  1. If Goodes plays he will be sub, you can't have a rules for Jack Watts that are different to teams rules, he needs to learn this.
  2. I think Jamar, Kent and Garland come in for Watts, Terlich and Evans, line up Jetta Pederson Georgiou Garland McDonald Grimes Vince N Jones Cross Kent Frawley Howe JKH Dawes Jamar Spencer Tyson Viney Mckenzie, M Jones Dunn Bail
  3. We need to accept Watts for the player he is and not the player we wanted him to be. What we can't except is lack of effort, I don't care for stats as there is so many easy touches in AFL football to get your numbers up, but when you don't run and work hard that is unacceptable. Jack needs to be dropped, bring in players that want to run and work hard.
  4. I think the back have of this year we will be a much better team.
  5. McKenzie really? We take out guys that can't kick and we add a guy who can't kick. To me Gawn, Blease, Kent Out Pederson, Fitzpatrick, Bail Line Up Terlich McDonald Georgiou Grimes Frawley Dunn Watts N Jones Vince Kent Howe Blease JKH Gawn Byrnes Spenser Tyson Cross Trengove, Michie, Toumpas, M Jones Pure speed through our forward line, get Frawley out of Full back and try him as a CHB, Dunn needs to be our play maker from HBF he is the only one that can kick. Trengove has to be in the midfield rotations in the guts not on a wing
  6. I'm not buying into this tall forward stuff, you use the ball well you can hit any target big our small. The way the game is it is all about the hit up to leading players. Watch our game again even the West Coast talls didn't take marks because they were tall it was because the lead hard got a break and the kick was well executed. Hardly no wrestling strong big man marks. A tall would be great a a get out but we can't kick to advantage so the ball hits the deck and out it comes. Small and quick honour the lead and hit the kick that has to be the focus this week, hit the first option lead, move it quick, don't think to much. Then when our talls are ready we are able to hit them on leads at the moment it wouldn't matter who is in our forward line we just can't hit targets
  7. Yep, wasn't he the player that missed his foot when he went to kick a ball and couldn't run a simple fumbled ball over the line
  8. He is right the club needs a massive injection of confidence, a spark something that gets these guys playing at their best. To me it has to be an injection of speed, nothing better than seeing players run and carry the football, running away from players taking a couple of bounces. With that in mind Blease, Kent and Evans need to come in all three can carry the football and Kent can kick it 60m. I would like to see Jetta get a game in our back 6, that hard edge and his foot and evasive skills are good. We have to many players that go through the motions, get players in that are fighting for their AFL survival or have the hunger.
  9. The problem is we have to many players that over a period of time have shown they can't hit targets. We carry to many players that can't execute the skill that the game is all about. You can carry a couple into a game, we carry 6-7 players that with Footy in hand are a massive concern. 5 off these players are in our back half at the moment, most teams set attack off Half Back take Dunn out we have no body back there that you have 100% confidence in with footy in hand.
  10. I agree but would like to change one thing, it is not trust and belief in one another it is trust and belief you their own skills to hit the target. I hate to blame past coaches but I think our players were drilled so hard over the past few years on the safe down the line option that they have lost belief in themselves to attack and take risks.
  11. Do you know what we play Hogan he gets smashed, if we can't create space in our forward half with no talls how are we going to create space when then are back. Having talls will be great but we need to find a way to create space in our forward 50m arc, this is the problem in both games Saints and WCE they just sat back across half back and counter attacked. They know our team isn't good enough to hit targets so they just flood back and wait for the back kick that will come. Turnover, run hard forward score, Nothing will change that until we can move the ball fast and hit targets. You can have Wayne Carey in his prime in our forward line at the moment and he wouldn't get the footy, he would end up belting someone out of shear frustration.
  12. I wonder how many posters that have Frawley in the votes went to the MCG yesterday, some of his one on one work was good but ball in hand he may as well walked over and handed it to a west coast player. Him and Grimes are the leaders of that back 6, it would be interesting to see how many goals where created by turnovers fumbles from our back 6. To be what I thought would be a strength of our club the back 6 is a big liability, they are the turnover kings. Funny, last year our Mids woeful, this year mids looking OK at least getting the footy, I'm starting to think we severely over rated our back 6.
  13. I can answer why they don't kick to Watts, it's the same as why they don't kick to Toumpas, these two lead to dangerous spots, spots that give us the best chance to score but also spots that if turned over you will get scored against. Our players are scared to kick to those spots, they have been for years, we take the safest option until we turn it over. What is the point playing ineffective talls, you are better of dropping them and bringing in some more run. Have Spencer and a back up hopefully Gawn. Get Pederson, Bail and Fitzy out bring in Gawn, Kent, Blease. Blease and Kent have the ability to run and carry the footy and both love a goal. Go shorter is better than playing players that are a liability.
