  1. It screams friendly tiddlywinks rivalry.
  2. Channel 7 is obsessed with the signs they hold up from the bench.
  3. Cripps is not good right now
  4. Hopefully everything works out
  5. It was a great Grand Final. What's greater is the number of scoring shots West Coast missed in that last quarter that Pies fans conveniently forget about when whining about the Rioli block on Maynard.
  6. Well I just spent about 3 hours around crowds at Rising in the city tonight and will be at the game with 85k+ on Monday. I'm doomed aren't I?
  7. I do worry for BBB. Would love just one more run at it for him.
  8. 10 goals, 10 behinds tonight. Most inaccurate they've been for 6 weeks. Just sayin..
  9. I do see what you mean but we aren't saying it. We're not 'talking' where just 'talking'.
  10. Need to go get them
  11. Great win for the Tigers, what an enjoyable midnight of Kayo mini watching!
  12. Well done Hawks, hopefully a nice little slump coming up for the Lions.
  13. Well that sucks
  14. Going deep
  15. Can anyone drive Weightman to the hospital?
  16. They're going pretty fast
  17. I'm not saying we'll try but we'll try to try.
  18. Would have loved to have caught some more of his career. Still so grateful, thanks Tulip.
  19. Go Doggies
  20. Honestly if all we do is kick straight we'll win. Less Collingwood kick-ins.
  21. The 3rd quarter against West Coast was their worst quarter across all those games mentioned. They looked like pee-wee racers, they got it together in the last but by then the Eagles had fired their shot and were running on fumes. They're a good side for sure, but they're far from the best 11-1 side I've seen. If it bleeds we can kill it.
  22. Never know, it's easy to hire a few rent a clowns with speakers these days..
  23. So important for them last night, will be a big loss if he's out.
  24. With the big game against the old enemy only days away, I’d like to share an interesting book by a local author. The Dominant Years by Ken Mitchell documents the period between 1926 and 1966 when Melbourne and Collingwood were the superpowers, during this time the VFL Grand Final featured at least one of these teams on 25 occasions. Ken Mitchell is a former VFL boundary umpire of 13 years and a former MFC director when Ron Barassi was lured back to the club as coach in the 80s and passionate about the history of the game as a neutral. He’s also good friends with former Collingwood premiership player Thorold Merrett who was a big supporter in the book being published and to remind the football world of the rivalry between these clubs and how the 1958 VFL premiership could be the most significant in history. Year by year they go through the premiership seasons of both clubs and there are some amazing photos from the time. A very accessible read. He isn’t selling in bookstores yet (Doesn’t have an ISBN yet either). I bought mine for $25 at the Cotham Rd Newsagency in Kew as Ken lives in that area. However if you are interested in getting a copy you can make an enquiry to [email protected], he’s always up for a good footy chat. Or DM me and I'll let you know if the newsagent still has any next time I'm in the area.
