Is Jack Viney an automatic inclusion?
Never in doubt. If our vice-captain is fit for a finals campaign then let him loose. He'll do to whatever opposition we face the same that we copped in our last two appearances in the GF. Take no prisoners. It's in the Viney DNA.

It's not off topic. Read what I posted. Enjoy the game.

Enjoy your enthusiasm. Perhaps entertain the idea of trimming your "biography/interests" so we can move on to the next post without trawling down through air space.

Speaking of Bach...I forgot the Vandenburg concertos.

You have all forgotten the most important player in our Bach line.

NON MFC: Rd 11 2021
Nice line from the Hawks Big Footy site post-match yesterday. "Horrid. We may struggle to defeat BYE next week." Followed up by: "Looking forward to not watching us next week". Schadenfreude I know but it couldn't happen to a more deserving smug fan base.

What they're saying down at Barkly Street
It may have been posted already but the Doggies supporter site referenced, (as opposed to "sight"), is https://www.woof.net.au/ Always interesting to read a mix of objective and biased comments on the oppositions assessment of their own team and us. Once the dust has settled, these sites are an informative read.

TEAMS: Rd 11 vs Western Bulldogs
At least we're giving Weideman a crack at it. The next six weeks or so (depending on Covid) will tell the story...and soon to be out of contract. Interesting times. I still reckon that Mitch Brown is stiff not to get more games. Good grab, knows how to find space, contests, understands his role and kicks goals.

2021 Injury List
I did mistakenly suggest that we hold AVDB back until the PF. Let him cut loose now if he's fit but within limits. Hit a few hard in the meantime. Have a few games. But save his best aggression for the GF. Just like Essendon did to us. No quarter spared. (Long memory and still dreaming).

CHANGES: Rd 11 vs Western Bulldogs
In my dreams I'd save AVDB for the preliminary final, (god willing), tell him to go for it, wreak physical havoc and slip him a brown paper envelope post-match crammed with more fifties than you'd ever see in the Mahogany room.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs Adelaide
It's half time. Take a chill pill. If we don't turn up in the 3rd quarter then I'll be worried. And then there's always the fourth.

I guess you mane "anagrams".

A Danger Game
You ever sat at a Port home game? Crows supporters, in contrast, are the model of civility. Most of them voted for Don Dunstan back in the day. And apart from Don's Safari suits, (thankfully a long-forgotten fashion statement), they still retain some degree of reasonable behaviour.

GAMEDAY: Rd 09 vs Carlton
Elementary game day error. Clearly not necessary. All it does is clog up the forward line and create uncertainty. Either coach's instructions or Big Max is a little slow in working out where to position himself with this re-jigged forward line. Another issue hopefully to be addressed at half-time.

GAMEDAY: Rd 09 vs Carlton
No doubt that Chandler will have a quiet tete-a-tete with one of the coaches at quarter time. Probably first game nerves and over exuberance.

TEAMS: Rd 09 vs Carlton
Great to see Petty retained and Chandler in. Taste of the big time and well-deserved.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer team.

1964 memories- calling our older supporters
I've related this a few times on both Demonology and Demonland but in brief. Thirteen years old, Bay 13, up against the wire fence just down from the bars in what is now the Southern stand. Equipped with torn up phone directories to toss in the air every time we scored. Great vantage point to watch Gabba's run and fumble. Froggy's goal came from nowhere, up went the paper! The rest is a purple haze.

Another 'Ology member here from the early days. Many fond memories of the argy-bargy that occurred on a regular basis. Some great, and provocative, posters there back in the day. My moniker was on_the_bench.- GAMEDAY: Rd 06 vs Richmond
Not to mention Matthews cleaning up Peter Giles on the MCG when he was blind-sided. Absolute dog act.- GAMEDAY: Rd 06 vs Richmond
The 1985 season was Matthews' last as a player. During a wild game vs Geelong which was marred by numerous brawls and reports, Matthews struck Geelong player Neville Bruns in an off-the-ball incident, breaking his opponent's jaw. Geelong's Steve Hocking exacted swift retribution, breaking Matthews' nose and an all-in melee ensued. No report was laid by umpires against Matthews. However, the 'behind play' incident had been captured on camera. After much public outcry, the VFL launched an investigation and subsequently deregistered Matthews for four weeks. He was also charged with assault and fined $1,000.[9] His conviction was later overturned on appeal. The charge remains the only time a top-level player has been charged for an on-field incident. Not for long. The MCG turf soaks it up like the Sahara.- My Round 4 Preview and Prediction
Just an aside. When are the umpires for any match announced publicly? I had a quick look at the AFL site and no result for our match. Am I looking in the wrong place or not following the right clicks so to speak. The reason I ask is that Geelong are the leagues worst culprits for staging, going to ground with no evident contact, pretending to get hit high when it was a chest bump and sniping when they think they can get away with it. Impartial umpires would help.- WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - KYSAIAH KROPINYERI PICKETT
The moniker for him in our household is "Little Richard". All wild hair, glinting ivories, sassy moves and stage presence to burn. Twists and turns and hits the scoreboard rather like LR hit the keyboard. Some of the shots of him bear an uncanny resemblance. - demonology
