GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs Brisbane
That movement in the Bailey goal is exactly what we're trying to achieve. Just a pity we're playing the best in the league at it.

Reasons for our Inaccuracy?
This is a discussion I can't be bothered having anymore. Its been here forever and a day and we all try to figure it out but I'm done with it. We've gone over extra practice, correct practice, fatigue, set shot positions on the ground during games, psychology and so on. I really don't think there is some new thing that we've all completely missed. The fact of the matter is that AFL and club pathway, development and training systems don't value it. We as fans are insignificant when it comes to this, we're just morons who watch the game and then turn up to work on Monday and tell our collegues that we played well but just didn't kick straight or token lines like 'bad kicking is bad football' and then bemoan why they don't take this issue as seriously as we do. Meanwhile in the coaches meeting one brave soul might suggest ab extra 30 mins of set shot training onky to be shouted down that we'd be taking away time from the sports science guy or valuable conditioning time. Sure, a dedicated forward could hang back for 30 mins after training and just kick shot after shot to get ahead but in a full time footy world full of the above plus meetings and other community commitments? I don't think so. This is the way it is. I know it seems like MFC is the only inaccurate team around (and yes we are probably one of the poorer sides in this area) but nearly every team struggles with this problem. It's like wanting to fix climate change, we know it's an issue but who actually wants to fix it and as if you want to be the PM that puts their hand up for the challenge. This is the way it is, my advice is get used to it and just be happy if we can pop through 50% accuracy week to week.

Luke Jackson back to Victoria?
He isn't preparing to seek a trade but maybe in a month he will 😉

POSTGAME: Rd 09 vs Hawthorn
For sure but I did think that we moved the ball with more purpose than we had this season. As far as getting to goal all the positive signs were there, we just crudded the bed with bad kicking. Mainly gettable shots too. We set ourselves up well to win this one but fell short. You could sometimes chalk this down as a gallant defeat but we're 3-6 not 6-3 so I hear you, no margin for error at this point if you need to run the table. Another fadeout too.

POSTGAME: Rd 09 vs Hawthorn
+13 clearances +5 centre clearances +13 cont +15 tackles All key stats to win, If you didn't know the score you would have thought we were a monty. Sucks to lose games like this, Hawthorn were off and it really was there to win.

Ia it a coincidence that we prioritised a kid who could clearly kick the footy with our first pick and in a game where no-one could hit the backside of a barn, his 3 shots on goal all went through?

PODCAST: Rd 09 vs Hawthorn
Thought we approached the game well. Brought a good plan, tried to chip around and use the ground, we controlled it and the game was on our terms. All key stats I wanted to win we did, we simply didn't finish. It is disappointing that in this do or die game we performed admirably but kicked ourselves out of it. I could ask the obvious question of what can we do to improve our accuracy but I kind of feel like we're banging our head against a wall with this one, we've discussed practice, set shot positions, routines ad nauseam so I'm not going to insult anyone's intelligence. I will make the comment that we prioritised a kid who could clearly kick the footy with our first pick and it doesn't appear to be a coincidence that his 3 shots on goal all went through with flying colours, in a game where no-one could hit the backside of a barn,

Came to play, executed the plan quite well I thought. Matched them in most areas. But 7.14 doesn't win you games

We have performed very well. Contested, uncontested, the game is on our terms and we're playing somewhat how we'd like to. If we could be a little cleaner, if we could be a little more clinical in front of goal, if we could keep defensive pressure high we can easily come away with a win.

That ability to quickly gather on the mistake and in one step throw a decent attempt on the boot when no-one else can kick over a tin. We picked the right guy
