  1. Tynan is built but desperately needs about two yards of pace to really make it. Can't wait to see Taggert in action.
  2. Ummm, que? To or from Port ? http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/150892/default.aspx
  3. No complaints from an attitude perspective and sincere best wishes for your future career Matt.
  4. You'll note I gave you credit for intellect in my original post (Rollo told me you are a smart bloke - and I credit him as a decent judge). Specifically, Matt Rendell was (possibly misquoted) as saying AFL teams may in the future only recruit indigenous players if they had one white parent. Were you referring to this or another Rendell statement? If another, which one?
  5. Given the generally accepted version of Matt Rendell's comment, your entire post was, in my opinion, racist. Lame attempt to skewer me on spelling though champ. Really? Is that all you have got?
  6. I am more a fan of treating each case on its merits. Generalsing is for lesser intellects RR.
  7. I have no problems with the changes so far. My guess is that there are still 2/3 to come. I am assuming Evans and Nicholson will be upgraded. Would be good to land Jacobs in the PSD.
  8. I too want to be on record as saying I would prefer Pederson to Gysberts. Gys is lightly framed and will probably keep getting injured if he doesn't bulk up. And if work ethic is the issue, then he will not be a finals grade midfielder. Give me the physically developed, versatile swingman with at least 5 years of AFL in him every day. As for Cale, I'd take pretty much anything to free up a spot on the list.
  9. If we had 50 spots on the list then sure why not?? But if he makes the starting 22, which of the players we are trying to develop stays at Casey? He is not in my best 22 at this stage. Clearly I am missing something.
  10. Swans wouldn't touch him. That would do me for a standard.
  11. What the hell.......first time I have ever attempted one of these... Nicholson/Evans Frawley Garland Watts T McDonald Strauss Ray/Taggert Grimes Blease Tapscott Dawes Howe Jetta Clark Sylvia Jamar/Gawn, Jones, Trengove Int: Viney, Wines, Pederson Sub: Byrnes Emg: Davey, Sellar, Bail and the de-selected "/ " players above
  12. Keeper if he can build some aerobic capacity. Can get it, can use it quickly to advantage, probably a bit wobbly when expected to hit a target more than 15 yards away. But can get it and can hit short targets. No idea on all the speculation about attitude.
  13. Meredith hasn't set the world on fire in the NEAFL folks. And there are injury concerns. Will need a swap of picks in our favour to get this done.
  14. Agree Jarka - The Age article today with Marty Pask predicts there may be no more straight FA movements with clubs losing FA's instead wanting to hold on to the compensation picks. Pask believes that trades and swaps more likey for the remainder even if they are FA's. More here: http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/drop-compensation-picks-says-player-agent-20121009-27bbe.html
  15. Either Toumpas or Wines will do me. Can't see either getting past 4.
  16. Is a third marking forward at best. We don't have the second one yet.
  17. I'm a fan. Looks like a young quick version of Shannon Grant. 200+ game player. Yes please if at 13.
  18. Won the team leadership award at the Geelong B&F last night and was given a resounding ovation even though he was leaving. Seems like a bloke our young guys might like and listen to. Costs close to nothing. Cannot see a downside. Welcome to the MFC Shannon.
  19. Misinformation to muddy the waters - certainly don't tell people publically what you really want. That gives leverage to the other side.
  20. I wanna plead "the vibe" on this point. It wasn't purely the numbers of entries, it was the quality. Very few of these were shallow entries that were rebounded straight back out by offensive half backs. These were generally deep entries which resulted on gettable shots at goal (this being the main issue as indicated by the scoreboard). I stick with Hawthorn should have won by further. But they looked a little bit "dis-integrated" and will need to all get on the same page next week or they will lose.
  21. Disagree entirely. Did Sando create their physique? No Craig and Watts did. Did Sando create their underlying ability to defend? No Craig did. The foundation for the creative flair is imposing physicality and an ability to defend. BTW they should have lost by 8 goals. The inside 50 differential was unprecedented for a one kick game.
  22. Nearly 52 here and no memories of ultimate success. But very happy with the long overdue no-BS change. Might even turn into an accountable culture. And more..
  23. I thought Sellar was just starting to find his feet at the end of the season. Give him another pre-season to work on some deficiencies and I am happy for him to stay in the team (especially if Riv leaves - which I hope he doesn't).
  24. I hope Cloke stays. Gives us a chance at Wellingham.
