  1. Yes these are blatantly obvious statements regarding Saturday at The 'G' (the greatest stadium in the world - there's another obvious statement) It doesn't retract from the view that there seemed more Melbourne support than previous games.
  2. Apologies for getting off the topic: - Just on Heffernan, did the Dees help the Dons out there? He went back to Essendon under Sheedy.....what was all that about?
  3. Yes, that is the issue. And it won't be answered until, our side becomes super competitive and improves our ladder position into the top 8. 100%. Spectator numbers is the key for bargaining, but improved on-field performances are the catalyst.
  4. I know. But I generally go on visual numbers and noise levels. No one's an expert. As for Vlad, I don't think that this is some come uppance to Vlad , but my thoughts are:- any information or opinions he here's from the masses, that could or may generate more saturday fixtures for the Dees, the better for us all Dees supporters, even if it does fall on deaf ears! Think positive no matter what...
  5. Cotchin is currently second favourite.
  6. Yes. Being a Friday night and Melbourne home game at the G, which the players will enjoy. They will be up for this, no doubt. I'm probably leaning towards a line of 38.5 points, based on Melbourne's performances of late. The line will almost be halved from the line back in Round 3.
  7. Yes, and quick fixes just don't happen once kids are just drafted. They rarely do. Judd being the obvious exception to that rule.
  8. Dramatically improved - I wouldn't say that, IMO it was a better turnout. And I believe it being a Saturday, it allowed some other members to attend who may have preferred a saturday fixture at the G, which we haven't had for a while.
  9. Ok , lets narrow it down then, well the "Big Name" forwards of the comp are Pavlich, Franklin, Brown, Bradshaw, Riewoldt, Roughead, Fevola, Mooney, Hall, Rocca, Lloyd, Hansen, Tredrea, Porplyzia, Richardson. I can't see any of those being poached or traded. Maybe the talk is Jack Watts.
  10. Consider them marked!
  11. I believe point Number 1 had alot to do with it. When you combine 1 and 3 (MCG), the Red & Blue turn up.
  12. Totally agree. If you took the blinker's off you would see that it was one of the better turnouts for Melbourne support. Go Dees!
  13. Yeh, but that speaks volumes for North Melbourne as well RR......
  14. Saw a list of favourites for The NAB Rising Star last week with half-a-dozen or so players with Rhys Palmer, Rioli, Cotchin, etc. Was somewhat disappointed and bemused that Cale Morton wasn't listed. I'll be on the lookout again this week to see an update - Morton should be in the top 5 listed as far as I'm concerned..............and if he is not listed.....I'll.... <_<
  15. That's right Bingo. Unfortunately alot are wanting him to be the messiah for the Dees, he has been hampered by OP. He is a good utility that can do a number of jobs for DB. He can go forward and kick goals, he can run through the midfield in bursts, and he has shown he is more than capable of helping in the backline on occassions. Not many others have the range of tools Sylvia possesses in the Melbourne side going forward. Yet 'they' want to put him up for trade. Mind boggling
  16. I reckon they will have Cats somewhere around $1.06 Demons $7.50 Last time the Dees were $10+ on TAB; I think Centrebet had the Dees back then at $28, but it was at Skilled and came after horrendous 104 and 95 Point losses to Hawthorn and Bulldogs respectively. Well, that game at Skilled the boys gave the Cats a scare. Dees were off to a flyer, fell behind midway through the game, then our boys came back at them again and looked poised for the biggest upset of all, before the Cats composed themselves and eventually ran out the game 30 point winners. Our side has improved, the major difference will no doubt be the Cats heavier more seasoned bodies against the light-framed youth of Melbourne. But footy's a funny game and a great leveller - (don't you just love the Cliche's!) Go Dees! P.S. FWIW you can take a good formline through the Bombers, outside Geelong they have the richest vein of form over the last several weeks. Its unfortunate we will miss Garland. I'd love to see the Dees beat the Cats on Friday.
  17. Ablett may be a return, Selwood could be suspended for 1 week. Can our youngsters do it?
  18. That was him chasing his own tail
  19. Ewok! So should you - if your not prepared to state your case.
  20. Yes he will be a prime target. That is for sure. So too Nick Riewoldt. Both from Broadbeach. Will be enticed to come home.
  21. Hmmmmmm. I'll go with the latter quote.
  22. That is interesting. He'll probably put it down to "a cold night". The real reason is the Demons can pull a crowd to a game.......on a Saturday afternoon. Hear that Vlad?......I'll spell it out for you, "We want more Saturday games!"
  23. With 10 mins to go, the frees were something like Ess 26 Melb 13. Before the Umpires MADE it look a bit more respectable at something like 28-18 in favour of the Bumbers (scum). Fair enough free kicks have to be earned, and if they're there they must pay them if blatant. Bruce was shafted big time having not been payed the mark. I think the AFL should look at rewarding umpires on performance, and have the umpires take pay-cuts for blatant mistakes. Because as the Ox says, its invariably those mistakes that costs games .
  24. Typical Sydneyites!
  25. That would of been a pint of Guiness
