  9. This worries me too. Such a perfectionist has not improved his kicking, it makes me cringe every time he misses a target, which is often. And he does/has worked on it, he worked with a biomechanist on it last year. Of course he hit a couple of sweet passes yesterday, but he misses more than he hits, and if you go back through the tapes, there aren't many marks on the end of Scully kicks.
  10. Melbourne supporters did not boo Tom Scully. If whoever said that means when he ran down the members wing in the 2nd qtr (the only audible boos when Scully was near it all day) that was Freo supporters booing because Scully was holding the man right before he took possession and it wasn't paid. I mean seriously, you idiots need to find a hobby.
  11. If it was Scully I think it was because he's jealous of the attention Trengove has been getting so he wanted to knock over an umpire too, which obviously means he's going, and can afford to pay the fine.
  12. Will be back in my good books when he does it against an actual defensive unit. Not that rabble Freo rolled out. And he missed easy goals and 2 grabbed at marks, I just can't understand how a title can throw someone off so badly. Last year he was brilliant against most teams. Gotta love the back with the flight mark though. Was it M Johnson trying to 'defend' it? Highlight that one Lloydy.
  13. I think the umpires got the memo this week, and kept out if his way. That goal was a ripper, glad it wasn't taken off him like last week.
  14. If it's true that the club know and continue to play him, I'd be outraged. It would mean he lied back at his presser, stating he has the trust of his teammates... if it was true and proven, I'd ask Sylvia to run through him at training, that's how much protection I'd show him. Safer, please. As if he'd continue to rock up on game day.
  15. He was effin excellent in that first half.
  16. 131 thoughts Yves Edwards, you poor bastard! Sam Stout finally shows that he does have hands of stone. That was one of the most brutal knock outs I've ever seen. I had Yves in a multibet, cost me. JDS - Class bloke, class boxing skills, I'm backing him against Cain. Just think he's a good chance to tag him early and put him away. I like both Dos Santos and Velasquez though, will be a ripper fight whatever happens. Carwin - his heart is massive, the beating he took overshadowed that fact that he held back that whole fight, what was he doing? Was like a heavywheight version of Penn v Edgar. JDS dominated, Carwin showed heart, decent main event, but was hoping for something more epic. KenFlo, glad he won, I like Kenny but I love Aldo. Aldo will be an animal against KenFlo, as opposed to if he'd have to fight his training partner, so we all win. Well maybe not Kenny, he'll be in a world of pain. Herman v Einimo - Comedy in a cage. Entertaining fight, but it was also hilariously bad. Demian Maia looked real good, spewing he lost. The judges, what a farce. Absolutely hopeless. Umigawa should sue.
  17. How Aaron Davey has fallen... I hope it's not an Adem Yze like decline at the end of his career.
  18. Trengove. This time last year I had slight concerns over Trengove's pace, I don't see it as a problem now. Tough, keeps his feet, great handball, decent kick, brilliant over head and seems like a leader of men. Scully will be very good, but right now fans and the media overrate him.
  19. Why do people hang so much on that stupid "gang tackle"? 3 blokes tackled him when he didn't have the ball, he won a free kick and was not hurt in the slightest... Yet people bang on about it like it was the most brutally humiliating initiation into footy ever. He's been very good since he was the sub against GC, taking consistent steps forward. Had he held all his marks against Essendon it would've been an A+ performance. We need more than Jack Watts' best to beat Collingwood.
  20. Petterd looks a yard quicker at VFL level, gets a bit exposed when "chasing" at top level. But he can play in most areas, so if Howe keeps him out, he could be used down back or even rotated from a flank through the middle. I hope Petterd and Howe keep Bate and Dunn far back in the queue. While Bate looked good at times today, his handball and slow mind were terrible at other times, and he's completely dropped away at top level. Dunn could kick 10 and I still wouldn't give him a game. Trade. Blease's speed today was great to see, the leg is holding up. Get the kicking right and he'll be icing. Cook was very good, knows where to go and what to do. Very promising. I like Davis and McDonald too, think McDonald will make a very good KPP one day. Warnock was also excellent, but not one I want to see in the seniors bar injuries.
  21. If he puts it down Clokes throat, he might choke infront of goal. These gags are getting old. Dick will swell up if slammed by Dawes.
  22. If Dick slams into Sidebottom Brown might make a mark.
  23. Dick will be happy if Ball's deep.
  24. I doubt it and actually hope he doesn't. He's usually very rusty when he's been out, and he's too important to rush back, shouldn't even have gone back on the field when he did the injury. Plus we match up ok down back with just Chip and Riv anyway.
