  1. Excellent. Time to put him on ice. Have a breather Clarry and then get stuck into a ripping pre season.
  2. We clearly have a challenging situation here, there is no point denying it. But denying that these situations never happen in footy clubs in silly talk as well. Point is that there is an issue here and the club now need to work through this challenge to get everyone on the same page again. This is what management is for. I don't like hearing this talk as much as the next person but we can only trust the club to re-pitch to Trac that this is the best place to be, football wise, health wise etc. Like a long-term relationship sometimes commitment is a series of choices and re-choices along the way.
  3. I love the idea of marketing the hell out of it and pumping up the 'putting one over the old enemy' mantra. If the club's comms knows anything about the majority of our supporter base they will know that this would resonate. I also think a win in this game is something you can take into the off season and build confidence. I'm just not so sure on the Brayshaw one, it just doesn't seem like he's comfortable with anything like this right now. Would love to see it though.
  4. I believe that was me and I definitely see your point. While I do respect the approach of not 'meddling' in issues that relate to the day to day football ops, I believe that the club needed to go hard at the AFL after that verdict. It did feel like we were walked on.
  5. I'd say he's just signalled his intentions for the moment Moe. Unfortunately for him this has been leaked out. We could absolutely hold him to his contract and for many other players I'd expect it but I can't see the club doing that with Alex, not after everything he's given us. Good footy clubs do the right things for good people, Nibbler will be a Demon for life.
  6. I've actually considered that DD! Heard people rave about them plus it would be pretty easy to get onto the bike track where I am. Sure is a big gap between those and the bloody scooters!
  7. Haha yeah bit of a footnote in history JD. We traded him for something like pick 45 so he could get more game time elsewhere. The Scott Thompson one did hurt. It all came together before he got hurt in that 04 season, we got Beamer out of it but Scotty was a super player.
  8. Driving in Melbourne stinks right now. I drive 7km every morning and it can take anywhere from 25 minutes to 45. "Take PT then!" Sure why not! What's that? You mean without a car you can't carry more than 10kg of stuff? No worries, I'll just leave the fabric samples/computer/gym gear/anything else bulky at home. Also after an 9-10 hr day there's nothing better than adding another 30 mins on top of that faffing around waiting for buses/trains. When I'm on my death bed my biggest regret will be that I didn't spend enough time on my daily commute.
  9. I don't think we'd play hardball either, what's the point? I'd see it as a Peter Walsh to Port scenario. I do wonder if he can adapt to another side's system easily as he's just been so perfect for ours.
  10. In December I thought top 4 was out of the question. After KB I thought that finals were out of the question.
  11. You lose stars, you gotta make new stars.
  12. In what way would you say his kicking skills are excellent? Macrae's MO has always been as an accumulator that struggled with foot skills and especially penetration in his kicking. Matthew Lloyd once said about how when he came to the club he had to re-learn how to kick off a witches hat because his ball drop was that high. He's improved quite a bit over time but He's probably as good a field kick as Oliver.
  13. As said earlier in the thread, you can never have too many mids that can't kick. Although he did go to school with Viney, maybe a good way to keep him.
  14. I haven't felt this bad about leadership going out the door since Junior Mac.
  15. I think Max is burnt out from all this stuff to be honest. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he felt like stepping down from captaincy. 12 months from hell
  16. One positive is that so many are positive in the Nibbler trade thread and wish him the best.
  17. Have to agree, I think this was happening whenever it was happening. Life..
  18. The memories last forever
  19. Imagine having your eulogy written by Demonland..
  20. Something is not right at the club right now. Constant leaks are not something that just happen, it is a sign that not everyone is on the same page on and off the field. You have to question the motive that they had to leak this news THIS WEEK. There will be people happy to say all is well at the club but this is certainly a blip and trust is being breached by a rat in the ranks.
  21. 90%? I reckon I've given maybe 2 critique posts on Nibbler's game in the last 5 years and while there's plenty here that have heaped it on him, I'm certain that he's beloved by many on here.
  22. The more pertinent question is why was it leaked this week. That's what I'd like to know...
  23. The plans might have been conceived though?
  24. Most people's favourite player that they didn't realise was their favourite. Will miss you Nibbler.
  25. We're stuffed. Leadership down the toilet
