  1. Can't believe Andy swore on the show!
  2. For sure. AF is right though, there seems to be even more of an urge for people to get up from their seats and nick off to the bar. I literally had a guy coming back and wanting to get through during one of our set shots early in the last quarter when the game was in the balance. So annoying.
  3. Sorry it wasn't a question to you. Should have been "Why would they?". I'm in full agreement with you. I couldn't give a stuff about food and beverages or entertainment or any of that prima donna garbage. And I don't want to go get another round, I go to watch the game, that is that and precisely the stuff that drives me crazy.
  4. 3 ganes for De Goey. Pretty light
  5. This is the same with me. Every now and then I might have a few drinks or catch up with people but that's not common and I'd prefer to do it at non MFC games to be honest. I even cringe when I'm there with my mate and get sucked into buying rounds which requires you to go and stand at the bar during the game, I'd honestly rather just wait till the end. There's two things in life I want completely uninterrupted from start to finish: 1) At the Footy 2) At gigs. That means no asking me to go buy stuff during the event, no suggesting other seats or areas to go move to because we don't like this area for whatever reason, no being late and no stuffing around. For that time period I'm parked here and that's it. And I totally agree, most people wouldn't go if there wasn't food and beverage as the attraction. Why would you, Kayo and a well stocked fridge! For a select few of us though the game itself is the attraction. As for the MCC, I use it about 3 or 4 times a year and it's a bit of a waste to be honest.
  6. Chandler has a big game coming soon, might bag hatful.
  7. His achilles is stuffed as well, will definitely miss games here and there.
  8. Does this mean I have to watch 360 tonight? *Groan*
  9. I know just making a silly joke!
  10. I would never! besides it's usually always Thursday! I got a rough idea 🙂
  11. I'm just assuming it's like when people say they will see someone the following Tuesday.
  12. Completely uncalled for, hope they got banned.
  13. Great to hear mate, sounds like some much overdue catchups there.
  14. I don't know what you're trying to prove old55. I asked a question admittedly in a slightly smartalec way, we then proceeded to have a discussion about it which isn't uncommon on these boards and now it seems you're taking a prosecution line and trying to find ways to 'catch' me out with some hostility attached.
  15. The key phrase is a full time coach.
  16. So a) I never said that and b) that's not what was suggested before. But multiple FT coaches for mentoring would make more sense. Would also cost a bit and the AFL haven't shown much intention of investing that kind of money into this area.
  17. They needed a backup safety valve to that backup safety valve! So you reckon a full time umpires coach should devote their time to 50 different part timers at different parts of the week? Where do you build the rapport and mentorship? It's hard enough getting one on one contact hours between full time coach and full time players! Would be like seeing a Uni lecturer for an hour a week.
  18. One thing I believe is for sure: Every fan like us has their own in-built sense of when they believe a game is over. Some are slightly different to others but everyone has one.
  19. NFL

Yeah probably never an elite defence but as Gorg said they did have a few serious ballers who could make plays along the journey, but the magic was definitely with the QB. Mccarthy to me was a reasonable coach but not much more and I'm clutching at straws here but I always felt that because he was part of the group in SF that 'passed over' Aaron in the 2005 draft, it could have made for an awkward relationship in GB (at least at the start). Certainly wasn't a match made in heaven. Ted Thompson was always in my view one of the better GMs going round but there are plenty of questions over their roster decisions in that time. As for the running game under Mccarthy, I can't even think off the top of my head who the running backs were in his time. Lacy? Grant? That's all I got right now.
  20. Get well soon.

How long is the creative process for coming up with the tagline? Does it take a bit of time brainstorming with a group of people or is it like when I'm frantically trying to come up with a name for a new chair at the last minute? Also is it a week by week thing or do the lines get decided in advance?
  22. I thought Essendon's win actually lost them brownie points in their quest for finals. North lost Simpkin and Greenwood in that first half and the Dons still had to work for their win, yes they dominated territory but all the other KPIs aside from I50s were pretty even in the end.

Couldn't be happier for Ange, his career arc has been something truly impressive and he's got a unique football philosophy that is now catching eyes. It's not a style that can be adapted to instantly but after a half a season it will be fully dialed in and you'll see the fruits. I'm not sure how far they are into their search for a sporting director but if they can make the right appointment here and bring in the right signings for Ange's system then we could really see some magic. Well done Ange!
  24. They say a genius makes complicated things look simple 🙂 Seriously though it's a good skill to have.
  25. Mixed views on this but it's a good observation you've brought up Jumping Jack Clennett, these are the kinds of conversations I like seeing on DL.
