  1. GAME LOST AT THE SELECTION TABLE: Instead of oiling the Jag the selection committee could be replaced with the following personnel: In: Captain Obvious, Jack the Blind Miner, Guru Bob, Sam "you know it makes sense" Kekovich and anyone else who can select a forward line.
  2. Selection committee blocking out fugazi, aka common sense with Brown's non-selection. Too much self serving tripe at press conferences not to mention the Gawn/ Bradshaw podcast rubbish.
  3. Have no fear with this pop-gun attack, we won our last two flags kicking 8 goals.
  4. Players first to the ball are being mauled by both umpires and opponents in the modern version of the game. Constant infringements by the tackler compared to the '73 version. Overhead marking so strong in those days, kicking to advantage not so much. Players follow the Kennedy rule: just boot the ball forward, so it's someone else's problem.
  5. Surely we were a better side than 7-15? Lots of heart-breaking losses that year.
  6. We are playing 'lock-down' football precisely because we don't have a B. Brown to chime in with 3-4 goals each other week.
  7. Depends who is given the FF role. Previously Weideman has been anointed as the Casey spearhead.
  8. Keep the politics off here. Dixon and Barassi were Tories, isn't that enough!
  9. After re-watching the '87 elimination final last night I'd also bring in Todd, but as a medical sub.
  10. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/four-points-the-rise-of-the-bombers- 9th on the ladder and all. Was a great win but but basically an Essendon Bombers advertorial.
  11. In that case what about the AFL.com.au. They regulate the competition then deploy their website to speculate on what lower-team lists and players can be raided by the power clubs. All in a day's work.
  12. Access to a (potential) GF ticket must be the incentive to boost membership.
  13. This was a mini-me version of our 2019 unravelling. Make changes, don't panic, we are still a good team.
  14. A courageous and fair decision. Weidmann has more versatility and has earned another chance. Gawny keep out of his way this time!
  15. So he gets in the AA, or doesn't. Exactly who does the AA team play anyway, and would Simon Ggoodwin and Choco release him to play a midweek fixture v New Zealand anyway.
  16. It wouldn't have been fed to the media unless he was going to play.
  17. Don't let it bother you. Any way to dampen expectations is more than welcome, IMO. BT is tongue in cheek. Let the results speak for themselves.
  18. Keep it up, BT he's lowering expectations beautifully which is exactly what the mighty Dees need at this stage of the race. Same as the guy on Fox who said "We've done nothing yet"
  19. Beware the three-headed monster, a la Dillon, Parke, Collcott. Apologies in advance for historically inaccurate allusion. Allusion 2.0: Lyon, Bennett, Jakovich.
  20. Also, milking a free by gripping the player's hand so he can't get rid of it. Sometimes dangerous and not in the spirit of the code. What year did this abysmal practice start?
  21. Majak will be there, mark it. His journey is inspirational and his time will come during the season. Sam's time is now, he is cherry ripe and will seize the the chance to show his wares.
  22. Melbourne went 0-3 in the last home and homes in '57 and thence completed the threepeat. The last cupplar games are a sideshow if wins have been banked and players managed for the finals denouement.
  23. On ticketek there is only a pay option
