  1. Should have used a brown paper bag.
  2. Hmmmm... loser's limp?
  3. Bailey made the ultimate call on youth when he delisted Junior, Miller and let Bruce wander off to Hawthorn for a little super. If that wasn't a marker that he is putting player development first, then I'm Hayden Lamaro.
  4. I am making no judgement one way or the other, but I would be genuinely interested to read how everyone thinks Bailey is consistently out-coached, out-smarted or out-foxed. It appears to be a given that the opposing coaches out-coach Bailey - but how?
  5. What happened to poor skills "down" back?
  6. It obviously does not matter to the Hun that Jimmy and Bails might have had a conversation before and/or after the photo was taken. Not that I saw the incident (for want of a more appropriate, insinuation-free word), but a picture can tell a thousand tall tales.
  7. If Davey is not dropped for today's cowardly & spineless performance it is a sad admission we are so bad we cannot afford to drop him.
  8. Newton for Kozzy. Spud for spud. Lose / lose.
  9. As I have said before. I have a friend at WC who swears teams bring their injured and out-of-form players back against Melbourne because the players are guaranteed a soft landing.
  10. Goddard will do a Corey. Corey McKernan, that is. Melbourne are famous for playing players back into form. McKernan was classic - having a shocking year, but you can punt on him having a big match against Melbourne. Edwards last week - first game back, six goals. Kreuzer will come back against us - big game. That's why I like Tapscott so much. Thomas has had a shocking year in front of the sticks and was bound to find his kicking boots and have a god game, but Tappy flogged him.
  11. Have you got to the part where Essendon got 52 frees to Melbourne's 20 in the 1941 grand final?
  12. Australia has had growth for 20 years now, but in that time the Demons have been up and down like an economist's forecasts. Hard to see a recent correlation.
  13. Jack Fitzpatrick has syndesmosis. Syndesmosis: a slightly movable articulation where the contiguous bony surfaces are united by an interosseous ligament, as in the inferior tibiofibular articulation. But I expect you all know that.
  14. I wish we had 10 consecutive losses at Etihad. That would have meant we lost to the Bulldogs in round 19, 2007 and not blown our priority pick.
  15. Should have elbowed him in the head like Jackson or Tambling. Would have only got a week.
  16. If we make our forwards stay at home, the Collingwood pressers only need to be accountable if they think our backs can kick 60+ metres with precision.
  17. Connolly is not a coach, he is the designated funster.
  18. I wonder. Does our game-plan involve kicking out on the full? If so, last night we achieved World's Best Practice.
  19. Did our membership go down overnight?
  20. Surprised? Here is my tip from last night: "WC was s**t 2010, but beat Melbourne in Melbourne. WC are better in 2011, we are worse. Footy Maths does not lie."
  21. Tough "werk"? Actually, that kind of works as a portmanteau word: Work + Week = Werk.
  22. A friend of mine who worked for WC once told me clubs organise to bring players back from injury against Melbourne because the injured player will get a soft re-entry.
  23. Positive: Jack Darling was not drafted at 13. That would have put Melbourne in Tambling/Franklin and Fiora/Pavlich territory. Negative: 26 is double 13, so numerically it's twice as bad.
  24. Melbourne actually won the second quarter. FLOODGATES, DEMONS!
  25. Round 19, 2002. 3: Johnstone 2: Gardiner 1: Yze http://stats.rleague.com/afl/stats/games/2002/111820020811.html
