At the start of his career I think Green was soft, the last 3 seasons he has gone back with the flight of the ball more times than he would have in his whole career to date. Should have won last years B&F by a mile, was a disgrace he did not. If they are not going to give the Captaincy to McLean then Green HAS to be the captain.

Difference was that prior to that, McLean was already a part of the leadership group and was dumped from it, then was re-instated. And the burnout (I would not care who did this, I thought this was over the top reaction no matter who did it) and the off season trouble was so far and hopefully a one off, I actually thought McLean should not have rejoined half way through last year either. I agree that he seems to be heading in the right direction but to say that he should be in the leadership group due to 9 - 10 months (if he does not stuff up between now and pre season starting) of good behavior is not something I think we should be entertaining.

Let's let him get through 90% of the season and a whole season next year and see what happens. Don't forget that he stuffed up in the pre season. I will wait to see if he proves if over a long period not a short period of 10 weeks.

But Hawthorn had a better team to rebuild from than we did too and every one also says they made the GF a few years earlier. If this thread was done last week before the bad game v the filth then the replies on here from some posters would have been a bit different I think.

I keep hearing about Collingwood had a younger list than us on the weekend. Can some one find and list the players, their age and games played Cos although the filth might have had a younger list I would be tipping we had more players with less games especially in the under 30 games section.

This is our prob at the moment, a player who gets it 25+ times but does not use it that well all the time is in our top 5, Ina few years time he will be between 8 - 15 in our B&F then we will be a contender. I so agree with this, Ward got it, ran 10 meters and belted it as long as he could anywhere.

How many under 15 games for each club, they prob have 5+ around the 50 mark where we would have prob more around the 10-20 mark.

Yeah he did not have a pre season. Once again after a loss the world is about to end.

I'm not saying McLean played well but he was better than about 15 others out there, i would not have said he was poor, the problem is with players like McLean is he is in a similar position to Kerr, surronded by average players and copping the best tag = not as a good a game, once we get some better players he will also be a better player, and as most people do forget he had no pre season, is still quite young and so many people expect him to be a Judd like player, he is never going to be but he gives more to this club than virtually any other player.

Joe boy I have to seriously ask, has McLean ever played a good game in your book? I think he was ok today in a awful side, I would not have said poor getting worse. I really think you do not like him and will never say he played anything but poor.
