The 1966 rebuild seems like yesterday. Ken Jungwirth, Syd Catlin, Rowarth, Hugh Bromell, Ken Rowe, Frank Vearing, Chapman, Stewart, Leahy, Neville Stone, Rob Dowsing, Kerry Ryan, the list goes on, Dillon, Feldmann... Flash forward to 2020 and it's swapping out players, early draft picks and demonland summer updates.

Ronald Dale used to go mental at players all the time.

You obviously missed the 1956 season...

I remember our own Bob Johnson - playing for Oakleigh - terrorising VFA sides in the 60s when Melbourne had no forward line.

V. average ball release, not your neville fields or barry price.

Earl oF Spaulding like Jesse H. planted his non-kicking foot so had no follow through. Like Jesse also in that he was a very accurate shot round the corner shot.

Lee Harvey Oswald, high impact with intent.

What about all the clubs we have beaten in a finals Game who have subsequently won a flag themselves. The list is impressive: Swans,North, Carlton, Collingwood, Hawthorn, W. Bulldogs, Essendon, Adelaide, West Coast from memory.

R.I.P. Mike Williamson. He was the best....

Changed his style dramatically. In 1963 was a Debonair, understated commentator. -

Was 'I tipped this'. I'm so nervous I out the cigarette in my mouth the wrong way". Closing seconds, '66 gf, Butch and Mike exchange. -

Melbourne had done their dash by '65, both Barassi and Smith knew it, and both were seeking greener pastures prior to our demise. Losing the exclusivity of the MCG (in '65) also played its part. Smith was a great coach who had a great list. How dismal that both Saints and Essendon also rose dramatically in 1965.

According to all the "Cliffs from Clematis" on here Jack is cooked. According to Ben Guthrie on AFL.com.au Jack has "an ankle" but will be right this W/E.

What about Jones and Viney too lazy to use conditioner?

Melbourne once again dining out on its own bath water. So much press about being a premiership contender, everyone basking in mediterranean sunshine, meanwhile port shows what no BS football can achieve. Jones' dropped mark reeked of prelim. hangover.

ANB: Lever building to something "scary"
bush demon replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Has the skinny legs/ zig-zag style of pre-knee Schwarta. Still, lots of soccer players recover from ACL's so hope Lever has a fantastic career with the Dees.
