It's incredible to see the effect that this had on the wider community and is a good reminder that most people do have a generous side and a willingness to help out when it's needed even despite what we are currently going through. I myself wanted to chuck in a donation his but by the time I went to the Go Fund Me page it had been closed! Fantastic story, and I was really glad to see Matt Finnis stepping up on a personal level in St Kilda's apology, it helps much more when there is a name put to these things rather than general press statements.

I think the club have done this perfectly on this occasion. A general statement and a description of the action taken, we've passed the point of drawing attention to the actual content or what was said and we all have a rough idea of what it involves so there is no more need to keep giving these blockheads the time of day. I couldn't be prouder to be part of a club and also a community like Demonland that won't tolerate this kind of behaviour even for a second.

I get your thinking on the outcome element. There was a time when we judged these things purely on intent and the outcome or level of damage was not as much of a consideration. This has changed and is still very much taking some getting used to.

Great first post and love the name mate! That UP differential while shocking sort of makes sense but the mark differential is astounding. I'd love there to be a better explanation for this but could it purely just be a case of a team that can bring that relentless spread and running one week and not be willing to back it up the next and just assuming it will happen? Wow, I knew this was a tough ask but looking at the chart I'm even more depressed. Can you really see this team winning 4 from 5? I'll live in hope but gun to head I'd say we're winning 2 maybe 3 at best from that bunch. Something you'd expect from a perfectly average team.

That's true, there are often games where it feels like Viney is the only one really standing up and working through the tough periods.

I'm all for the idea of trying Viney or Harmes up forward right now, if nothing else just to give the forward line some jumpstart. Our forward line needs to be hard to play against and I feel these moves could help there.

Random question but is there anywhere that has the biggest range of stats with every stat possible? I was trying to find our what our record was with scoring from forward 50 stoppages and can't find it anywhere.

Yeah excellent posts from Bob. Maybe with our forward setup there is too much burden on guys like Spargo and Pickett to do the pressure stuff? I don't know, seems a tough one but I'd definitely keep him in there for now.

Sometimes You'll watch him applying pressure and doing nice things but then others you'll check the stats and notice he hardly had a touch. I'd persist with him for now but he has to offer more over a whole game.

How the heck would this work? Where's the money? Some of these clubs have tyrefire facilities and operate in the bright red. Sounds like a bunch of Hollywood hogwash, but there's some reasonable sources here I guess. Edit: After studying the article a bit more I can see how absorbing the NEAFL may work. Totally nailed it, Goodwin talks all the time about how we want to be a contested ball team that wants to lock the ball in the 50 yet the ball comes back out repeatedly and when we actually do force a stoppage in the 50 we rarely do anything with it. I couldn't agree more that if this is the kind of side we are then we should be trying to create as many contests as possible, force stoppage after stoppage and frustrate other backlines.

MFC - Need harder running

I still can't get my head around not making a change and getting Harmes onto Bont, he was gashing us. Would it have definitely worked? Who knows, I'd just prefer to see a coach try some things rather than stand there next to his director of coaching looking like idiots.
