Bruce has been good for our club, but in comparison to other players he is not elite, I wouldn't class him as an A grade player but on the next level which is above average.
-
Neitz it pains me to say but if he can't improve, which I think he can, but if he can't maybe fitting farewell game queens birthday, the big stage for one last time. I hope he can improve because he deserves to lead us on the ground against Geelong for our birthday match, that would be the best way to see him off.
-
I must confess I have always be critical of Bruce. Maybe because a lot of people made him out to be an elite AFL footballer which he isn't that. I accept him for what he is a hard running a little above average AFL footballer. I think sometimes we all search for elite players with in our club and when you don't have any we try to make someone who is not, one.

It's not our small forwards or Key forwards are the concern. Newton is only every going to be a second maybe third tall forward and reminds me of Robbo, high flying but lacks work ethic. Our present listed Key forwards Neitz, Robertson, Miller, Holland, Dunn, Newton, Garland. Not much here to get excited about A rookie may turn out to be our best option, Zomer 196cm 93kg kicked 7 yesterday.

Yeh not far off , getting beaten by three bottom eight teams from 2007.
-
Carlton are rubbish and will not win four games this year. They don't know how to win, Losing culture its hard to break it.
-
It will be Garland or Frawley, hope it is Frawley, put him on Hawkins
-
I think the first four named on the bench will play and C Johnson to come in if Davey doesn't play. We will inject a quick tall in Frawley, a quick small Aussie and Rivers for two guys that can't get near it and one that needs a lot more development. Good bench if we line up with Frawley, Buckley, Aussie, Morton that gives you a snap shot of our future average age under 20.
-
The only way he will play for MFC is if one of Mclean, Jones, McDonald or Moloney goes or gets injuried long term.
-
Sylvia is not a dud he just isn't the superstar we had hope he would be. He is just an AFL footballer at the moment, at least he is that 50% of our list at the moment aren't even that standard
-
To trade someone is difficult, firstly the player wants to go, secondly a club wants that player and thirdly the clubs have to come to terms. It is no point trading someone if yuu aren't going to get a pick that they are worth. Col Sylvia is a prime example assuming he wants to leave and a club wants him what would the club settle for IMO a top 25 pick would be required anything less and you may as well keep him he will be more worth to you than a late second/third round pick

Moloney and Petterd didn't play at Sandy they wont come in this week. Garland and Weetra have to be dropped with Davey injuried. In Rivers, Maric, Whelan Match ups Bartram-Ablett Whelan-Chapman Rivers-Mooney Bell-Johnson Line up Whelan Carroll Bell Bartram Rivers Wheatley Morton Mclean Bruce Green Miller Sylvia Maric Neitz Robertson White McDonald Jones PJ, Dunn, Bode, Buckley

I wonder what Morton, Grimes, Bartram, Jones etc. think when..

They might htink great our current leaders a gone soon, maybe if I put my head down work hard and play well They may be captian in a few years. No one else on our list is putting their hand up -
Our list in 98 was a lot better then today look at the spine Lyon/Neitz, The OX, Viney, Ingerson, Shanahan. Then ad in the 2 Febey's, Tingay, Stynes, Hopgood, Smith The wiz, Chell, Rigoni plus some kids White, Robbo, TJ. I'm sure I have mist but that team should of won the Flag.
-
No room on the list at the moment, same player with less ability that Jones, Mcdonald and Mclean a little behind Moloney but they all play the same role. We need fast skillful midfielders which unfortunately for Shane he is not, has OK skills but nothing special. If one of those four went on the long term injury list or left at the end of the year then yes could be worth a go.

I have a theory, these re-usable membership cards, there is no urgency for Members to sign up therefor waiting till the first home game, we lose by 100+ points old members think I'm not signing up if their form turns around then I will sign up. Usually you sign up before the season so you get your card before the season starts know we don't have to. Food for thought

We have players on our list that no matter how bad they played for the past 10 years they played every week except when injured and even then played. It would be a shock to them this was true. I wouldn't think though this would be the case with younger players he prides himself on being an educator and he is smart enough to know which players can cop a bake. If players at the end of the year want to leave good bye most of them on present form aren't good enough for other clubs to want them.
-
One of ur big problems is at clearances, we have two many players trying to win the footy. Sounds strange but Mclean, Jones, Mcdonald and co all want the footy and dont assist he other player who has it. West Coast, Geelong, Hawks all protect the player with the ball and create a path for them to break clear and have an effective clearance. Everytime we get the ball at stopages we are tackled and can't get clean possesions. Help you team mate out but we are playing like 22 individuals and that won't make you competitive.
-
One thing he isn't a defensive midfielder. He is a forward play him as a forward stop trying to make him something he isn't. If he has a big engine play him as the hard leading forward.
-
Bruce doesn't have the foot skills to be apart of Baileys game plan. He can get it just can't hit targets. We have to be honest and realise that Cam Bruce has been a good player for the club but will not help us win a premiership as he will be retired before we can build a team to challenge. Do we keep him or try and get a second round pick for him and really start to build our team for the future. If we keep him he will be another Yze.
-
Bring on round 7 when Dean Bailey and the match commitee decide which players are our future, White, Bruce, Miller enjoy a flag at Sandy. I would get 20 touches playing on a wing by myself like White has for the past 3 years. Bruce doesn't have the skill to be able to play under Bailey, maybe we treat him like Holland only bring him in for the Brad Johnson match up two games a year. Yze Magic I actually agree with you these three are our past time to move on. Mclean will get better.
-
Weetra and Garland have done nothing to indicate that they can play at this level. Do we give them more time, yes at Sandy and bring in two new kids, Maric as a small forward and Mcnamara or better still an 80% fit Rivers. We need to play our younger players because our older ones are rubbish and getting worse.

Firstly, we will win today and over 40,000 will attend, but that is up to all supporters getting to the game, don't wait for the replay get to the MCG you won't be disappointed. The winning part I have confidence in our players that we can beat the dogs. Secondly, We have secured a top line CEO that has the contacts to increase our sponsership and improve the clubs adminstration. This was an amazing get by our Board. Thirdly, Chris Connelly amazing we can get this past player back to the club he was a good coach a fremantle and we have him as our Football Manager, already he has addressed our training base problem, another great win for the club. Next, today look over to the new home of the MFC, it is being built, every week we go to the MCG take a look and get excited about our new home. There is more our debt has been dramatically reduced, once the balance of 2.7mil can be wiped out we can start making some big profit numbers. Ex players are starting to show more interest in the club, the club is really starting to unite, still a bit away but it is happening. The only negative is the supporters, the club can't make supporters attend games and buy memberships that is upto us. We can make this club a great club again by getting to games even if we are losing. The club is putting things in place on their side to rectify some long stanging problems it is time for us the supporters to stand up and be counted.
-
Maybe Joe Gutnick can come back and wipe our debt. We all point the finger at Paul Gardiner but what about the rest of the board. Which members on the board have been there a long time, Bev comes to mind she has been their for what three maybe four president/Chairman. Who else have long stay and in that time not much has changed. Gardiner I believe has addressed some big issues at the MFC items that should have been addressed 10 years ago.

Since 1997 have we drafted any KPP that are above average AFl Player, the only two I can think of are Robbo and Rivers. In 1998 we had Lyon, Neitz, The Ox, Shaun Smith as our key forwards with Farmer as well. Robbo also played a bit. Down back we had Ingerson and Shanahan, Since then we have not had the KPP spine and we still haven't addressed this. No FB, a CHB that has missed but can play, no CHF and a aging Neitz. OUr early drafting picks have been very poor.
