  1. Great post. Even if we just level the first quarter we win this game IMO. It felt like it took 5 mins to even go inside 50.
  2. The problem is in finals, nearly is not good enough. Did you win or did you lose, that's what the legacies are judged by. Geelong nearly beat Brisbane in the 2004 prelim but fluffed a lot of shots, they led at half time in the 2019 prelim but same thing, does anyone remember these facts or give a toss? No. During the season is a great time to take learnings and pat ourselves on the back for honourable losses but it doesn't cut it in finals. If we kicked straighter we would have won correct, why didn't we kick straighter is my question. Was it weather, technique or did we simply choke at the critical moment after being accurate for most of the season? Close is just not good enough in these games. Perspective is great to have but reality bites.
  3. I think it was the GWS game. Simple kicks to open targets being totally ignored and just blazing away. If there's two games where we beat ourself it's the GWS game and this one.
  4. That's right. It felt like 5 mins until we even took the ball inside 50. It would have been great to lock it in our 50 more in that quarter.
  5. Think Harmes did his hammy?
  6. We should have won and gone straight through to the prelim.
  7. And just get in there and kick some goals for crying out loud.
  8. Whether they were good or not their forward line only needs to flex their muscles to put serious points on the board.
  9. I'll drive him to the airport.
  10. Dagger through heart
  11. I wouldn't worry mate, floodgates are open..
  12. I hope they do to be perfectly candid and not at all for selfish reasons.
  13. Yes, and when you have the ball and are beaming into 50, you're thinking about delivering into 50 not protecting yourself from a wrecking ball or a bolt of lightening.
  14. Sounds plausible to me!
  15. Exactly right! The big story out of this is we as viewers bow have a duty of care before we decide to turn the volume up on the broadcast or choose to listen to the numps on SEN because it's been proved that it's bad for our health.
  16. I'll have a scotch and coke please.
  17. Me too, it's carp.
  18. Yep I think that's where we're at Macca. The leaving the ground and connecting with the head carries a penalty whether footy act or not. Even the most pure footy act could in rare cases have a 4 game suspension because we want players to be responsible. I said before, if you're driving in the wet and don't take precautions and decide to drive faster and not slower, when you lose control of the car and hit another one it isn't a 'driving act' and you are considered reckless. We have a duty of care to not drive like maniacs in that situation and would understandably pay the penalty because we're responsible for other motorist's safety as well as our own. I think this is now similar, you can fly in the air all you want and yes you'll probably make some great plays doing it, but connect with someone's head and you're stuffed.
  19. Very well said. The sum of parts doesn't quite add up.
  20. I think that's where the mentality is changing. The excuse of not being able to change direction in mid air isn't cutting it now. Responsibility starts at the choice to leave the ground and the fact is that once you leave the ground you have very little control, just like if you choose to drive fast in the wet then lose control and hit someone. That's the message I'm getting anyway.
  21. It is, very good.
  22. Haven't been watching, could the G's actually do some damage next week?
  23. Someone's been reading the Aaron Vandenberg playbook
  24. Yeah probably not, also didn't realise that was a channel 7 interview so yeah thumbs down jerks.
  25. Can you honestly say in the 5 years he's been in the job that things have gotten better? I agree, it's time for him to go. Why did they go away from a panel in the first place? Too many chefs in the kitchen or some crud like that?
