With Trade week almost over we look forward to the national draft and 2010 season. All our current players I wish them well and hope they can all stay healthy as preseason training starts next week. Get Fitter stronger and work your arse off we expect big improvements from you all.
-
Mark Williams, and then make West full time mid field coach
-
From this comment we will be offering picks 34 and 50 plus players to try and get a couple more picks in th 20's. We need to create 3 more spots on our list, the club is trying to trade away players for picks to avoid delistings.
-
As it stands we have 4 spots on our list, IMO we need 3 more to enable us to use 5 picks in the National Draft 1 rookie promotion and pick 1 in PSS, we will be trying to offload a couple of players to minimise any delisting. Unfortunately Jamar and Buckley may have some value to get better our picks in the Nat draft. I'm hoping we can get a 20-25 pick so we can get 5 players with in the top 25 picks.
-
I read that we want to improve our draft picks Jamar isn't worth pick 9 but this deal could work Port gets Jamar Picks 18 and 34 Melb gets Picks 8 and 24 I would be happy with that 4 picks in the first round and improve our third round pick into a early second round.

Has Dangerfield signed with Adelaide, he would be out off contract based on standard 2 year contract for the drafted players
-
They are just awaiting to see if Fev goes, if he goes to the Pies they will try to offer us pick 14 instead, unfortunately this deal might not go through until the Fev deal is done.
-
The Hawks must be offering up some players, as it stands now, assuming they use pick 9 to Port, there first pick in the national draft will be Pick 57, from memory each club must have a min of three picks in the national draft.

On Miller, I like him as that lead up CHF and he will present contest all day. According to most people the players we have drafted in recent drafts have very good foot skills, if that is the case Miller will be a better player, if we can hit him on a lead he will mark it. The next stage is to get Davey and Co running past at speed for Miller to hand off. He can be a very important player with the right delivery and people running past.

From watching this year, I get the impression that Bailey wants our second ruckman to play as a tall forward. Your No1 ruck should ruck for 75% of match time, if you can get a player that can ruck for the other 25% and be a true forward option for the rest of the time and can kick goals you would need to consider with pick 11. With the little knowledge I have on this guy, we was highly regarded and could fill the above roll.
-
I haven't really read much about this guy, from what I have isn't he about 201cm Key Forward/Ruckman. Looking at Draft results quick for a big guy. I would love to have a forward that can kick goals and be a back up ruckman, from what I have read this guy can be that player.

I unfortunately work with some die hard Pie supporters and they actually know a bit about footy. They would be shattered if Dawes left them, they think he his a very good footballer and we should see this in 2010. I haven't seen much of this guy but he is a good size and if the Pies get Fev this guy will be out the door.

I drove down Swan Street this week, the Bubbledoom they are starting in sections to put the roof pieces in. The oval that has been cleared for us look slike they are working on the drainage, there is a fair bit of land enough for a good size oval. When olympic park becomes the Pies Oval, we will have the oval that is currently be worked on plus the oval the pies currently train on. Is this the first time for a long time that the club is going forward? If our onfield performance can start to match the off field our club will be great once again.
-
He looks to be one on those players thats hits the footy at full speed, not many players can do this around stoppages one C Judd is the best at it. It makes the player look extremely fast even if the aren't.

Dream Team - no more mids after Tom and Jack
drdrake replied to The Chazz's topic in Melbourne Demons
Even today the club has stated via its web page it would look to trade for picks, IMO the only we would be looking for another mid 20 pick, this will take a player and pick 34 or 50 depending on the player to get this. I a point I agree with the no more mids and I see us drafting 1 Scully 2 Trengove 11 KPP 18 KPP 22-26 Mid size defender 50 Pass for to use PSD pick 1 -
We all know he is coming to Melbourne, this just confirms he knows it as well already throwing up MFC company lines. It is on the AFL website along with an article about Trengove.
-
I read an artical on Fox Sports were Aaron stated his family was the main key to any decision, you are at this level for a short period of your life, Aaron now has stability, stable income, home for 4 years. I wonder if Frog is out of contract next year?
-
Miller to ruck, Warnock up forward,.. McLean to Carlton
drdrake replied to tallstuey's topic in Melbourne Demons
I wonder at what stage Brock was approached by Carlton and had decided to go. The only reasons you leave a club is you have the shits or more cash, I think Brock was the first one. Don't forget at Carlton he os going to be the fourth best midfielder, he will seem a better player there because he wont get the attention that he did at Melb. Also maybe his body might not be able to stay heathy for a long period so he has to think short term and finals. -
I would be interested in trading pick 35 and a player to try and get another 21-25 pick, but I with out knowing what is really available, I would keep 1,2,11,18 unless a very good player is available. 1 Scully 2 Trengove 11 KPP 18 KPP 21-25 Ruck 50 Pass for PSD
-
If Fev goes to say Sydney or another bottom 8 team, and get there first round pick do we ask for that pick instead of 11 for Mclean?
-
Trengove might attend the SA state based screenings which is usually a few weeks later
-
The fixture will have a big factor in how many games we win. We showed enough this year to think we can win 7-9 games.
-
If True hopefully he had the screws removed recently and this is to cater for that.
-
I was all for picking a mid than tall forward, that was from the little information that I had about the depth of Key forward s in the draft. Over the past few weeks there seems to be a few tall forwards that sound like they can play and I'm confident we can pick one up with pick 18, so my opinion has changed to Scully and Trengove.
-
He is going No 1 regardless whether he plays this week and if he attends draft camp. It wouldn't supprise me if the MFC medical team is involved this week with him if he did injury his knee.
