A Bex and a good lie down would be helpful. -
Where is your evidence for the statement that "our membership numbers have plummetted"?

Dean Terlich - Good player or defensive liability?
Blistering replied to Arrow's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think you're wrong.Dean Terlich played well enough under two different coaches this year to complete a successful debut season at the MFC and finished third in the Keith 'Bluey' Truscott Medal. If Roos is doing his job properly then he will build on the strengths he showed as a player during the year and seek to rectify the weaknesses in his game. Terlich should therefore be delighted to have Roos on board to provide him with the necessary challenges he needs to improve as a player. In the end, its up to the player himself and only a fool would blame the coach for his lack of progress. -
I'll get on Jesse Hogan at those odds thank you.

Was it from West Side Story?

According to the Melbourne Football Club website there's an open training session tomorrow (Monday 2nd December) at Casey Fields at 9:30am. I'm hope some Demonlanders will provide the usual high quality reports and perhaps solve a little mystery for me about one of our rookies James Harmes. The publicity surrounding Harmes, a long time Demon supporter who is virtually local to the area (Devon Meadows is in close proximity to Cranbourne East where Casey Fields is situated) is that one of his major attributes is his pace. But I got a different impression reading Graeme Yeats' brief description of him in The Oracle's piece CHANGES 2013:- .I doubt whether his coach would get it wrong but I suppose no Harmes done by checking it out if someone could have a look at tomorrow's session.

Who was ruck coach last year?

I reckon it would be fair to say that Herman Melville is no relation of premiership player, the Reverend Ken Melville (1953-6) whose career with the Demons I'm told was all too short.

Hawks recruiter was correct.

These guys aren't concerned about any injury to Matt Scharenberg. If available at 9, he's definitely the best player.

I really don't think that too many MFC supporters would take issue with the selection of Scully in the first place. He was everyone's pick for #1 and Trengove was close behind him. I really don't think that too many MFC supporters would have a problem with the fact that we managed to snare Jesse Hogan as part of the "compensation" we got for Scully. I'm not complaining at all really but let's not delude ourselves that what we got was really compensation for losing a first pick after we put two year's work into him and then had to wait another two to see the fruits of that so-called "compensation". What we really should have received was like for like at the time we lost Scully which was at least the first pick in the 2011 national draft. Getting Hogan might be considered getting justice and I think it will be sweet justice in the long run but it also is justice delayed and justice denied in a way. But it was simply a case of the AFL riding roughshod over one of the weaker clubs. Let's hope that we get strong under Roos and never have to put up with that sort of BS again.

They wrote a song about this bloke. It goes like this: Uh Weller Weller Weller a huh Tell me more, tell me more

Has he really been delisted?

Is there a need to delist more players?

Why not include this site in the links section?

Anyone think we should re-draft him as a mature aged rookie?

I taped the show and the discussion about Sylvia was very brief. Barrett stated that both GWS and Melbourne have put their first picks up for trade and in Melbourne's case ... "Colin Sylvia won't sort of get involved in that pick two discussion unlikely as far as I can read the situation for him to be at Melbourne next year ..."

If that's true (and Vlad made no effort to state that) it was pretty weak of Vlad to bring in the other clubs to cover his ample backside.Demetriou has overseen the organisation in a way that robs the poor and gives to the rich and which creates a scenario where the poorer clubs need only one or two bad seasons on the field to become basket cases because they get dud fixtures making it so much harder to get members, sponsors and revenue from the gate. Sad to see we have supporters who apologise for this sort of thing.

I think the rest of the money was already advanced previously and wasn't part of the package ratified today. Irrespective, it shows how disturbing the situation is when we are beholden to the AFL and have an AFL appointee running the club. We need to have our own people running the show in order to become truly independent. I suppose first things first and Roos has to get us competing on the field with the rest.

Jamie Bennell upgraded to main list at Weagles
Blistering replied to Mono's topic in Melbourne Demons
Rubbish. Many of the players you mention failed to blossom under either Bailey or Neeld. Bennell spent three seasons under Bailey and ¾ of a season under Neeld and was going nowhere. Cale Morton started off well in his first year and a half and was burned off by Bailey. He was going backwards when Bailey exited. Both coaches were below what's acceptable and there's no evidence to support your thesis that the players suddenly went downhill when Neeld arrived. I note that "bruise-free" football and 186 happened under Bailey's watch unless we're now singing from the revisionist football history book. -
Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
Blistering replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
Dunno why the need to move on. Less than a month ago it was revealed in a Mike Sheahan interview with Tony Liberatore that Libba was still adamant that Carlton tanked in 2007. He also revealed that the so-called investigation into what he said was conducted by a former Carlton player. The President of the AFL is a Carlton "great". Nothing necessarily untoward about that but it ain't a good look. What makes it stench worthy is the fact that as late as last week the tanking issue was being used in argument against Melbourne getting a compensatory draft pick. I think true Demon fans have a right to feel aggrieved now and there's no reason to move on unless you're not a real fan. -
In: Bail, Sellar, Jetta, Gawn, Taggert Out: Rodan (Knee), Pedersen (Omitted)

Please don't talk about jokes on a MFC fan site.
