I'll echo these statements and say the podcast has gone to a new level this year. It's currently the only one I listen to. I don't have anything to suggest out of the ordinary that you won't be doing already eg grading our performance thus far or grading forward, mid and back groups etc. Maybe which player is the midyear B & F, which player is the mid year 'coaches award' or best improver so far and who has been most underwhelming.

Rarefied air, no distractions, nothing else to focus on but a shot at a flag.

What about Chip Frawley in his all Australian year with us? Never got heaps of it and wasn’t the best kick but his ability to get one on one and judge the ball in flight was unmatched, his closing speed was also a major asset.

Any good highlights from the last time we had a bye? Were there any good rubdowns at the massage table or solid walks around the block? Any of the players see any good movies or new tv shows on Netflix?

Dunno but 12 goals in the last 3 weeks, I'd love to see him out!

What is this? Cricket? I admire the noble act from these two but it sort of undermines the coach and selection committee process. The coach needs to be in charge and command respect, if this starts happening on a regular basis then the players may as well run the team themselves.

When arriving at the Tippler before the game we were taken to our booth and there were 3 Collingwood guys sitting at the table next to us. As I approached one of them moved his scarf off the seat and said something like "I don't want you touching my stuff" to which the rest of the table did one of those cringy, old timer, 'jolly good show' laughs. Obviously I replied that I didn't want to touch his stuff either. You have to admire it in a way though, the world hates their guts and they still manage to think that their excrement comes out in the form of a diamond.

Either way the optics sure looked good to the public!

Had Grundy kicked the goal after that it would have been the biggest lift ever. Gave me goosebumps similar to Neitz on McCabe or Whelan on Hird. There's nothing in my view that fires you up as a fan more than when you goal straight after these moments.

That's right. I joked in another thread that if 1% of Pies members are true decent footy fans that it still leaves 99% of 100,000 members that are total jerks. The flip side is that 1% of that is still 1,000 decent fans, credit where it's due. Next time we should assign people who sit in each part of the ground to report on the crowd loudness 😄

Good question, I felt like it was a poster each for Kade and Trac but might be wrong.

I think the booing of Grundy was pretty audible right at the start but you may well be right that there could have been sections of Collingwood fans who didn't boo or even gave him some credit for his time, this could have given our drowning out the extra 5% it needed. I have no way of saying this did or didn't happen but it could be a plausible explanation. Whether or not it was the loudest we've been for a while I will say that I was incredibly proud of our fans in that moment. As soon as the booing started nearly every Melb fan around me got stuck in with cheering and support, some who never say a word were clapping vigorously. In the past our club would have folded faster than Superman on Laundry day, I'm so happy to see we now have some fight in us.

I'm happy to keep prior opportunity but I'd like to get rid of anything other than a clear kick or handball penalised, none of this knocking out of the hands play on if they've had prior.
