And the road between Ivanhoe in England and Docklands is an absolute wash-out.
-
What's up with Blacres? He smashed us last year.
-
Don't know about the weather in Docklands, but there were massive raindrops as I drove through Ivanhoe.
-
Never been more nervous at the start of a season. It would have to be St Kilda at Etihad.
-
That was a shattering loss. Completely killed my expectations and the season.

You'll need to get a new favourite memory. (See above.) The Crows game was Jako's second game.
-
Jako's first game was round 1 against West Coast in Perth. Jako hardly did a thing and got dropped to the Twos where he kicked lots of goals until Northey brought him back to the Ones where he continued to kick lots of goals. I think he kicked a total of about 130 goals for the year, 1s and 2s, but also had over 200 shots at goal.

We won easy by a point.

I like the Hutchy and Pickers show.
-
Clarko Footy. We relentlessly bang our heads against a wall. Then watch the ball scoot the other way for easy seagull goals. We simply must find a better way through zone defences.
-
Not sure how good they are. But I guarantee they have at least 5 players who I've never heard of who will rip us apart.

If we beat Saints round 1 I will ...

Say "told you so", even though I didn't. -
Mark Weideman was early 80s. Paul Tuddenham was late 80s.

At least Brad Johnson smiles a lot. So he's got that going for him. Dermott tries to use too many big words. Most of which he has no idea about their meaning.

HOW PAGAN SLIPPED THROUGH DEES' FINGERS
Tony Tea replied to La Dee-vina Comedia's topic in Melbourne Demons
Pretty sure it was Doug Heywood who convinced the Dees to hire Balmey. Pagan was all set for the Dees, but Heywood convinced us to make a late change. Commenters are right about Pagan + Carey. Pagan was very old school (which wasn't so old back then) with the physicality, and with Carey up front to capitalise. Balmey was very new school with the ball movement. Would have loved to see us combine the two styles. Nevertheless Balmey was butchered by injury, possibly more than any other coach I can think of. 1994 to 1995 especially. Lyon, Prymke, Tingay, Schwarz, Glenn Lovett, Jako, Charles, etc. Take them out of any side and you're in trouble. Compare that with Pagan, who mostly had key players on tap. See how shirty he was when Schwass and Archer were suspended in 1997. -
Look to last year's two St Kilda games for pointers. Hickey did a good job on Gawn. How & why? Round 6 Gawn: 13 disposals and 38 hit outs. Hickey: 13/36. Round 17 Gawn 11/36. Hickey 21/27.

Angus Brayshaw's grandfather is Sticks and his father is Sticks so Angus should also be Sticks.
-
Little Sticks understands footy is a contact sport and knows how to use his body. What's not to like.

Jack's and Dylan's careers are pretty similar when you consider how many games both have missed via injury. I reckon on balance that Jack is the more natural footballer, while Dylan is the more natural athlete. Put them together and you'd have a very handy player, albeit an injury prone one. Jack lacked pace, which meant his kicking could be closed down. Dylan's pace would have allowed Jack to get out into space and deliver with less pressure. Neither are great kicks, though. Are any of the other Grimes boys elite kicks? Better stop now before this hypothetical gets ridiculous. Or more ridiculous.
-
PS. The sledging Jack copped both as a Demon and when he got delisted was seriously unfair. The bloke is borderline Demon royalty.
