  1. This meeting with the council on Aug 5 seems to be taking forever to come around. And whilst we are sifting through candidates for the CEO position...
  2. I've done my bit. And I agree. Keep stirring.
  3. RR mightily nice of you to jump on me for this. But I simply referred to him as a twit (which was in reference to his most recent of pieces on Crikey). I did not refer to him as a twit because he was doing his job and reporting what he had overheard. Thankyou for stating the obvious about the MFC and NMFC. Let's hope they both can turn it around for their respective members and supporters.
  4. It did look as though Hale shut Buckley down very quick for a big man, suggesting the umpire may have been lenient on whether Hale was or wasn't at the required distance.
  5. Note: Charles Happell was the journalist who claimed to have overheard Andrew Demetriou in a cafe last December saying the Kangaroos would go broke, he's a journalist looking for controversy IMO, here's a reminder of this twit:- THE journalist at the centre of a report claiming AFL chief Andrew Demetriou allegedly spoke of the death of the Kangaroos in a cafe conversation is standing by his article. Charles Happell reported on subscription news service crikey.com.au that Demetriou and players' boss Brendon Gale were heard publicly discussing the Kangaroos' decision not to relocate to the Gold Coast at a South Melbourne cafe last week. The story, reported in yesterday's Herald Sun, claimed Demetriou said the club would go broke within six months and that the Roos had played into the league's hands by rejecting its offer to relocate to the Gold Coast. - Herald Sun
  6. Cheers thanks for the update, will be keeping a look out in a couple of months time. Fingers crossed.
  7. Anyway. Looks as though Canberra gets the nod. A worthwhile exercise nontheless
  8. Charles Happell (aka. "smartarse" - unstable punt), wrote that so called crap.
  9. Well that would equate to approximately 7 to 10 wins, that would definitely be some improvement. Others here may want the team to finish lower for quality draft picks.
  10. Hell must be full of chances......
  11. Try not to beat around the bush next time. Didn't he comeback midweek from his Urn that held his ashes once and played that weekend? Onya Jimmy. Go Dees!
  12. Irving. URL works fine.
  13. Sounds good. Who did Robinson and Johnston represent at the Championships and who are they playing footy for now ?
  14. Maybe both sites could combine their tabulated results and call it The Demons MVP?
  15. Hmm its interesting regarding Sylvia. I think the higher finishing clubs will need to trade for him if they want to get hold of him. They won't want him going through to the PSD.
  16. GS?
  17. And Skilled isn't neutral territory for our opposition if its not Geelong?
  18. 14th! Demonology doesn't rate Wheatley? Demonland has been dismissive of Jones in comparison?
  19. Ahhhh Midnight Oil....good example. Totally agree with you and I feel and share your emotion!
  20. So what IYO would a player the calibre of Davey fetch? pick 20-25? Remembering T.Johnstone = 14.
  21. One I left out was Hurley for VIC Metro, he is considered top 10 material, played a key back role in the game, good overhead mark, good at ground level. Just wish we could get our hands on half-a-dozen of the first 20 this draft, to fill a few holes. I think we'll get 4 picks out of the top 25, it remains to be seen who will be traded, but I will predict the Footy Department will try for 4 out of 25, courtesy of a trade somewhere and pick swapping.
  22. And your absolutely sure of that?
  23. Controversial I know. Lets hope we do win more than 4 games next year. Its a long way off, and they're is alot of water to go under the bridge and still some development to go, but one wonders if Ricky Petterd might want to go back home to Broadbeach on the Gold Coast one day. He maybe an option for trading with the new licensed team one day. Then again, he may want to stay a Demon and be a one-club player.
  24. And if we could secure a early first round draft pick for him that breaks lines and highly skilled would it be worthwhile in 5 years time?
  25. I think he's worth a first rounder too. The thing is he's played nearly 100 games, and how would he be in 3-4 years time - what would he be like then approaching 30, have we already seen the best of him, he has the X-factor that other clubs will clamber over each other for him.
