The way our players are dropping, by the Fremantle game we will be lucky to have 22 fit players. We are not tanking, we have lost 4 players to injury plus a forward that straight after last weeks game the coach confirmed he didn't adhere to team rules(for the thrid time this year). We bring in the best available and don't forget our VFL team has been playing very well and the players named have all featured in best players over the past 3 weeks. It's a shame this game isn't at the MCG I would love to see these guys play.

Like any good team we need a mix of all types of players and that includes age and experience.
-
If he comes in it will mean one of Mclean, McDonald, Moloney or Jones is out.
-
He comes off Bruce goes on creates another spot on our list. If we have pick 1,2/3, 19, 35, 51 we will take 5 players plus promote Spencer, and keep pick 1 or 2 pre season draft pick, thats 7 spots on our list that needs to be created. If we have pick 2/3, 18, 34, 52 plus Spencer and Pre season pick that is only 6 players. The other side is we have 2 veterans at the moment, if both go plus Whelan we would only have 1 player that can go onto that list, which will only create a rookie spot.

Robbo's future my come down to how many games we win this year. If we win less then 5 he is gone if we win more than 5 he will stay. The reasoning behind that is if we get a priority pick we will have to delist 6 players, if we don't 5, I'm assuming that Spencer will get promoted and we may look at Hughes or Valenti as well. I reckon McNamara will be offered a rookie spot at the end of the year so that will make way for one of Hughes/Valenti. He have to give credit to Robbo, on current stats G Lyon has played 1 more game and kicked 7 more goals then Robbo, and Robbo has played in a key role since 2002, for a bloke that should have been a HFF he has acheived great things at our club and when is finishes be it this year or next he will be the MFC third highest goal kicker.

If Mclean is a little injuried time to put him out for the year, we needs to be ready to go at the start of preseason. Besides Bruce, we have many topics that retire of Robbo and McDonald.
-
I wasn't able to see much of the game, but isn't great to see all young players in the votes. Look slike the only senior player that played well was Green, then we hae a mixture of Moloney, Grimes, Bennell, Morton, Bate, Frawley, Petterd, Jurrah and Bartram
-
That 98' midfield must of been a good one, most mentioned would have been apart of this Viney, Tingay, Rigoni, Yze, Woey, Leoncelli, the Febey's and TJ, I'm sure some have been missed some Nice mix of inside midfielders and outside pace/skill
-
Maybe Gerard Healy got a phone call from a past team mate or brother asking him to put this out there as his club may not finish last and they want this kid. Hopefully the next rumour will be he has got stress fractures and will be out for two years. Go 3aw keep putting this stuff out there just in case we win more games.

I remember an artical a few weeks back that listed the No of rising star nominees that are still playing for each club, from memory we where equal first, now we have the most, our future is bright.
-
I'm rapt that the club has generated an 1.2million of revenue, hopefully the short sponsership will happen and add another 3-500K per year
-
Take out the tanking articles which will continue to go on unitl the end of the year or until we win 5 games which ever comes first. So other story's positives looks like we get a Darwin game next year for 400K, an additional 100K per home game at the MCG 900K(looks like we will still play a Canberra game) and another rising star. Hopefully in two years both home games away from the MCG will be in Darwin and we get the NT Government as our short sponser more $$$ Our club is going forward regardless of what draft picks we get both on and off the field.
-
Morton won't be dropped, I though he was good yesterday. Out Bell In Bartram Then against North two weeks later we have four changes Out Robbo, McDonald, Bartram, Dunn In Watts, Bennell, Cheney, Bail
-
Won't be despair if he goes to a basket case like Fremantle, he can be the new Pav, one stand out in an ordinary club
-
I'm a strong believer that Bate will only get better as the side gets better, if fact he has the ability to be a 40 goal + forward as long as he is the third or fourth forward option. I still think Miller will slot into our forward line for that stronger body or maybe Martin is breing groomed for this role. Round 1 next year if all are fit we will line up like this Jurrah Watts Aussie Bate Miller Green
-
I think it will go to Liam but unfortunately it might be the Liam that plays for the Kangaroos Liam Anthony

People on this site are treating this like life and death for the club, its not we will get a pick between 1-4 regardless of what happens over the next 7 weeks to add to our already very young list. We have Watts, Strauss, Blease and Maric that we have seen either nothing or little of add to that Garland and Aussie who we know that can play. Also missing from yesterday Sylvia who has IMO been our most damaging player for the past 8 games and another youngster in Bennell that has shown enough to get exited about. Pick 1 and 2 or 3 are a bonus, and if we do get that I won't complain but we have enough potential quality around our club to be extremely positive about our future even if we do only get a pick from 2-4.

I would love to know since the introduction of the Draft, how many No 1 draft picks have played in a premiership for the club they were drafted by. In recent times I can only recall Hodge for Hawthorn. In two years to time I hope we do look back at these emails and I'm right in stating "that winning now will only benefit our club for the future".

We won yesterday, great and I'm sure that many posters on here that want to lose song the song and cheered yesterday. Winning is great, players develop faster in a winning environment then a losing one. Essendon for example they have a winning culture at their club, the may have been down in recent years but the never hit the bottom, now they will make the finals this year and IMO are in a lot better position then Carlton for next year. West Coast are the same, 2 bad years but they love winning, next year or the year after they will be back winning not like the other WA team they don't have that winning culture and will be down the bottom for many years to come. Winning is a culture, it is something that our club has to get, even earlier this decade we started to get this into our club, but we could never combine the winning onfield with off field performance, which means we couldn't get high quality people to our club. It seems we are getting closer to winning off field and on field we need to catch up. Give me winning over draft picks anyday.

I remember reading last year that when he first came over he was very home sick, it wouldn't supprise me if he wants to go home, he may appear on Adelaide or ports rookie list. the decision on Robbo might hinge on how many games we win this year, if we win less than 5 get pick 1/2 he is gone if we win more than 4 he might go around again.
-
Watts should not play until the run off three games against Richmond, North Melbourne and Fremantle. If he plays this week we then have Geelong in Geelong and Sydney in Canberra, give him a spell at Casey until Richmond. This week 1 change Out Sylvia In Bell Give Bell three games to try and stay on our list.
-
This post highlights how bad his OP was effecting him. Even last year although better than previous years he would have shots from 50m out and not make the distance.
-
I like Robbo and will be a little upset to see him go but unfortunately the club will have to delist 5-7 players this year, you go through our list and with out knowing contract status you would think it has to come from McDonald, Whelan, Wheatley, Robbo, Johnson, Dunn, Bell, McNamarra, Newton, Cheney, Bartram, Petterd, Miller. From that list I think Wheatley, Cheney, Petterd, Miller and Johnson will still be there next year, that leaves 8. We may get one more year out of Robbo but will that benefit the club in the long term, no, it will apply a band aid on our forward line for one year.
-
I think that Strauss did his shoulder early in preseason as well. Maric had little preseason this year, get it done now and he should be right to do most training by October. Wait until September to do this he wouldn't even be running when preseason starts.

Since the draft was introduced how many no 1 picks have won flags? Although I appreciate that pick 1 and 2 will be good for the development of our list, I also think winning games will be good for the development of out list. On our list we still haven't seen Strauss and Blease, we have seen little of Watts and Maric, thats four top 25 pick players that need to be introduced next year. We will finish bottom 3 regardless so we will get a top 3 pick Scully from all reports is the standout but you will still get a good player at pick 3. For me it is a win win situation, we win 5 games we are winning games great and we win less then 5 we win by getting pick 1/2. Enjoy the next 8 weeks don't focus on losing and draft picks we will be in a better position next year regardless of how many games we win.