  14. Yep, my kids have have grand parents that follow Fremantle, Col Sylvia is their favorite player, in fact they wanted number 4 on their Melbourne Jumpers not for Jack Watts but this is Col's number at Fremantle. I'm involved with an Auskick center with 150 kids plus a junior club with about the 100 kids, the only Melbourne kids in the whole club are my two kids. There are more kids that support interstate teams than Melbourne. I went into a few Rebel sport shops last week both in the East and Western Suburbs, no MFC merchandise on sight. We are a irrelevant club, a joke no one cares about the MFC.
  15. We have plenty of players getting the footy, we are to slow with our ball movement. Watch Watts, Trengove and Toumpas they are often running to the spot for the next kick, but the guy with the footy is either to slow to see them, refuses to kick to them or wants the safe option when we have someone 50m in the clear because they can't kick to advantage and are scared to miss the target. We need players that can pin point kick over 35m to have the ability to kick to advantage when the person you are kicking to only has a small break. Don't kick to far in front, don't kick behind them kick to the exact spot it needs to be. Our players think to much, strip it back, play on, fast ball movement and first option, they have to stop second guessing themselves.
  16. We need changes but looking what we have I can't see to many changes that would make a difference. Viney is one that if fit is good enough to play, Garland yep but he hasn't played a game this year, Gawn is there much difference between Gawn and Fitzpatick or Spencer. like the players I just look at what we have and I'm defeated
  17. We just have to many players that can't execute skills. You read people ripping into Trengove for his speed, Jack on a number of times made space worked 100m on a lead for the kick to be behind him or a mile in front. Our team can't kick, we have 10 players yesterday that don't have the disposal levels required at this level. It starts from the back 6, Dunn is the only one that can kick, in fact he is by far our best kick in our back half. Frawley, MacDonald, Grimes, Terlich, M Jones. We can't set up play from our back half because we don't have the quality back there to bring the footy out well. The team is not slow by foot, if we line up our players V's the Eagles for a 50m race it would be even, we are slow because we refuse to move the ball quickly, we don't play on, we take a mark run straight back behind our mark miss the best option because our brains are to slow, usually miss the next best option because our brains question our ability and then we switch. We switch first kick is good, then we stop go back miss the second kick and we are opened up. If you switch the footy you have to have players working to receive on the far wing, get the switch and move it quick. The Eagles did exactly what St Kilda did, just sat back across half back and waiting for us to turn it over then scored on the counter attack. Once again the Eagles didn't need to run both ways they just ran forward in numbers our guys worked hard back and forth all game. GWS will get us by 10 goals this week, Carlton by 10 the week after and we will have 4000 people at a home game against Gold Coast on Easter Sunday. I hope the AFL has the cheque book ready we are going to need another massive hand out
  18. What do you think the AFL has done over the past 6 months. They removed our board and CEO, put a CEO in and I'm sure had a hand in getting Roos to the club. It's not the AFL's responsibility to tell clubs who to draft.
  19. Everything the club sells has to be through an AFL license holder. These aren't cheap and you will find all the clubs have the same stuff. The design side our club sucks, I still believe we should be pushing our colours more to the red rather than Blue. All club apparel should be red. Look at the sporting brands with Red as their main colour. Get away from the Navy. I remember a few years back we played Hawthorn at the MCG, what stood out to me was the yellow in the crowd
  20. Yelling at Jack Watts to Tackle or Bail to hit a target or just at the team for being so crap hasn't worked so may as well try something different
  21. East Freo's zone has always been strong, was even stronger when I was playing WAFL they had half of the old Sunday League zoned to them as well, that was changed to Perth's zone but to late the Sunday League started to die. East Freo from memory also have a very good country zone.
  22. Looking at the positive side of our injury list, besides our 3 tall forwards it looks like every is available either this week or next. You add Garland down back, get Viney into the mid field, Gawn will play this week and Jamar is almost right.
  23. I'm heading back to Perth in a couple of weeks and looking forward to getting down to watch the Demons play. Lathlain Park is a great place to play footy it is a monster of a ground. Great to see the Demons beat Claremont, Claremont always has been a good team but that was on the back of their AFL players coming back. I believe this year West Coast and Fremantle are aligned with one club each which should see clubs like Claremont and Subiaco drop down the ladder which will be great to see.
  24. If we can't turn shorter players into taller ones the shorter players need to work harder into space to create so we don't have to kick it long into an undersize forward line
  25. This is the problem and it is for bad teams, the players aren't good enough to kick around spare men in defense. Good team know we will most likely kick it straight to their loose men and then all they need to do is run hard on the offensive spread and it will open us up. We have to work so hard to get the ball inside 50m, as soon as we turn it over we never regain our defensive position. Unlike us where we relay on two way running, unless our skills can dramatically improve our opponents can sit back across half back and wait for a turnover, they don't have to work hard defensively which then makes us look unfit and slow.
