  1. My Yr 12 English teacher used to say "Thinking hurts, that's why no-one does it".
  2. Bit rough on Bowey.
  3. I'm guessing one end is defensive and one end is attack?
  4. Absolutely. Get some quality picks to invest in youth, maybe bring in a much cheaper recycled option from elsewhere as cover in the ruck but the key is to keep getting quality young kids in. It shouldn't be forgotten either that being a new draftee playing alongside good premiership players can potentially fast track their development. It likely won't take forever like it used to in basket case environments of the past.
  5. It is disappointing that we weren't able to trial JVR at some point during the season and Freo was probably the best chance. I don't think we've lost too many games at selection this year but it does make you wonder if we would have been in a better position if we'd got games into him and Chandler who could possibly have made a better case to challenge for a small forward spot. We'll never know though.
  6. Exactly. Teams that know how to setup for it defensively and know exactly where to position themselves for potential turnovers in good areas can handle this fairly comfortably. We really need to vary up the ball movement and entries into the 50. I know it's probably easier said than done because if these guys have had a plan drilled into them to kick long and lock in 50 it can be hard to think of anything else in the heat of the moment. I don't know how the coach can get this across in the best way that doesn't confuse everyone but this is what is needed. When you look at the finals last year our best footy came from when we elected to use quick ball movement and catch the opposition off guard. Mixing this up is going to be the key, it's all about planting that seed in the opposition's mind and hitting up short when they expect us to kick long and kicking long when they least expect it and haven't got time to get set in position. When we want to control the game we can go into kicking long down the line again. Much easier said than done of course.
  7. Game of inches really, if Tom had another 2 weeks up his sleeve that would have made a massive difference. Timing just isn't right.

Not going to go with a Superbowl prediction just yet but I'm going to have a stab at the Division winners for 2022 off the top of my head. Feel free to argue: AFC East - Buffalo Bills AFC North - Baltimore Ravens AFC South - Indianapolis Colts AFC West - LA Chargers NFC East - Philadelphia Eagles NFC North - Green Bay Packers NFC South - Tampa Bay Buccaneers NFC West - LA Rams Quick notes: - Colts upgrade at QB, yes he's getting on but still the best QB in that division. - AFC West is the stacked division. I wouldn't be surprised if they all finish over .500. Giving the Chargers the edge, across the board that is a brilliant roster with few weaknesses but it could be anyone's. - Bruce Arians reckon Brady's passing is better than ever in training camp. Prepare for some big numbers - If someone with a name that isn't Aaron Donald is going to win defensive player of the year I'm tipping Micah Parsons to give it a good shake.
  9. Banana smoothie always a good start to the day!
  10. I do see where Kev is coming from as I'm very much someone who likes both teams fans to get along in the outer. Despite it being against the rules I don't have a major issue with opposition fans in our area as long as they behave themselves and don't use disgusting and offensive language or cause other kinds of trouble. Even if they are playing up I still take the 'live and let live' approach and try to ignore it but that's just me, I'm a non-confrontational person who just wants everyone to get along but that doesn't mean I don't admire people for calling poor behaviour out. We've all got different personalities and if Dante genuinely thought these people crossed the line then I applaud him for trying to address it. If we're on this message board we are most likely true fans so that is not in question to me.
  11. Great post Nairobi_Demon. Always appreciate the people that watch the game back and provide these insights, I'm more the kind of person that burns the tape and never wants to watch it again after a loss like that 😝. Much appreciated!
  12. Massive call to make but if he's in the mix he's clearly done something right.
  13. You don't think our culture has improved?
  14. I can't figure this one out, can you?
  15. Can't someone else do it!
  16. Our supporters do occasionally sound like the get off my lawn types.
  17. I'd be hoping to play harder ball and not get bent over for a 1st rounder so easily. They've got a crappy contract they are trying to move, they have very few suitors that aren't full of p*** and the guy is also coming off an injury. Oh yeah and did I mention that we don't actually need him? Maybe a nice to have but the sky isn't going to fall in if we don't get him.
  18. Well if more streaming is the future then forget live games as we know it. Bring on the 30 second delays and if you have friends get rid of them because there will be a heap more notifications ruining everything before it happens in the stream.
  19. Yep, dig those size 16 heels in!
  20. Think we're all in cider town

It definitely does even out, gee wiz though my blood was boiling watching it. I'd rather watch a dodgy offside VAR than that again!
