GAMEDAY: Rd 08 vs Gold Coast
For next 4 weeks I'm going to be taking a uni course at RMIT and will be finishing today about 5 mins before the ball is bounced. Most likely gonna have to duck in to one of those terrible Lygon pubs.. Anyhoo, yeah big game but let's face it they all are from here on in. Not flashing forward or jumping ahead in my mind just looking forward to finishing today and seeing me some red and blue go around.

Jordan Lewis is absolutely cooked, never pick him again
100% Supermercado. Itâs been the question for a while now as well. If the plan is to just throw J.Wagner in and expect him to control tempo, hit a composed kick on demand and organise the backline then forget it. Having said that to carry this kind of player for over half a season is a stretch (no pun). I canât see anyone becoming this role player any other way than choosing someone and just sticking them down there for a prolonged period of time, accepting mistakes might happen along the way in the process. Similar to persisting with Hunt up forward.

POSTGAME: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
Fantastic result today. Man thereâs no better feeling than being on the right side of a close game and hearing our song as the relief pours in! Couldnât focus as much as possible as usual, had a special guest with me and was trying to keep them entertained. But will give this a shot: James Harmes you star. Elite level midfielder for sure. Clayton Oliver copped some stupid heat from some of those around me, even one suggesting a VFL run. Get stuffed. Hibberd back to the rebounder we know. Salem up the ground was an excellent move and is there a better sight than this guy kicking the ball? Lockhart is a player, the desperation is what sells me on him. Last but not least and some might baulk at this but welcome back Oscar, you belong here.

Let's go Dees! I'm here but have a special guest so only 97% focused instead of the usual 100.

The 2019 Mid Season Draft
Toumpas? You can only imagine what would have happened to the boards if this concept was suggested 2 months ago.

Our Heart Beats True
Totally with you Gorg. My attitude to footy has taken a massive change this year and it was like that right from the get-go well before our nose dive. I still love the game and have gone to every Dees game in Melb so far but the interest seems to end there. Last year Iâd also watch 5-7 games a week (especially Fri night regardless of who was playing) AFL 360, FC, up to 5 footy related podcasts. This year I reckon Iâd be lucky to watch more than 2 or 3 games a round, never watch FNF, never watch any of the shows (occasionally watch FC recorded a day later if lucky). I donât have the patience for it and itâs boring.

Sponsors offers/ discounts etc
Youâre kidding! I had a major dress down in front of 5 mates! Well not that drastic but will be pressing the case a bit more next time!

Sponsors offers/ discounts etc
Yeah itâs a good deal have used it quite a bit. Just have to remember to either start your own tab, canât be used for a group unfortunately.

Welcome Back to the Bottom of the Ladder
In the Saints game I heard someone behind me wanting to play North or Carlton because we could probably beat them. There is no side right now that we could pencil in the way we are playing right now.

CHANGES: Rd 07 vs Hawthorn
I think Iâve given up on match selection. Iâve been pretty quiet on DL during the week and itâs pretty much because I have nothing to add lately. How many more changes can we really put through the wash cycle? Oscar to VFL, Weid to VFL, Trac to VFL I honestly think thereâs been 3 players that havenât been suggested a run in the Magoos. Keep Hore and Lockhart in, maybe persist with the Stretches and ANBs (mostly through lack of alternatives) and the rest can just happen for all I care.

Sam Weideman + contract
I think in the first 4 games I was generally happy with how he was tracking and I still am. Last couple of weeks I would have liked to see him holding a couple more as it will make huge difference to not have the ball hitting the deck every single time. I think more games will help, has been far from our worst despite having a shocker last week. Certainly not ready to lead the line.

Demonland Podcast LIVE Tonight (30/4) @ 8:30pm
Caught up on the podcast just now itâs been very hard to tune in lately. Good job guys, I specially liked Binmanâs tactics for watching games on demand and trying not to have results spoiled. Anyone with Optus Sport might know how difficult this is as you have to squint and avoid even seeing the thumbnail of player or coach interviews and the facial expression can give a bit away!

POST GAME: Rd 06 vs Richmond
Thought sleeping on it might help do a proper review but it didnât, the 2 hours sleep doesnât help matters. The intent from the outset was there and we ran hard to cover and spread (at least try to spread) but we did not have the cutting edge or composure to record a win and we are quite a way off last nightâs opposition, who really didnât play all that well. It really is quite incredible how we just wanted an effort last night. This really looked like a bottom ladder team having a crack and every little bit of good fortune coming from sheer hard work because the talent gap between the two sides was so big. Which is absolute bunk as we know. I donât know, no-one seems to know. But my word I am getting sick to death of everyone I come into contact with asking me âWhat is wrong with Melbourne?â âWhat happened? They were in the preliminary finals last year?â You know, the kind of token idiot water cooler questions. Iâm so sick of trying to explain this as it usually needs more than 5 mins and is a waste of my precious energy. Ala Saturday no potting of players, just the positives: Vineyâs workrate was great but is not fast and is limited in the chaos ball game, Oliver seems to be intent on kicking more now after all the talk about how he doesnât kick enough. I was one of those people, but it may have taken a bit away from a great handball first player. Marty Hore continues to impress me immensely, backs into packs and uses it well. Lockhart must stay in the side for the next month straight at least. Weideman is presenting but he really needs to hold a few more. Frost is working his end off and it has to be said. Ended up at the Social in Swan and then for the 3rd Anzac eve in a row, Maccas in Richmond for a sorrow drowning BM. Man thatâs sad! I would have driven last night if it wasnât humanly impossible to find parking and make it before the Anzac service (which was worth going to the game for alone mind you). Realised PT was on stupid time so ended up getting an Uber back east and then driving a friend home to Kensington, hit the hay at 3, up at 5 and yeah here I am.
