  1. My sons are doing the same as your daughter. I have worked my arse off to get where I am (such as it is). That's not the bloody point. Its not a sob story, its about judging each case on its merits. Liam comes from a tribal society in the outback. You ever been there? FFS I said nobody other than idiots or zealots claim to have the answer. You have just proven me correct you stupid ignoramous.
  2. Jose - A-Grade smart arse work BBO - agree and similarly frustrated by "sauce" and other abominations.
  3. Fair bit of first world judgement on an ancient culture going on here. No, I don't have the answer - anyone who says they do are a fool or a zealot - but blind freddy can see how Liam is stuck between different circumstances. I hope he can find peace and can live well one way or the other. I don't care if football is a part of that healing process. But well done to his former team mates for trying to help him out.
  4. Just want to state my opinion here. Matt Rendell was not making racist comments, was taken out of context and is not a racist imho. I agree Jurrah was an exciting player and I get the Skinner comparison (less so the Garlett one). Can you say there is an established trend here? i.e. in your opinon, are urban indigenous players more likely to succeed in the rigours of the system that say those from remote communities?
  5. Staggering comment. Especially coming from you DD!
  6. Don't understand the weather reference. I am under the impression Joel went to my school, Ivanhoe Grammar. Which would make him a Melburnian. Am I wrong?
  7. Sorry Tim and Fan - you"re correct of course. But let's stop picking those scabs and get back to arguing. Or do we need another ill-informed, largely hearsay load of shyte in the little paper or the Age to kick start that?
  8. Didn't get within 15 goals of either on GF day did we??
  9. Have eaten at a restaurant in Beijing that specialised in all different types of penis' (penii?). But by far the least eadable thing I ate there was preserved jellyfish. No taste, inedible texture, nothing to recommend it really. Speaking of Demonology, I wonder what Knackers is up to?? Back to arguing please.
  10. What I don't get, an yes maybe I am naive, is why people are trying to detstabilise the club they ostensibly support. If its elements from the previous board, are they trying to salvage their pride/reputations by taking us backwards off the field? Is their pride really more important to them than a positive balance sheet, growing asset base, a strong minded football department who have withstood extraordinary pressures in their first year and who have 2 years to run on their contracts? I am not saying that any aspect of the club should not be transparent and subject to criticism. I am just wondering why people put their ego ahead of the organisation's well being.
  11. But the article doesn't state any facts; it makes allegations regarding what CC has allegedly said. If this is proven to be the case, then yes, I'd support your call for CC to fall into line.
  12. With Neeld, I am happy to commit to the longer game. Cultures don't changes instantly do they? BTW in the aggregate, we have a chance; Neeld, Craig & Misson. (edited to add the second line).
  13. Neither even got close mate. Maybe you might try looking to the present, or near future, for a flag winner????
  14. My perfect result on all of this would be: 1. No charges laid - insufficient evidence (even anecdotal evidence) 2. Rules clarified and all previous suspicious actions exonerated 3. We start the climb up the ladder and enter a period of sustained on field success and 4. America De Cali and others like him cover themselves in sticks and leaves for another 20 years waiting for the next opportunity to pot the club.
  15. Slow is relative. Lew Jetta is quick and has repeat quickness. Col has a decent cruising speed but is he quick off the mark or can he sustain quick? Not so sure. What about the ruck stuff? Do you think/fear we will be reliant on big Jake as #1 this year?
  16. Bit slow on the wings? But both good users I guess. I expect Clark to play deeper until he is fully fit meaning Pederson is likely to do a bunch of high hack work especially early. And I am fairly certain Jamar will struggle at first ruck next year with age/athleticism/the new rules. Spencer or Gawn to overtake?
  17. Ummm. Would you prefer we build a marketing campaign based on the achievements of the last 48 years? Maybe we could do that. How about we brand some red and blue havana's i.e. "not close and no cigar"! Might have some historical value and surely that'll attract some new members???
  18. The Unholy Trinity mate. Dave Misson, Neil Craig and Mark Neeld. This lot should have been directed by the Coen Brothers. We are in excellent hands.
  19. NC and MN will prove to be the most brilliant decisions of the Stynes/McLardy era. Notwithstanding some shambolic proceeses prior to their arrival.
  20. Sincerely, hoping young Anthony can overcome this latest setback. Football in perspective.
  21. OK OD, I'll nominate Tappy. Strong and very brave, quick enough and a good kick (long and short). He'll play "taller" than he is as a flanker (maybe like a faster, fitter, better Campbell Brown). He'll also make some others walk a bit taller as well (if we have any of THOSE types left).
  22. If we could get Sellar to play well as a deep back on a gorilla, it frees up Frawley to go further up the ground. Assuming TMac plays CHB, Frawley should always be very competitive against the third tall and can provide a fair bit of rebound. Small defenders will probably be Strauss and Nicho with Watts the floater. Depth probably JoleMac, Tynan, Gillies, maybe Taggert and I'm missing one. Happy to see Garland play on a wing myself.
  23. Eastlake now strongly aligned with GWS. Would expect their colours to change with that.
  24. Pennant Hills defintely a full demon outfit (colours, song etc) and have a strong junior club as well. But they would probably see themselves more aligned with Sydney given J McVeigh and K Jack (and now B Jack) are all from there. Side note - M McVeigh also from here to Essendon. The Boston team in the US is also Demons I believe (a mate of mine played for them).
  25. Agree. I reckon is biggest mistake was trying to build an anti-management clique within the player group. Bad managers often bind people to them rather than the organisation. As I said earlier, a failed power-player.
